Make It a Baker's Dozen
What the Silicone Bendable Rose lacks in power it kind of makes up for in cute ideas. This is not the one vibe you want to get stuck on a desert island with. It is, however, a nice little novelty vibe that might get things working in the right direction if you are new to sex toys or vibrators.

The Evolved Bendable Silicone Rose is not exactly the perfect alternative to a dozen red roses. That is to say, I would not recommend just giving her a vibrator and then expect the same results that you might get from flowers. However, adding the Evolved Rose to a dozen roses probably says exactly what you are feeling: I love you dearly…and I want to get naked so I can make you come.
The Evolved Bendable Silicone Rose is a well-intentioned idea. The ‘rose’ comes in a clear tube with a red ribbon and gift tab, kind of like single roses that you might find in the grocery store. The base contains 2 AAA batteries and has a push button that cycles it through the 3 speeds and 4 pulse modes (hold the button down to shut it off). The packaging says it has 10 functions; we could only make the rose perform seven of them in spite of all our efforts. The thin green stem is coated in body safe silicone which is most likely a blended silicone and not 100% silicone. The rose itself is made from pure silicone and has sculpted petal detailing and a nice flexible tip. The bud portion of the Rose is 2.5 inches long and has a diameter of about one and a half inches. The overall length of the Rose is about eleven inches. The stem is about 3/8 inches in diameter.
The vibrations are not super powerful. They aren’t the super high skin numbing vibrations common to cheaper vibrators. They aren’t the thuddy rumbly vibrations Mrs. Peg needs to get off either. They are somewhere in the middle, and pretty middle of the road. We have used Evolved products with a much more satisfying vibrator in them. We wish this had a bit more rumble in the rose. They are not unpleasant, they just don’t get Mrs. Peg to orgasm either, at least not on their own.
The flexible stem on the Rose is really flexible allowing the tip of the rose to easily bend all the way to the bottom of the base. This flexibility is the one feature that both makes and breaks this toy. Because it is so flexible it doesn’t stand up to the firm pressure of pressing it up against you partner. If you are going to stimulate your partner with the bud, you have to hold the stem very close to the rose in order to have good control over it. Otherwise you can’t you can’t exert enough pressure, at least not enough pressure for Mrs. Peg.
We chose instead to insert the Rose into Mrs. Peg and then I went in after it. The ability to bend the stem upwards (or downwards) made it easier to control the vibrations. The bulbous shape of the rose makes it a decent g-spot toy even if the vibrations are a little lacking. Taking Mrs. Peg from behind with the rose inside allowed me to enjoy the vibrations as well.
Surprise, surprise: We did not try the Rose as an anal toy. While it looks like it might make a nice prostate massager, I had some real concerns about cleaning the stem. According to the manufacturer, the Rose is “completely waterproof” so it should stand up well to soaking in bleach or alcohol, but if the stem is blended silicone it won’t ever be truly clean. But, because it is waterproof the Rose will be fun in the shower or the tub too.
In the end, this is not the most exceptional vibrator we have tried. It is okay and it is very well suited for an introductory piece for someone new to sex toys. Frankly, it is a really cute idea. We just don’t feel that idea is being executed quite as well as it should be for this to be a really great toy.
