No Hitachi, but a good massager nonetheless
The My Miracle Massager is decently powerful and has a lot of good features and a nice, ergonomic design, but it's just not as powerful as a Hitachi. It's good, but not amazing.

Pros
Light, ergonomic design; quiet but powerful; spring-mounted head; phthalates free
Cons
Not as powerful as a Hitachi; spring can pull hair; can be hard to get enough pressure
When I decided to get the My Miracle Massager to review, I had really hoped it would be just like my Hitachi, only better. Unfortunately, while this massager does have some good features and a lot of power, it's no Hitachi.
The My Miracle Massager is an improvement on the Hitachi in a few ways. For starters, it's tons quieter, which is a major plus for people with roommates, thin walls, parents, etc. It's also cuter; white with a softer pink, ribbed, phthalates free, pvc head (that's a mouthful). It is also much easier to use in that it won't kill your wrists while you try to get it in the right position because it has a slight curve to it and is much lighter than a Hitachi.
The head is also on a spring, making maneuvering even easier. I have had a few problems with the springy head, however. One unpleasant thing to watch out for with us…less shaved women…is getting hair pulled in the spring. Nothing kills the mood like some pulled pubic hair. The other problem I've noticed is that the springy head can actually make it harder for me to get enough pressure on my clit because I can't push it down hard enough. The spring may actually be a hindrance for those of us who like a lot of pressure.
Now the main problem I had with this massager is the power. This thing just can't match the power of a Hitachi. It plugs into an outlet and has a low and a high setting like a Hitachi, but the intensity of the vibration can't match it. I would say the high setting on the My Miracle Massager is about equal with the low setting on the Hitachi; maybe even a little less. It still has enough power to get me off if I'm good and horny, but I mostly just use it to warm up before switching to my Hitachi.
I know I am mostly just comparing the My Miracle Massager to the Hitachi Magic Wand, but that's what I wanted to know most. How my new massager stood up to my old one. The Miracle Massager is no Hitachi, but it does a pretty decent job and has some great features. It is still a powerful massager, and is definitely quieter and easier on the wrists. If you don't need a ton of power and pressure to get off, this may be perfect for you.

Experience
I mostly just use the My Miracle Massager for a good warm up before switching to my Hitachi. It does quick work of turning me on and getting me ready for more. And sometimes I do actually use it to get off if I'm horny enough.
Follow-up commentary
22 months after original review
This vibrator has seen a lot of use, and it's still one of my favorites. The words "My Miracle Massager" have worn off on the side, but it still works just as well as it did when I first bought it. My cat even chewed through part of the cord (which I covered with electrical tape), and it still keeps ticking.

For someone who has never used a Hitachi, would you recommend trying one of these more affordable "hitachi style" wands first? Or do you think this is a case where it is best to wait and go for the real deal?

Have you tried the Vibratex Mystic Wand? I was wondering how it compared to this and the Hitachi.
