The Precious Metal Jewels by California Exotic Novelties is a petite, remote controlled bullet. With 10 different vibration patterns, there is something for everyone. It is great for beginners due to its small size, and advanced users will like the intensity of the high vibrations. Although the packaging states "for external use only," the bullet can be used for both internal and external stimulation. If used internally, using a condom or toy cover will prolong the use of this non-waterproof toy. Some vibrations may be too strong for external use, but can be enjoyed vaginally. This toy should not be used anally since there is not a flared base, and the cord might break. It is made of plastic, which is an 8 on the EdenFantasys Material Safety scale. If sharing with a partner, this toy can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water or by wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol. This toy is very user-friendly and is designed well.

This toy is odor- and taste-free, and is made from a shiny smooth plastic. Since this is a smooth toy, it is well-suited for beginners. The vibrations travel very well through the material of this toy, from the massager and halfway up the cord. Since this toy is plastic, it is very stiff, with no give whatsoever. There is no drag on this toy, and if lubricant is used, it will be especially slippery. There is a seam in the massager, but can not be felt during use. This toy could have been even more enjoyable if there was a bit of texture to it, but it performs well as-is.

The design of this toy is very modern and sleek. The size and shape are great for internal stimulation, and are mediocre for external stimulation. Since this toy is intended for external stimulation, improvements such as a handle that does not conduct the vibrations would allow for better control over vibration placement. Since the plastic conducts the vibrations so well, it tends to cause one's hands to go numb during some of the patterns.

The power pack measures 4.25" long and 1" in diameter, and the massager is 1.6" long and about 0.75" in diameter. The cord is 2'7", with the jack adding an additional inch. The massager would be even better if it were a little bigger, both in length and width. However, it is still enjoyable at its current size. Since the massager and be disconnected from the power pack, it is fairly easy to conceal this toy in a nightstand, cosmetic bag, or other storage pouch. Neatly wrapping the cord for storage would help prevent unnecessary damage while not in use.

There is a crease in the massager where the pieces come together. Liquids could get trapped in this groove, so be sure to take special care when cleaning. The junction between the massager and cord could also be problematic when cleaning.

The massager has only one button. One press turns the on the vibrations. Each additional press takes the user through the 10 patterns. To turn off the vibrations, hold the button down for 3 seconds. The button is easy to press, which allows for one-handed use. There is also an LED light on the button that flashes to the same pattern as the current vibration, so this toy can be used in the dark.

The vibrations can be felt on the entire massager, and travel almost halfway up the cord. With 10 different vibration patterns, there is something that everyone can enjoy. The sequence of the patterns are printed with pictures on the instruction paper. They are as follows:
1. Vibrate (high)
2. Vibrate (medium)
3. Vibrate (low)
4. Gradient Burst
5. Intermittent
6. Surge
7. Inta-Surge
8. Even Step
9. Roller Coaster Spurt
10. Pulsate

Although most patterns are buzzy, the Surge and the Gradient Burst are fairly rumbly. Some of the patterns can be fairly noisy.

The battery compartment is easy to assemble into the power pack. There are arrows and diagrams to assist in the process, so even first-time users should have no problem during assembly.

This is not a waterproof toy, so use caution during use and while cleaning that moisture does not come into contact with the battery pack and/or cord.

One drawback is that when you turn the massager back on, it does not pick up where the user left off during the previous use. For example, if turned off after the Surge pattern, it will resume at the next pattern which is Inta-Surge when turned back on.

Both the power pack and massager of this toy are made of plastic, which is an 8 on the EdenFantasys Material Safety scale. It can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water or by wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol. This toy is not waterproof, so do not submerge the toy during cleaning. Due to the plastic material, this toy stays lint-free during storage. Wash toy before and after use.

The Precious Metal Jewels comes in a a fun, brightly colored package. The toy is clearly visible through the packaging, so I would not consider this a discreet package. However, there are no half-naked ladies on the package.

The toy arrives in a molded tray inside of the plastic box. This toy could easily be stored in this packaging. The cord is neatly wrapped in a twist-tie, and the power pack and mini-massager have a thin, clear plastic wrapping around them. Be sure to remove this plastic wrapping before use, as it has hard, somewhat sharp edges that would not make for a pleasurable experience.

The back of the packaging has a labeled picture of the product, which can be helpful to beginners. In addition to this graphic, there are printed directions inside of the package on how to install the batteries.

I was originally perplexed about the statement on the package, "For external use only." Some of the vibrations are much too strong for external use. I finally came to the conclusion that since this is not a waterproof toy, internal use would shorten the lifespan of this product. To use internally, I would suggest using either a condom or toy cover to keep the massager and cord dry.

My first thoughts when I opened the shipping box and saw this toy was that it looked like some sort of electronic device. The packaging is very vibrant and playful; the toy almost looks like an electronic music device. Upon opening the package, I was pleased to see that there were instructions on how to install the batteries. This was quite refreshing, since all other battery-operated toys I own did not come with instructions and trying to figure out how to install the batteries was often frustrating. Assembly was easy, and then I was ready to play.

I used this toy solo. I wanted to try it externally, since the packaging stated "Not for internal use" (see Personal Comments). However, the first vibration patterns were quite strong, and I soon dropped the massager because it was making my hand go numb. I was able to cycle through and find a weaker pattern. The massager felt nice externally. I decided to try it internally to see if the stronger vibrations were more appealing that way. And, indeed, they were. I found this toy most enjoyable in the surge and gradient patterns. I inserted the massager, positioned the cord so that it was lightly vibrating against my clitoris, and wondered how well it would stay in place if I were to stand up. Creativity prevailed, and I found myself using this massager similar to vaginal balls. I kept the cord in its enjoyable, stimulating position with my panties, and I was able to go hands-free by slipping the power pack into the waist elastic. This made my household chores much more enjoyable.
