The Mantric mPod is a sleek bullet-style vibrator with a cord-attached control pack. It is designed for external stimulation and feels best when used on the clitoris, labia, or as a tease for the vagina. If you prefer, the mPod could also work with a little shallow penetration of vagina, but I would not recommend using this anally. There are creases around where the wire attaches to the bullet that could be hard to clean. Keep in mind that this is a very small bullet and it is unlikely that you will desire to use this internally anyway.

Both the control pack and the bullet itself are made of a very velvety plastic material. It is entirely smooth with no texture, other than a very thin, almost unnoticeable line running around the middle of the bullet. The mPod is a very 'skin friendly' toy and does not contain latex or phthalates. Always a plus in my book!

There is no smell to the plastic other than that hint of 'new' fresh out of the package. If you choose to use soap when cleaning the mPod, it does always seem to retain some of the soap's scent in the material. You could, however, easily use a scent-free soap to avoid this, but I actually enjoy the fresh smell and don't mind it a bit.

The mPod's design is a new one for me. This is the first corded bullet vibrator I have ever used and I was excited about trying out the new features. For one, the bullet is perfectly sized and shaped to fit nicely over the clit. The downside to this is that it can be a little hard to hold on to, especially during sex when there is a whole lot of movement going on.

The mPod's bullet is about the length of my pinky finger (or 2 1/2") and approximately 2 1/4" around. The tube shaped control pack is bigger and is a lot easier to hold on to. It fits perfectly and quite comfortably in the palm of your hand. Its size also makes it incredibly easy to tuck away in your purse, luggage, or wherever you choose to store yours. It takes one AA battery which is not included, so be sure to have one on hand.

There are three colors available for the mPods- yellow, purple, and blue. I am going to guess that I received the yellow, but really it looks much more like a creamy orange color. No matter what the color, the mPods appearance is very discreet. The name 'mPod' was likely chosen because of the toys similarities to MP3 players (think of the control pack as the player and the wire leading to the bullet as headphones). It definitely doesn't scream sex toy!

Another new feature for me was the mPod's multi-function vibrations. I must admit I've been deprived this whole time. Why haven't I bought a mult-function vibrator sooner? It has a total of 10 vibrating, pulsating, and escalating functions. The first three settings are the traditional, steady vibrations starting from the lowest to highest. The remaining seven are a variety of pulses that are a whole new pleasure! If you've never experienced this then I recommend that you seriously consider giving it a try. I was able to achieve some pretty amazing orgasms! But before I sound like I'm suggesting the mPod is the perfect bullet, I do have to address its issue on intensity. The package does claim that the mPod is a high intensity bullet, but I must disagree. The power is there, but I kept wanting more. It just wasn't bringing me over the edge and it would take me what seemed like forever to actually orgasm.

The mPod is definitely not a noisy toy, but you will notice that some settings seem to be much more noticeable than others. Also, the noise does seem to intensify, rather than muffle, when you cover it with certain objects. I laid a pillow on top of the bullet and the vibrations seemed to rattle the pillow rather than weaken.

To turn the mPod on you simply push either the 'up' button or 'down' button. I love that you have the ability to go through the settings with the possibility to easily re-visit a setting by going back up or down to the one you want. One thing I would prefer is a simple on/off button because you will have to keep sifting through the 10 settings until you get to the one that powers it off.

This toy is waterproof and splash-proof according to the package (isn't it splash-proof if its waterproof?). I wouldn't expect anything with wires to be waterproof, but I wasn't complaining. I ran the mPod over water to test this claim. It still works fine today so I am going to say it must be pretty waterproof! Still, if you want to keep your mPod safe, I would be a little weary of submerging the toy for any period of time.

You will want to clean your mPod after every use with either a mild antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. I noticed that bodily fluids and lubricant both seem to stick on the toy and you may have to scrub a little harder to get things squeaky clean. I recommend cleaning this toy as soon as possible after use because the longer you wait the more likely things get 'stuck' on. Hot water is fine to use with the mPod, but of course you cannot boil it. Don't forget to get the wire and the control pack too. Water, oil, and silicone lubricants are all compatible with the mPod.

I was a somewhat surprised by the pamphlet that comes in the mPod package. The back has a summary of the toy and there are many grammatical errors which struck me as odd for a company such as this. One statement reads "I so proud of it", another sentence is lacking a period, and the word 'they're' is spelled 'theye'. The company seems to be based in Surrey England, so maybe the company's language or location is to blame for the errors? One important thing the pamphlet is lacking is what kind of batteries the mPod takes. Thankfully I had Eden to supply this information beforehand, but still this is important and it should have been included.

My partner absolutely loved having the ability to control the bullet from his own hands while I held it to my body. This is one of the major pros of the mPod and other bullets with corded (or wireless) control packs. You could also slip the bullet in your undies and control the vibrations with your hands. If you have pockets you could even slide the control pack in, while you go about your day. The mPod had a long enough cord for any position or activity, so I didn't have any problems with not being able to reach. I did feel that the cord was sort of getting in the way with some situations and it doesn't necessarily look very sexy strung across the body.
