Somewhat Scintillating

The Divine Scintillation is a miniature wand shaped vibrator. It doesn't have as much power as larger wands do, but it's quite strong relative to it's size. It would be a good choice for someone who is looking for a small, easy to hold clitoral stimulator and who doesn't require pressure or rumbly vibrations.

Use

The Divine Scintillation is best for clitoral stimulation, but it can also be used on the nipples or any other external erogenous areas. It doesn't work well for body massages due to the small head and flexible neck. The small size and curved handle make it easy to manoeuvre during sex with a partner. It isn't waterproof, so you'll have to stick to dry land with this one.

Material / Texture

The head and neck are made from TPR. It is squishy and has a soft, matte finish. There is a series of ridges on either side of the head that could add stimulation if the toy is rubbed against the body. The handle is made from plastic and is smooth and shiny. There is no noticeable odour to the toy.

Both are safe, food-grade materials, which earns this toy a 7/10 on the material safety scale. It is phthalates free, latex free, and hypoallergenic. TPR is slightly porous and cannot be sterilized, so cover it with a condom if you would like to share with a partner. It is compatible with silicone or water based lubes.

Design / Shape / Size

The Divine Scintillation is 6 inches long, and about 1 inch wide. It is the same length as my hand from wrist to fingertips. One of the main design features of the Scintillation is it's curved handle. This makes the toy easy to grip and manoeuvre. Since the handle is curved towards the body during use, it won't get in the way of a partner.

The size of the head works well. It fits easily between the labia and doesn't interfere with penetration, but it's large enough that it won't slip off the clitoris with a slight movement.

The neck is very flexible, and can easily be bent back to be perpendicular to the handle. The packaging touts the flexibility as a feature, and it could be good for users who are more sensitive, but it prevents those who need pressure from being able to get it.

The Scintillation has an attractive black and pink colour scheme, with floral designs down the handle. It appears to be more fuschia or magenta in the product photos, but in person it is a very intense hot pink.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Scintillation has 3 speeds of vibration, that can be cycled through by pressing a single button. The vibrations are fairly strong, but seem to increase more in pitch than strength as you progress through the levels. The lowest speed is medium in pitch and would earn 3 vrooms. The highest speed is a bit stronger (4 vrooms), but very buzzy. The toy is quiet, and won't be heard through a door.

The vibrations are located in the head of the toy and can barely be felt in the handle, so you don't need to worry about numb hands.

The button is located where it can easily be accessed by the thumb. It requires enough pressure that you it won't get bumped by accident, but not so much that it's difficult to use.

The Scintillation takes 2 AAA batteries. The battery compartment doesn't screw onto the base of the toy, and is simply pulled off and pushed back into place. There are some ridges on the cap to help with gripping, but it can still be difficult to remove. Inside, there is a small o-ring that helps hold the cap in place, but it isn't enough to prevent water from leaking inside. It comes with a piece of paper inserted in the battery compartment that shows which way to insert the batteries, and prevents them from rattling during use.

Care and Maintenance

The Scintillation should be cleaned with toy cleaner or antibacterial soap and warm water after every use. Be careful during washing to ensure that no water gets into the battery compartment. It should be stored away from toys made of other soft materials to avoid any potential reactions.

Packaging

The Scintillation came packaged in a small cardboard box with a picture of the toy resting on a bed of rose petals. The front features a magnetic flap, which can be opened to reveal a plastic window with the toy visible inside. There is some product information on the box, and a pamphlet with generic instructions and warnings inside. The box is fairly sturdy and could be used for storage.

Personal comments

I'm not someone who needs very rumbly vibrations, but the highest setting on this toy is too buzzy for me and actually gives me less stimulation than the lowest setting does. It reminds me a lot of the Pocket Fairy in that way, but the Pocket Fairy is slightly stronger and has a much less flexible neck, so it works much better for me.
