Traditional vibrator discontinued

Tap, tap, tap, tap. Work, dammit!

Hopefully California Exotics will work the kinks out of the design, because this has the potential to be a terrific vibrator. As it is, it's more likely to frustrate you trying to get it to work.

Use

The iTap Vibe was a serious bummer. It has a nice strong vibration, has an interesting soft texture, and looks well made. Unfortunately, it's not. I couldn't get the tap feature to work at all, so I can only speak on the other features it has, which is too bad since I thought the tap idea was pretty cool.

Material / Texture

The iTap is a soft velvet-coat plastic. I thought that it might be a bit too rough, but with a little bit of lube it was actually quite nice. The softness of the surface actually lends the vibe a more quality feel; it didn't seem as cheap as some other traditional vibrators. It didn't have any noticeable smell.

Design / Shape / Size

Overall the iTap is a little larger than other traditional vibrators that I've tried, but it is by no means a giant. I usually don't enjoy penetration with traditional vibes because they are too thin, but this is just wide enough to be satisfying. It's got enough heft to it that it doesn't feel like it'll break, but it's not too heavy. It's also not waterproof. There seemed to be a bit more attention to detail paid in the design of this toy, as the base locks in place securely and it is visually rather pleasing. I personally didn't care too much for the pink, but the base had a nice smooth flower shape that was unusual and interesting.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Ahhh the performance. I read on some other reviews that other people have had problems getting the tap function to work and solved the problem with fresh batteries. I tried multiple sets of brand new batteries, and none fixed the problem. This means that the vibrator is either on or off, and the only way to turn it off is to take the cap off, disconnecting the batteries. Major disappointment, because the vibration is quite strong and I think it would've been very effective on a different setting. As it was, when I used it, it was moderately effective on just the one setting. But, when it's on, it's quite loud. It could definitely be heard through a closed door.

Care and Maintenance

Because this vibe isn't waterproof, care must be taken to keep water from getting into the battery compartment when cleaning. It can be washed with soap and warm water or wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Because it can't be completely sanitized, this is not a toy I would share.

Packaging

The packaging was relatively tasteful; the vibe came in an opaque white box with a picture of the vibe on the front, some flowers, and instructions. It wouldn't be suitable for either gift packaging or for storing the vibe.

That is a shame it wouldn't work right for you. Mine on the other hand did work but in order to really turn it off I did have to remove the batteries, which is no porblem being that most of my vibe toys I use the same batteries from one to the next. My biggest problem was any little tap would change the setting, heck even the sheets changes the setting.

Over all the vibe is perfect nice material and great feel. Just a fel little bugs need to be fixed. Great review

It seems they need to go back to the drawing board with this technology.

    Nice review thanks!

What lubes are safe with the velvet cote? Did yours turn on then break and not come back on? I am not understanding what the issue was. Most issues were that it turned on and was too sensitive and would come on all by themselves? How strong was it, and how loud was it?
