Although not waterproof - the battery compartment has an O-ring to keep water out, and the protected controls mean you can get it wet without worrying about shorting it out.

The vibes are available in low-med-high and three patterns. Although my wife is not all that fond of patterns, she does play with them as an occasional change-of-pace. The medium setting is usually enough - but when necessary, it's great to have the reserve power of high to close the deal.

Although new, I expect the Mystic Wand to last a very long time - it just seems so well made. It's also quite small, light and compact for a toy offering so much power. For those of you who like rechargeable - you can use rechargeable AAs in this toy.

Sound is always an issue - even when there isn't anyone around, we don't want a buzz-saw to distract us. The Mystic Wand's sound profile is quite acceptable - as you would expect the greatest sound coming on the highest settings, but nothing objectionable.

As I mentioned, clean-up is a easy. Mild soap and water cleans the wand nicely.

So the bottom line question is - 'Does the Mystic Wand work well enough to replace my wife's favorite Lanny's Vivd Dreams?'

At first, I thought so - but last night she asked when her new Lanny's would be coming! When I asked why - she said that it isn't a power issue - it's just that the frequency of the two differ - so I'll be re-ordering Lanny soon! Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
