Pros
Soft silicone, rechargeable, easy to hold, strong suction, quiet
Cons
A bit difficult to get the angle right, a smaller mouth than other similar toys
I’ve used my fair share of air pulse and air suction toys, and they have quickly moved to the top of my list of favorites. With these toys, I have found that they don’t make my clit feel overly sensitive, and I am able to have multiple orgasms without any numbness. I’ve used quite a few toys from LELO over the years and have always been impressed with the quality of their products. The Sona is no exception, it arrived in a black and white box with the Sona, charging cord, a black fabric storage bag, and a small packet of lubricant. The Sona is made of soft and beautiful pink silicone with a gold accent and holding it in your hand, you can feel the difference that this is a luxury toy. I charged it for 2 hours, and before my first use, I tested out 8 different patterns on my hand and adjusted the intensity using the - and +. I did notice, compared to my other toys, that the suction with the Sona felt very different; LELO uses “sonic waves”, but the toy had somewhat of a rumbly vibration feel to it as well.
I have found that toys that use airflow or suction tend to work best with a bit of lubricant to create a seal, and I decided to try out the included lubricant on my first try with this toy, but any water-based lubricant would work fine. The mouth of this toy is angled slightly different than other airflow and suction toys I’ve used in the past, and it’s quite a bit smaller. With my other airflow and suction toys, once I find the right spot, I am able to orgasm very quickly - usually within a minute or so for my first. With the Sona, though, it took a couple of tries adjusting to get the placement right, and even then, it didn’t feel as comfortable as my other toys. On the higher settings, it felt like it was assaulting my clit, but on the lower settings, I could barely feel it. I tried a few different positions and ultimately settled on standing because the angle felt best this way. I’m not sure if it was just because of the trial and error, but my first orgasm with this toy wasn’t the mind-blowing experience I have had with others.

Experience
I wanted to like this toy, the reviews I had read were outstanding, and I have always loved LELO toys, so I tried using the Sona multiple times over the next few days. Each time it felt like it took longer than the time before to find the right spot, and I felt like I was constantly flipping back and forth between either a setting that was too light or a setting that borderline hurt. I tried using the toy lying on my back, on my hands and knees, and standing up. Each time I felt the most comfortable and felt like I got the best angle standing which was different from my other airflow toys. I’m not going to lie the Sona frustrated me a bit because I didn’t immediately get the hang of it, but probably on my fourth or fifth try, I realized that I didn’t need to apply the same amount of pressure to create a seal like I did with my others. Once I realized I only needed to lightly hover vs. placing the mouth of the Sona directly over my clit, though…it was game over. With the right angle and very slight pressure, this toy delivered, and I was able to use the higher settings that I didn’t previously enjoy. This just goes to show that no matter how experienced you are with a specific toy type or brand, sometimes it really just is getting the right feel for it. The hype of this toy is real, I was able to have 8 orgasms in a row before I felt exhausted from experience…but my clit could have kept going.

Thank you for viewing LELO Sona – clit sucker review page!
This is an extremely useful review. If I had bought this without reading this, I probably would have returned the item before I got the hang of it. Now I know I will have to play to get the hang of it. Excellent.
