I have never had a Hitachi Magic Wand massager but many reviews for other clitoral vibrators refer back to the Hitachi as the be-all and end-all of clitoral vibrators. I have had other Lelo vibrators and been very satisfied. The Smart Wand is no exception. I ordered the purple which is a gorgeous purple with a touch of wine added. It has a ball shaped head, a narrow neck and the body starts out wide and tapers in a concave fashion. Just touching and looking at it is fine!! I have never felt any material that is so hard, yet so soft and smooth.

NOW...get this...besides controlling the Smart Wand with the Lelo controls, this wand is SMART! She takes her clues from you and the more pressure you use against your body (whether your clit or any muscles), the stronger the vibrations will be. This is a low keyed vibrator or a very powerful vibrator. I am so impressed with everything about her.

I can use it on a low speed for several minutes or speed it up to get off FAST!! It is easy to control. It is the quietest vibe I have used (and I have used many over the years). Another bonus is that the vibrations are not at all annoying to my hand. Often with strong vibrators the vibes can be felt more by your hand than by your clit. Not so with the Lelo Smart Wand.

Newbies, oldies and everyone in between will fall in love with the Smart Wand. Buy your own because I am not sharing!!

For personal safety, do not use this on your chest (think heart defibrillation) or throat (think suffication). Otherwise, you are good to go.

There is no scent or taste to the Lelo Smart Wand. None!

This is made from "body safe" silicone and plastic. The surface is smooth and soft but the Smart Wand is hard beneath the surface. Oh, how lovely she looks and feels! Lelo says that this is waterproof but the open port at the flat end concerns me enough that I did not attempt it under water. If you do want to try it in a bath or pool, I would carefully test it in the sink before using it intimately. I would use a condom to feel safe.

Silicone is part natural material and part man made. It is rated 8/10 by EF's safety scale. It says that silicone can be sterilized by boiling it or placing it on the top rack of the dishwasher. I would do neither of those with the Smart Wand, particularly since Lelo warns against exposing the Smart Wand to extreme heat. There is an open port and I am not comfortable exposing it to water. I am concerned it would stop the electrical connections somehow or at its best, the life span of your Smart Wand would significantely decrease. Just a guess...

The head measures 1.5" X 1.75" and the neck is .875". The body diameter widens to 1.25", then narrows to .5" and widens again to the flat end, which has a 1" diameter. Most of the vibrator is purple. On the inside curve, beginning at about the midpoint, there is a shiny silver plastic decorative plate. The classy Lelo insignia is worked into the body and disguises the on/off indentation as well as the spots to increase and decrease power and change the pattern of vibrations. The outside curve measures just under 9". She weighs in at just under 6 ounces.

The "useable" side of the vibrator is the round-ish head. The other end is flat and has no vibrations but there is a small port for the charger to plug in. Before using the Smart Wand the company recommends charging for at least 2 hours (it was so hard to wait!).

There are 3 discreetly placed control spots on the curved part of the body. The "+" gives more power, the "-" reduces power and the "oval" changes the vibrations from a solid buzz to different patterns. To turn off the vibrator, simply remove the contact to the body and hold the "-" shaped spot for a few seconds. The 7 speeds and patterns, along with the smart feature of body contact/pressure, give you endless possibilities. It is easy to change, start or stop while using without any interuption.

The vibrations are concentrated in the head (which is where you want them). It is comfortable to hold. It weighs less than 6 ounces and feels like nothing when you are using it. I am gushing about this vibrator but I have never seen, felt or used a vibrator that made me fall in love (Lust? Who cares!) at first sight. Again, I am not familiar with the Hitachi Magic Wand, but I think this would satisy any "power queens" out there.

Only water based lube can be used. I am usually the queen of lubes and loved by the lube manufacturers because during intercourse my partner and I use very much lubrication. I did not need any with the Lelo Smart Wand. I used it 4 times and never needed any lube. When I write the follow up I'll be sure to update you on that.

Lelo suggests using their brand, or other "reputable" brand of toy cleanser. Alternatively, warm water and an antibacterial soap (I use a small amount of liquid dish detergent in warm water) can be used. If you use any massage enhancers, water based products are suggested. Lelo as well as other manufacturers do make water based massage products. Be very careful to clean any products immediately after using them with the Smart Wand.

Other Lelo instructions include not placing this in sunlight or exposing it to extreme heat. The Smart Wand should be stored in the pouch that is provided by Lelo.

All Lelo products are packaged beautifully. This comes in a carboard box that houses a very discreet white box. Inside the box, along with the vibrator, is a black pouch, the charger, an instruction manual and the warranty explanation. The warranty is excellent--a 1 year full warranty and a 10 year "quality guarantee". The box also has a silver colored Lelo insignia pin. Class, class and more class. Pure class and elegance.

I would not give this as a gift. Not because it isn't gift worthy, but because I do not have such an open relationship with any of my friends that I would be comfortable handing them one of these. If you do feel that comfortable and want to give a friend a vibrator, you can not go wrong with this. I am sure I will never purchse another clitoral vibrator for many, many years. Even then, I will replace this with another Lelo Smart Wand or the next generation of Lelo vibes.
