The Shello is another in the German-made Joystick line of vibrators. Much like the Wonder Water, the Shello has an oceanic aesthetic, reflected not only in the starfish and shell shapes that decorate either side of the base, but in the rippled ridges that make its shaft especially stimulating. In keeping with its watery theme, it's also water resistant - a silicone ring seals the battery compartment. Use it in the tub or shower, but avoid immersing the compartment in water to keep it in tip top shape.

It's made of firm and velvety silicone over a firmer shaft. Mine is in an opaque, pale pink that fits with its shell theme. Like the Wonder Water, it' rather bendable at the middle.

The point is slightly upturned, and a series of ridges adorn the bottom side of the upturned shaft, making it a stimulating penetrator. The fact that the tip is narrowed and the ridges gradually build up the thickness, it is easier to insert than if it were only one width, but the width of the main shaft is too generous for my tastes. It's definitely a filling shaft, one whose ridges repeat and enhance the sensation of penetration. It's not exactly a Gspot vibe, despite the slightly curved tip. Unless you turn it around, the ridges will stimulate not the wall of the vagina where the Gspot resides, but the wall that faces your ass. This is a unique feature, and while I wasn't a huge fan, some people will enjoy it.

The simple plastic dial turns the motor on and gradually increases the vibration speeds. It seems that the motor is the same one as in the Wonder Water: I used it mostly on high or near-high because it's not very strong, but it is enough to get me off. The vibes are more deep and throbby than they are tinny and shallow.

The motor is covered for two years; the materials are covered for five years under the warranty. The German-made Joystick vibes are well-priced basic silicone vibes, and they look and act like they'll last at least as long as their warranty indicates - which is really quite long compared to the usual lifespans of all of those mass-produced, made-in-China battery-operated vibes.

Because it has electrical components, you cannot boil this entire silicone and plastic vibe in order to sterilize it. You can, however, wash it with a 10% bleach and water solution, then wash again with soap and water and rinse well in order to sterilize the pure silicone shaft.

Use only water-based lube on this silicone shaft.

It takes 2 AA batteries, and to extend the life of the toy, also be sure to remove the batteries for storage.

Very uniquely, this German-made vibe comes with a 5-year warranty on the materials and a 2-year warranty on all other parts. You must keep your original sales receipt in order for your warranty to be honored.

The Shello came in a box that's meant to be thrown away. Unlike the other vibe in this line I received, there was no lube sample included.
