Overall I love this vibe. Smart design with a great material and strong precise vibrations make it a winner. There are a few "faults" with the Aries but they are minor enough for me to keep on using my favorite new friend. The Aries offers a velvety feel with a great shape and perfect size with plenty of girth. All the things I personally love in a vibe. Plus the ram is simply adorable.

Pros
Great material and design. Intense, well distributed vibrations and perfect size, shape and feel.
Cons
Not waterproof. Battery compartment opens easily while adjusting speed. Time consuming to clean.
I can't say what the best use for this vibe is since I just loved every way that I used the Astrovibe Aries. It's meant for insertion and feels great for that. The Astrovibe Aries is great for the G spot and is awesome for clit stimulation - it's definitely good when used either way. I enjoyed it in solo play more than once and I will definitely again. Partner use is highly suggested as well; my man loved using this on me and I had not one complaint. It felt great everywhere: the pinpoint localized vibrations on the "nose" felt awesome on my breasts, nipples and my clit. By design and function the Aries is near genius in my book. Not total genius, but certainly near genius and is definitely a keeper. I will be using this one quite frequently I might add.
I love this material, but I would love it since I'm a huge silicone fan. It's very smooth with a soft almost velvety feel to it. Silicone is non-porous so it won't absorb any fluid which makes it a safer material. Silicone is relatively easy to clean as well. It had absolutely no odor at all when I removed it from it's packaging. I found that the material was able to transmit the vibrations very well too. This vibe was not too stiff and firm to enjoy rather roughly internally. Since this is a larger toy it did hit my cervix and it did not cause any discomfort since the material is flexible. It's able to bend pretty well conversely, the Aries is also not too flexible either. I've had that problem before where it was too flexible to control well and there will be no problems like that with the Aries. The base is made of plastic so it is easy to grip with minimal slipping issues if any. It's made by Fun Factory so I figured I would love this because in my experience they make solid good quality toys out of good material.
I loved this design a lot. The tip or "nose" are pointed and slightly flexible. The motor is located in the tip so the vibrations are very intense at this point and felt AMAZING on my clit. I loved the ram shape and design too due to the fact that it was adorable. It even has a sassy little smile on its face. It's much narrower at the tip and widens toward the base. This makes it extra nice because it can be gradually eased in for insertion and is not just girth all the way. (Don't worry there is girth though.) This vibe is able to bend pretty well inside too which makes it very easy to get it in the exact position you want. Pinpoint stimulation is definitely possible with the Aries. The size is perfect in my opinion. Not a size queen myself, but I will definitely welcome a fairly large toy. The insertable length is 6 1/2" which for me was perfect and the diameter of 1 5/8" towards the base is awesome too. By the time the toy was fully inserted I definitely was pretty "full" and loved it. Due to the flexibility of the material it was not one bit uncomfortable. The best way I can describe the design is that it is made to mold to your shape when you need it too.
The vibrations are in the tip, but do travel throughout the vibe really well. There were no other functions on the Aries besides the on, adjust up and then back off. The control is a plastic knob on the very base of the toy which is very easy to adjust. Now for a little bad here. The batteries are also inserted at the base. There's a threaded cap that includes the vibration control that opens the toy to where the batteries are placed. This comes open kind of easily while trying to adjust the vibrations. It happened a few times and it was slightly annoying. Just slightly annoying because the vibe itself is awesome enough to make up for this flaw. On the bright side it is also very easy to get back on too. The Aries I must say is one of the quietest toys that I own. On full speed it's a lower hum that isn't obnoxious. I barely even notice it to be honest. It's audible in the same room, but not through a closed door. Aside from the base coming apart when adjusting occasionally I give the performance two thumbs up.
Okay well here is the rest of the bad I have to tell you about the Aries. Pain in the ass to clean. The Aries is not waterproof or splashproof. Silicone itself is very easy to clean except when it has numerous grooves in the tip that include tiny little eye indents, a mouth, nose and fairly detailed curled ram horns. It takes a few minutes and I mean two to three minutes to make sure you get into all the small grooves and have him 100% clean. Since Aries is not waterproof you can't just wash him in the sink carelessly either. I wash it with soap and water taking care to avoid the base. I needed my fingernail and/or rag to get into all the grooves. The base I cleaned with a toy cleaning wipe which worked really well. Easy storage though. Just goes back in my toy box. Now as far as lubes go it is definitely necessary to use a water based lube. Silicone toy + silicone lube = JUST NOT COMPATIBLE. Given that the material is so velvety a decent water based lube used with this feels awesome.
Fun Factory packaging is always kind of cool in my opinion. It comes in a magnetic box with the front open so if you take the cheap plastic out and want to keep the Aries in it just wouldn't work. There were instructions included in the package. Also on the box are details about the material including safety and properties. In addition it describes briefly on the box how to use it and that it can be used internally or externally. The box is cute but not one I would keep for storage. I recycled the cardboard and my boyfriend made sure to keep the magnets because he's just the kind of guy that would. He used them in the garage for something or other.

Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
I absolutely love my Astrovibe. I use it fairly regularly, the original batteries are still going strong and none of the power has waned at all. The silicone is holding up very well. It is of course a little time consuming to get really clean especially since it is not waterproof but I still absolutely adore this vibe. To be able to get fun factory silicone at a less expensive price with fun factory quality for the sacrifice of a vibe that is not waterproof is totally worth it to me. If anything ever happened to this I would definitely replace it. I should probably look into the other Astrovibes since I do love this one so much.
