Use

The Symphony Opus from Evolved Novelties is a super flexible, gorgeous G-spotting vibe that deliciously hits and stimulates all of your sweet spots. The bullet that drives the vibe is located at the tip of the shaft rather than the bottom, so it's also ideal for clit play. The G-spot tip tapers down into a girthy 1 3/4" diameter, so it's perfect for those starting out or more advanced vibe whores that love their buzzing with more width.

Material / Texture

Opus is made from latex-free, hypoallergenic, phthalate-free medical grade TPR (thermoplastic rubber) so it's super flexible. It's very smooth with raised oval designs along the shaft that begin about 2" below the very tip. The Opus doesn't taste bad or stink; the only smell I noticed was a faint soapy perfume smell that wasn't bad at all and disappeared when I washed it. The Opus does attract little fuzzies here and there, so be sure to wash it before and after each use.

Design / Shape / Size

I am head over fucking heels in love with the design of this vibrator. The tip looks like a lipstick that's been used a bit and that's where the bullet is housed. After the lipstick tip, the shape kind of juts out slightly, then back in again and begins to taper down. There are three main "humps" that make up the rest of the shaft, each a little bigger than the preceding one. The 8" (with 6" being insertable) tapered shaft is advantageous for those with tighter anatomies or aren't sure how much of the Opus to take in. You can completely control the depth and width you want to play with, as well as the angle.

The single push-button control is located at the very end of the vibe on the velvety pink plastic battery cap. It's very easy to press the button down and you hear/feel a satisfying click with each press of the tiny button. Since the button is so easy to push, I wouldn't recommend throwing it in a bag with a lot of things rumbling around.

As for traveling, this vibe isn't exactly discreet. Yes, it's VERY quiet, and even more so under covers or in water, but it is a bit obvious when it's seen that it's a vibrator. Of course, if a girlfriend sees it they may steal it from you because it's THAT cute and irresistible.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I've always heard fantastic things about Evolved vibes and now I know why. It's quiet but powerful. This is my new go-to vibe, hands down.

There are three settings that you control with the push of a finger. The first setting is nice and rumbly and can be felt throughout the length of the shaft. The second setting is more rumbly-er and more powerful and had me wondering if I could even handle the last setting. Holy GOD. The third setting is a steady, bone-rattling vibration that made my thighs weak and my G-spot very very happy. After that last setting, just click the button once more to turn off the toy instantly. I love the push-button controls and this has been the easiest to use by far. There's no fumbling around for the button, either, because it's located on the battery cap at the end of the vibe and is like a nipple. The end of the vibe is plastic and kind of pointy, but no complaints here. Turn it upside down and it looks like the Pope's hat a little bit.

After a full half hour of buzzing away into bliss with my new buddy, I noticed absolutely no loss in power or strength of vibrations. As I said, the Opus is quiet and most definitely will not be noticed through a closed door, even if you're using it in the shower or bath.

I'm always skeptical of waterproof toys; I love this one so much that the thought of killing it via drowning scared me away from the water for a few long painful hours. We hopped in the bath (well, not hopped because that's just stupid) and I timidly submerged the vibe for approximately 6 seconds while it was on. It seemed to be okay, so I dunked it again, this time for 20 seconds. I realized I couldn't do this all day and finally submerged the toy fully and had some bath time fun. After we were through playing, I dried the toy off and checked the battery compartment. No water leached inside which made me very happy indeed.

To insert the batteries, screw off the pink (or purple) plastic cap and take out the little battery housing thing (I don't know what else to call it). There are clear directions for how the 2 AA batteries are to be positioned, and directions for how the housing thing goes back inside the vibe. Screw the cap back on TIGHTLY before you go near the water.

Care and Maintenance

Luckily, TPR is compatible with water-based and silicone lubes so find a good silicone lube to have fun with in the tub. TPR is somewhat porous, so if your share your toys, you must use a condom. You cannot disinfect the Opus by boiling it; wash it with lukewarm water and a mild antibacterial soap or toy cleaner, and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Packaging

All Evolved vibes come in beautiful packaging. The Symphony line come housed in bright red tin boxes like this one. They remind me of old-fashioned breadboxes my grandmother brought home from Germany (though I doubt she kept sex toys in hers). You can clearly see the vibe through the cut-out window on the front, and on the back of the box, Evolved gives you a lot of information about the vibe, though only in English.

The Opus came nestled in a velvet-coated piece of foam, with another foam piece buffering it underneath. This makes a nice house for your vibe so it won't get hurt or bumped or get contamination from any of your other toys. The box guarantees a perfect place to store your Opus when it isn't making you scream, and it makes a lovely gift, no wrapping required.

Experience

This was my first experience with an Evolved vibe and I'm definitely going to be adding to my collection in the future. This powerful vibe got me off in record time and I'm even considering naming it.
Follow-up commentary
I still love my Opus and use it almost nightly for clit stimulation. I'm beginning to really go through pounds of AA batteries and I think Al Gore has put me on his shitlist because of it. I have other vibes that do wonders in their own right, but the Opus always calls out my name. It's so simple to use and it always works and gives me what I need, when I need it. The only problem is the fuzzies that stick to the tip and shaft. I once found my long-haired black cat chewing on the tip and I had to wash the vibe 3 times to free it of hairs. Luckily, her demon teeth didn't pierce the vibe's flesh. I think I want another Opus in case mine dies or runs away from home or gets stolen. I need some insurance.
