Pros
Multispeed, multifunction, long battery life, firm, smooth texture, dual action
Cons
Strong odor, can damage other toys, cannot be sanitized, no oil based lubricants
The New Impulse Rabbit vibrator is a traditional rabbit style vibrator. The rabbit is great because it is a dual action vibrator and stimulates both the vaginal cavity and the clitoris. The Impulse Rabbit is for female vaginal use. It is not designed for anything else. Use it for masturbation, foreplay, teasing, warm up, etc. The Impulse is a great choice because it has a simple design, but still gives spectacular sensations. I use this rabbit when I want to tease myself into an orgasm. I can switch between speeds and tease myself and then finish with a superb climax.
The biggest downfall for the Impulse is the material. It is a jelly toy. The jelly material is very firm and provides a nice stiff base to play with, but it still has its downfalls. First of all, it smells really really bad at first and takes a few washes to get the smell away. Jelly toys always smell like gas or oil to me when they first come. I think briefly... why am I even considering using this thing? And then I get over it, wash it, and enjoy. I don't complain to much because it does not feel or taste as bad as it smells. The texture is really smooth and seamless. There is a gathering of nubs at the top of the shaft near the head. They aren't raised enough to be noticeable to me. The head of the vibrator however is very pronounced and I love it. The Impulse's texture is not really targeted for beginners or advanced users. It is more for anyone that enjoys a solid, firm dual action toy. Jelly is mildly porous. It's not as bad as realistic materials such as UR3 or cyber skin, but it still should not be shared. It can't be sterilized.
I love the traditional rabbit designs. I have found when you add more functions to a vibrator it usually takes away from the overall power. That just doesn't happen with the plain rabbit vibes. The mold of the Impulse is nice because it is really generic and yet it hits the exact spots. On my body, the rabbit ears are what stimulates my clitoris. The ears are firm, but still somewhat flexible, so they can move easily with thrusting or a back and forth motion. The size is another great attribute. It is 7.5 inches long with an insertable length of 5" which is just right for me. The diameter is 1.5 inches, which fits me like a glove. For those who enjoy much larger toys, this one will probably not be much fun. But for me, it's wonderful.
The Impulse can be thrown into a suitcase if desired. It is not discreet. When looked at, everyone will know what it is. Just keep that in mind.
My favorite part of the Impulse is its push button control and functions. The first press is a a non-pulsating vibration. For the first push it has some power to it. Push two, you go up a speed. Push three is the highest non-pulsating speed. One of my favorite ones. I like to take the time to run through them, but usually come back to setting three to climax. Pushes four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten are all a variety of pulsating vibrations. Each one is unique and bounce between fast pulses to long drawn out escalating pulses. Great for that personal tease, if you know what I mean. One more push to turn it off. The only bad side of the push system is that its one way. You must start with setting one, go all the way to ten, and then start over. The Impulse is not the quietest vibrator on the market. When I use it in the shower I turn on my vent and it can't be heard over that. In the bedroom, when I close my door, it can be heard throughout the bedroom but no outside the room.
Powered by two AA batteries that are not included. The battery life is wow! on the Impulse. I play with my toys a lot and out of most of them, the Impulse just seems to keep going and going. I like strong vibrations and still I can use it probably six times for 30 minutes at a time before changing my batteries.
The Impulse Rabbit is waterproof. It is one of my best shower toys. Make sure the battery compartment is closed tightly before using in water. The only problem I have is that water can get in between the jelly cover and the motor cover. It does not affect the use. It just dribbles water out for a little bit after using in the bath tub. No big deal. Just keep in mind.
Jelly toys are easy to care for. They can be washed in warm soapy water or with a toy cleaner and then dried. They don't have a sticky surface, but they have been known to cause damages to other toys. The best thing to do is store them separately in a plastic bag in a cool, dark place. This prevents damage to the jelly toy and the toys around it. Jelly cannot be sanitized or sterilized. No boiling. It should not be shared. A condom can be used, but will not cover the clitoral attachment. I just would not share a jelly rabbit vibrator.
The Impulse is compatible with water and silicone based lubricants; do not use oil based.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
I love my traditional vibes. I especially love this one because of the variety of functions with the push of a button. I have used my rabbit in bed, on the floor, and in the bath/shower. It has held up through continuous use and all functions are still working. I am impressed with the battery life as well. The batteries usually last through 6-10 uses for me before I have to replace them. It is affordable, well made, and long lasting. This baby was worth the $20 and if it ever does break, I will be buying another one.
