Nonplussed About this Pulse Probe

As mentioned, I'm a little perplexed by this toy. Is it an anal toy? A G-spot stimulator? A clit vibe? The packaging doesn't offer any help, and neither does the shape/vibration layout. Still, it's easy to use, easy to clean and it has decent vibrations, so maybe you'll find the perfect place for it on your body. Personally, it didn't do any of those particularly well, so it's nothing something I'll be reaching for any time soon.

Use

From the get-go, this toy left me perplexed. It's listed on the Eden site as an anal toy, and yet there's no flared base or any other indication it's meant for anal play. So I tried it out as what it seemed to actually be for, which is G-spot/clitoral stimulation.

Oddly for a vibrating toy that seems bent and bulbed just right for G-spot stimulation, there is little to no stimulation in the end. All of the vibration happens in the shaft. As a G-spot vibe, it didn't really do much for me.

I tried it as a clit vibe too, but found that the vibrations just weren't the intensity that I would like.

There isn't much of a handle to hold on to at the end, so I found it difficult to easily hold and position. My partner (who has fairly large hands) also didn't find it particularly easy to maneuver.

Material / Texture

According to the packaging, this toy is 100 percent silicone. The bulb is clear/off-white and smooth, while the shaft is a rather horrible shade of near-neon pink and is lightly ridged. I found that the ridges didn't seem to add to the sensation for me.

There is no smell and no taste to the product, which is a definite plus.

The handle (if you can call it that -- it's really more of a knob that turns the vibration speed up and down) appears to be made out of some kind of hard, shiny plastic.

Design / Shape / Size

As mentioned earlier, the design of the product appearance-wise seems to indicate that it is made for G-spot stimulation but the lack of vibrations at the tip make it less useful for that. Might work for some as a clit stimulator.

The insertable length is about 6.5 inches with most of the shaft being fairly rigid inside the the squishy silicone. It has a nice feel in your hands but as I mentioned, the shape doesn't seem to know quite what it wants to do as a sex toy.

My biggest gripe is that the handle is ... well, not even really a handle. It's a little plastic knob that turns from off to low vibe to higher vibe. There's really nothing to get a grip on when it's inside you. Which makes it difficult to use as a thrusting vibe in any way, and decreases its potential for partner play.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibe takes two AAA batteries, and they just slip into the end and then you screw the cap/holder on. The vibes go from very mild to somewhat strong, but they're nothing fantastic in terms of strength. It's fairly quiet overall, but again not that quite in comparison to the strength of the vibes.

There's no vibe in the bulbed tip at all; they seem to be located along the shaft, with much of the real work being done close to the handle than to the tip.

One important caveat: It's VERY easy to accidentally try and turn the vibe down or off and end up taking the cap all the way off. Frustrating as a general rule, but also sucky if you're trying to use it in the shower.
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is very easy to care for, which is one of the great things about it. This toy, being waterproof, is also dishwasher safe, which is a bonus. Just make sure you take the batteries out first and screw the end back on all the way.

It doesn't seem to pick up hair or lint at all, which is quite nice, and the material doesn't seem to be prone to scratches or cuts.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
Still don't love this vibe. There's so little to like that I just can't bring myself to keep it. And the neon bright pink is probably making my vision go bad.

I agree that this seems more suited for g-spot stimulation than anal. Thanks for the review.
