Partly Pleasing Personal Pleasurizer

The personal pleasurizer was a toy that I wanted to love, but couldn't. The best features on the entire toy are the little fingers on the clitoral stimulator part and the wide variation of vibration patterns, but those alone weren't enough to save it in my eyes. From the extremely flimsy and almost unnoticeable G-spot stimulation on the shaft to the battery eating motor to the really loud clicky noise mine made when cycling through settings, I felt almost cheated for purchasing the toy.

Use

The Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer by California Exotics is a toy with a unique design and flamboyant color choice. It's made from TPR and runs off of two AAA batteries. Advertised as both a clitoral and G-spot stimulator, the small, waterproof design, quiet noise, low price and varied texture would make a good toy for beginners or those built on the petite side.

Material / Texture

The toy is made of TPR. It gives off a slight odor, nothing too bad but one that is noticeable when you stick the toy right up under your nose. It's not sticky like some TPR toys can be, but it definitely has a bit of 'drag' to it, so for some lube might be a must. If that's the case, any water or silicone based lube will work just fine with the toy.

For the most part, the toy is smooth, with the exception of the clitoral stimulator part. It has little fingers/nubs, and these add so much to the toy. They tease and tickle at the clit, it's not overpowering, and without it the toy really wouldn't be much. I think that it would make a great introduction for beginners/those new to textured toys.

Design / Shape / Size

The pleasurizer has a very unique shape and a really small size. The actual bit of the toy that you use in/on you reminds me of a reverse J in shape. There's a 'platform' on the end of the shaft that's supposed to directly hit the G-spot, the shaft, then it curves down and back up a bit to form a 'cup' that cradles my clit perfectly when inserted. The cup has little fingers or nubs on it that aren't an assault in sensation; instead, it's very gentle, almost teasing at first, but builds as the vibrations build and creates an extreme (and entirely new to me) feeling that allowed for a great orgasm.

Like I said, the size of the toy is small. It's about 7 inches long, but the end cap is almost two inches, and the insertable length of the shaft is really about 2 1/2", so there's another three inches that's all motor. The diameter of the shaft is about an inch, so it's not girthy at all. Overall, it'd be great for someone who's smaller or new to insertable toys.

I definitely wouldn't take this toy traveling with me, not only because of its shape and overall size, but also because of the material. As stated before, TPR is a lint and dirt magnet so it'd be really hard to tote it around without getting it all fuzzy and dirty, and with TPR toys you need to clean them before each use so it's a little more maintenance than it's worth during travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Personal Pleasurizer is described as a G-spot and clitoral vibrator/stimultaor, but in my experience I only got the clitoral vibrations. The motor is located right below the 'cup', and I think that the design was such that the vibrations should have traveled up the shaft to the G-spot 'platform', but again, I didn't feel anything there. Instead, the vibrations were concentrated right at the cup, and the nubs and fingers added a sensation that gave me a clitoral orgasm, but not the deep G-spot one that I was expecting.

It has 9 (yes, 9) different vibration settings, the three standard low/medium/high, and six others that alternate between pulsing and escalating. The fourth setting was by far my favorite, with four short pulses of high intensity followed by a second of nothing. The low setting is so low that it's almost non-existent, and when the batteries are running low and you're trying to cycle through settings the toy will just stop after a pulse.

It's controlled by a push button on the bottom of the plastic cap. You push the button to turn the toy on and it starts out on the lowest setting, click again for medium, again for high, etc. You have to cycle through all the settings to turn the toy off, and the actual click of the button is louder in some cases than the noise made by the vibration of the toy.

It is waterproof, and in the shower it preformed the same as out. The cap clicks on when you twist it, and it creates a water-tight seal. I checked the battery compartment after a go in the bath, and no water or signs of water damage could be found.

Care and Maintenance

The insertable part of the toy is made from TPR, and the end cap is plastic. TPR, despite being phthalates free, latex free, hypoallergenic and receiving a 7 on the safety scale, has its downfalls. You can't boil it or use bleach to clean it but you can use warm water and soap or toy cleaner. It's somewhat porous so if you plan on sharing, use a condom. The plastic cap can be wiped down the same way, and with the waterproof design you needn't worry about running it under a tap to clean.

TPR also gives off a slight odor...not a horrific smell, but one that is noticeable if you get close enough to the toy. It needs to be cleaned before and after each use because it's a lint magnet; even if you don't think there's any fuzzies around, they will find their way to the toy. Because the clitoral stimulator part has little fingers, extra attention should be given to that part whilst cleaning.

Both water and silicone based lubes are safe to use with the toy.

Packaging

The personal pleasurizer came in a clear plastic package and contained instructions on how to put the batteries in and turn it on. It's definitely not a discreet or travel friendly package, but I kept mine to store the toy in and protect it from lint and fuzzies.

Personal comments

The design of the toy, in my opinion, could have been better. A little rigidity to the shaft would have enhanced the G-spot platform so much. The idea is great, the design just definitely needs a little work.
Follow-up commentary
I'm still not a huge fan of the platinum edition personal pleasurizer on its own, but I have found a use for it that makes the toy work better for me.
I've found that using a plug anally pushes on the g-spot platform and adds pressure like the toy was designed to do. This way, I finally get the sensations both internally and externally. The internal vibrations still aren't strong, but the plug also holds the pleasurizer in place and my hands are free to work on other parts of my body, or hold the clitoral cup firmly in place and get amazing vibrations there. Using a vibrating plug like the seduction add a few more vibrations internally and leads to an amazing orgasm.

If you've run into the same problems I have, try using the toy in addition to a plug. Had I tried this first I wouldn't have been as disappointed as I initially was.
