Quality, Quality, Quality.
The Sailor's overall quality is by far the best feature of the toy, but once you're done being amazed by the structure and design, the vibrations, texture, and g-spot stimulation will quickly grab your attention.

Pros
Quality, texture, consistent vibrations, multi-speed, hits the g-spot
Cons
Not entirely waterproof, may be too big for beginners.
The JoyDivision Sailor arrived at my house in a classy but cardboard silver box showcasing all of its neon pink glory. Also enclosed were a silver satin storage bag, a packet of Joy Division water based lube, an instructional pamphlet, and a fold out brochure showcasing all of their other drool-inducing toys and products. There are no photos or cheesy imagery on the box, just some bright colored script and lots of toy info in several different languages.
Once I had the time to play with this toy and experience it’s possibilities, I’ve found that besides the shape, it is remarkably simple. And I mean that in the best possible way. The toy is 8-1/2” long with just about 7” of that being insertable. At its widest point, it is 5-1/2” around and at the head which is slight tapered it is just over 4” around. It has a plastic base and a textured and curved super bright pink neon silicone body. The very end is where the curve lies to carefully target the g-spot. The front and back sides of the body have a rippling bubble texture while the sides are smooth. The bubbles are my favorite feature of the toy as they can be felt easily during thrusting and the additional stimulation makes the orgasms from this toy even stronger. The silicone on this toy is remarkably plush and thick enough that you can’t feel every mechanical element easily through it. It also has quite a bit of flex in it from about 1/3 of the way from the base all the way to the top. The silicone has no smell or taste whatsoever and, besides being a bit of a lint-magnet, is of absolutely incredible quality.
This toy runs on 2 AA batteries that last quite a while and is operated by a basic rotating dial control at the base of the toy. The dial is ribbed to make it easier to hold and control if your fingers get lubed up, which I think is just another indicator as to how much thought and design research was put into the Sailor. When you turn the dial, it goes from low to about a medium high and is just slightly louder than my cell phone’s vibration at its highest speed. It can be heard through a pillow or a comforter, but not through a closed door when playing under the covers. It could probably be covered up by a running shower, but that might not be practical as the toy is only splash-proof. I have had no issues with water getting in while cleaning the toy, but since it is not meant to be submerged in water, I wouldn’t risk a toy this great. And although the volume on this toy is fairly discreet, the shape and size are not. This is definitely not an on-the-go toy or something that can be hidden in a small space.
Quality is definitely the most noticeable feature of this toy. From the plush, body safe, latex free, and phthalate free silicone, to the seamless bubbled design, to the strong consistent motors and unmovable vibrations. It is designed to function extremely well and built to last. I would even be very comfortable giving this as a gift as it comes with an attractive box and is far from a cheap novelty.
This toy would be suitable for just about anyone. The only people I wouldn’t recommend it for are those that are brand new to toys and not comfortable with something of this length and diameter, and those who require either really hard g-spot or clitoral pressure to orgasm. This toy is clearly meant for penetration and, although it can be held against the clit to enjoy the vibrations, the size makes that a little awkward. It is also not an anal toy as it is not designed for anal play and would not be considered safe. Otherwise it is well suited for any other level of experience, and singles and couples alike. Although I have only had it for a short time, I am confident that this toy will hold up well and serve me for years to come.
Because this toy is made of silicone, it should not be used with silicone lube to avoid damaging the toy. When you’re done playing with this toy, it can be washed with soap and water, toy cleaner, and the silicone portion can be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution. I keep mine in the satin drawstring bag that it came with since it does like to collect hair and dust.

Experience
Now on to the good stuff. This toy is perfect for anyone seeking a textured penetration experience. The silicone is plush enough that the bubbles down the side can be felt when thrusting, but for those that are more sensitive (like myself), they are not painful or even uncomfortable. I’ve used a lot of textured toys and this one has a really nice balance of noticeable texture and squeezable softness. Its length also lends itself to being used in several different positions. It’s got enough flexibility to be used when sitting up or lying down, and can be held by the user in solo play or by a partner, and still easily and fully controlled. In addition, bending the toy doesn’t seem to slow the vibrations at all like some other toys do.
The g-spot curve at the end should be enough stimulation for those that don’t require really extreme pressure to fully enjoy that kind of stimulation. Because it’s so flexible and soft, the toy can only supply a moderate amount of pressure. However, the curve on the toy coupled with the vibrations, should be enough for most people to be very well pleased. Its length is also useful again here, as it is suitable for those with higher and lower g-spots. There shouldn’t be anyone for whom this toy can’t reach the g-spot or even provide a really satisfying penetration, lengthwise.
The vibrations of this toy aren’t earth shattering. They are however more than adequate, even through the plush silicone. It definitely carries through better in the bottom half of the toy where the motor is, but can still be felt in the tip if the toy. It’s not a buzzy vibration but it doesn’t quite rumble through the toy either – it’s about halfway in between the two.
I would've given this toy 4.5 stars if I could have - the only flaws at all are that it is not entirely waterproof and that it might not be suitable for beginners.
