The Jewel That Sank
The Jewel would be a suitable choice for those new to sex toys or looking for a waterproof vibrator. The bulged shaft and velvety texture offer a nice variation to other traditional vibrators. If you need to be discreet or if you love strong vibrations, the Jewel probably wouldn't be the best choice for you.

Pros
Waterproof, velvety texture.
Cons
Loud, mediocre vibrations.
The Jewel vibrator by SH Inc. is reminiscent of a larger version of Jenna's Velvet Jewels traditional vibrator. The Jewel is 6½ inches long, with 5¼ of that being insertable. It comes in packaged in a box boasting three pictures of the same naked woman (one on the front, back, and top) over an orange background. The box displays quite a few random blurbs, such as “Best Seller – New – Try Me Buy Me!” and “Awaken your strong sexual passion step by step!!” (yes, with two exclamation points.)
The Jewel has a nice velvety texture with a small seam running the length of the shaft. The seam isn't noticeable during insertion, although it can be felt when running your hands over the vibrator. At the bottom of the shaft, where the base unscrews to reveal the battery compartment, are two rows of gemstones. The gemstones are fastened securely, and would not come off no matter how hard I tried to remove them (which I tried strictly for reviewing purposes, I assure you). The Jewel takes 2 AA batteries, which are inserted at the bottom of the vibrator. The vibrations are controlled by a spin dial, which can be maneuvered with one finger. Please take note that the spin dial is sensitive and can be turned on very easily, so if you're traveling with the Jewel be sure to remove the batteries. This vibrator is waterproof, and after completely submerging it in a sink full of water, there was no water or condensation to be found in the twist cap or battery compartment (and in case you're wondering- it sinks).
The Jewel is made out of plastic, and should be cleaned using antibacterial soap and warm water or toy cleaner. The motor seems to be housed in the tip of the vibrator, but the vibrations do travel well throughout the entire shaft. The vibrations aren't extremely strong, and would not be ideal for pinpoint stimulation. Even though the Jewel is not a powerhouse when it comes to the strength of vibrations, it sounds like it is. This vibrator can be heard through a closed door, so you might want to look elsewhere if you are searching for a discreet toy. (I would compare the volume of the Jewel to that of a dremel tool.)
The Jewel would be a suitable choice for those new to sex toys or looking for a simple waterproof vibrator. The bulged shaft and velvety texture offer a nice variation to other traditional vibrators. If you need to be discreet or love strong vibrations, the Jewel probably isn't what you're looking for.
