So Much More Fun Than Sea World
Dolly Dolphin II by Fun Factory is a beautifully designed toy with a handful of flaws that don't make her unusable, but make you have to be more creative as to how you use her.
Published:
Pros
waterproof, bodysafe, gentle g-spot stimulation, nice even size, easy to insert
Cons
vibrations don't carry, almost impossible to open base
Fun Factory's Dolly Dolphin is a bright pink silicone g-spot vibrator in the shape of a smiling dolphin. She is very sweet looking and sweet feeling, once you learn how to make her work best for you. It should be fine for beginners and advanced alike although I personally think it might be better for those just starting out with sex toys as it is high quality and powerful, but simple at the same time.
Dolly is made of silicone that is non-porous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and latex free with a plastic base. This particular base has a funky angled daisy type pattern on the bottom to add a bit of grip as you spin the base to control the vibrations. You can actually turn the dial either way to turn on the vibrations, and you're halfway around it's at full power, and all the way around turns it back off. It only has the one vibration pattern (solid) though, and the dial makes it easy to overshoot the stop point and turn it back on accidentally. This unfortunately makes her pretty unattractive for a travel toy if that's what you're after.
The base also comes off to insert the 2 AA batteries, which although a pretty standard design, is a royal pain on this toy. In order to remove the base, you have to squeeze two points on the sides of it and pull and I personally wasn't even strong enough to do this, and had to wait for my boyfriend to come over to open the toy. What's nice about this super tight seal though, is that it gives me more faith in the toy's waterproof capability. She has been used in water several time and has always stayed completely dry inside.
Her overall size really is fantastic. She is about an inch and a half wide with 6 inches of insertable length. Besides the head, nose, and face, she's pretty straight and traditional. But the combination of the slightly larger than what I usually like girth-wise combined with the plush, somewhat squishy silicone add up to a really satisfying fulfilling experience for me, personally.
The vibrations of this toy come from the motor in the base of the toy. Although silicone generally carries vibrations very well, this one has so much thick silicone toward the top that the vibrations aren't nearly as strong there as in the rest of the toy, but can still be felt. The toy is really too long and broad to be used comfortably for most for clitoral stimulation either, so if you need really direct vibrations for g-spot stimulation, this one may not be for you. This toy is also not made for anal insertion as there is no flared base for safety. However, if just a couple of vrooms on your g-spot will do the trick for you, Dolly is almost sure to please.
While we're talking about vrooms, this toy isn't the highest speed one that I have, but far from the lowest either. Her vibrations start out low, and end up at a nice medium high that I think would be enough for most of the female population. She is fairly quiet though, and can be drowned out by a closed door, running shower, or even a really thick comforter or pillow.
The toy is easy to clean and can be kept in a toy pouch or in a drawer with other clean, plastic and silicone toys. Although it is waterproof and silicone, it still cannot be boiled or put in a dishwasher because of the mechanical components, but the silicone portion can be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution to sanitize it.
Dolly's Fun Factory packaging is very nice, but not really worth keeping to me. She comes in a tall rectangular sturdy ivory and red box enclosed in a plastic clamshell packaging inside. It's not particularly discreet but it's not trashy either. Inside the box you will also find a sample of Fun Factory lube and a little pamphlet showcasing Fun Factory's other wares. I chose not to keep the box and just store the toy along with my other clean silicone toys.

Experience
The sightly curved snout portion of the dolphin (do dolphin's have 'snouts'?) is what is clearly meant for g-spot stimulation. I did not find this to work for me at all because if I inserted the toy pushing upward to try and get the most of this part of the toy, it poked me uncomfortably. If I pulled back on it and applied less pressure, her snout just bent back and left a flat piece of silicone rubbing up against my g-spot (which is not altogether unpleasant, but can be achieved with almost any vibrator). What I found worked best, by far, was to use the back of her head. The smooth rounded curve of it brushed up against my g-spot much more comfortably and effectively.
Overall, I like the toy. It looks good, it feels good, and I'm confident it will last a long time. My only qualm in recommending it is that there are a lot of other vibrators of the same size made out of pliable materials, so whether or not this toy is worthwhile really depends on your existing toy collection. Is it a beautiful high quality toy? Yes. Does it do anything well above and beyond other similar toys? No. I'm still glad I have it, but if you're trying to have a smaller collection or stick to a smaller bullet, some serious comparison shopping may be warranted before reaching for Dolly.

Thanks for this review! I was seriously about to get this in my next order, but it just seems too simple for me this late in the game. I may still get it if I feel I need a filling traditional vibrator, but I am not sure now!
