Leon is every bit a gentle vibrator designed for penetration and clitoral stimulation. He's non-threatening, brightly colored yellow and orange, mellow in his approach yet gets more intense with the press of a button.
This one is everything you expect from a traditional vibrator but made with safer materials and coupled with a decent size and splash proofing.
Leon is rather large so traveling around with him may be more obvious then not.
He's perfect for solo, partner and even shower play.
Leon arrived with no new toy smell and doesn't have any unusual tastes.
The vibrator is made of silicone so it is smooth with it's own velvet type texture. You can expect a soft pull when drawn across the skin. Once lubricated Leon glides and thrusts with ease. Lubrication should be water based as silicone lubes may damage the vibrator.
Leon is traditionally shaped, 8" in length and made to stretch and fill with a diameter of 1 5/8".
The vibrator is also slightly tapered which has it's pros and cons. The tapering can be used to stimulate the clitoris reaching rather nicely with it's tip. However, you need to be careful with thrusting depending on your body the tip may prove to be just enough to be an irritant.
Vibrations are centered in the tip of Leon so penetration allows the settings to be felt deep inside your body. This is also good for those who wish direct stimulation of the clitoris. If you enjoy it then Leon's tapered tip will drive you overboard. If the tip is too much you can always rub Leon's shaft over your clitoris for stimulation. There's still plenty of vibrations radiating throughout the shaft.
Leon is splash proof which means shower time can be 'Lovely Leon' time too.
Though enjoyable for anyone beginners may want to consider the girth of this toy.
The on/off switch is made into the bottom orange section of the vibrator. To avoid accidental turning on and off you have to hold the button for a second or so to get it to respond. Nice for protecting it from unintentionally coming on but annoying when you want a quick shut off. Because the button is located on the bottom I do find myself accidentally pressing it during play. In order to return to a favorite setting you have to scroll back through them all - I found that to be very distracting.
Leon has five vibration settings to explore. All of the vibrations are centralized in the tip.
The first is a low buzz - noticeable but not so inspiring and did mostly nothing for me personally
The second is more intense building on that first buzz - this one is nice when inserted and slowly rubbed against me - this one I prefer for partner play - for those excited by sound at this speed Leon moving slowly in and out sounds like a space ship taking off - hubby really seems to like that
The third is the highest setting - steady and stronger then the rest - just enough to finish the job
The fourth is a pulse - not overly strong and not so enjoyable for my tastes
The fifth is referred to as "climax" speed...it's a stronger pulse with the third setting buzz thrown in for a split second before pausing and starting again - externally it kinda feels like a baby jack hammer thudding but not really getting anywhere - internally it feels better vibrating through the body
Leon's volume isn't heard outside a door but in the room it is a bit loud. In the shower the sound of the water drowns most of the volume out. Yes, Leon is splash proof but that only means shower play no tub submersion.
Two AA batteries are required. I haven't noticed considerable drainage on the life of the batteries and shower time has not caused any issues with leakage into the compartment.
Silicone makes it as simple as cleaning with soap and water. You should be sure to wash Leon before and after use. The silicone material is quick to pick up lint.
Leon came in a box with windows so you can see the bright yellow and orange prize inside. There were no graphic pictures just lots of text on it. Instructions were included explaining the use, operation and recommendations for Leon. The box is just cardboard and can be easily recycled. I would recommend you get a bag to protect your vibrator in as it is silicone and prone to picking up lint. Leon can also be damaged if stored with other toys.
The instructions state "If you want to apply the vibrator anally, you have to be very careful, using a condom and sufficient lubricant." I wouldn't advise using Leon for this purpose because he does not have a flared base. Even though he's 8" I'd still be concerned. There's simply too many other safer toys that can be used anally.
Lovely Leon is truly a joy. I've used him so much I refer to 'him' as if he's got a personality. I choose Leon because he was a traditional vibrator but without the realistic appearance. I wanted something non-threatening to continue to introduce hubby to the world of using toys with me. The thickness actually makes gripping Leon easier for hubby's big hands but even he had an issue with the settings button on the bottom. Too easy to bump and change to a setting that didn't fit the tempo.
I do find Leon to be very comfortable and satisfying. I don't enjoy all of the settings but the ones that work are more then enough to keep me smiling. During solo play I enjoy using the tip for that direct clitoral stimulation. I don't find Leon to be a 'quickie' toy. In my case the intensity isn't there for it. For me Leon is not for Earth shattering orgasms but he is excellent for multiple smaller slowly intensifying orgasms. This makes using Leon great during foreplay.
If you are looking for a vibrator that is gentle and building this is definitely the one you want. I would say it was perfect for beginners with the exception of the thickness unless that is desired.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
Lovely Leon is still a vibrator I pull out often. I have never adapted to liking some of its pulses, but the rest are great for what I need, and the girth is appealing. It is also very non-threatening for the Hubby who is still getting comfortable with all my toys. Leon is a great vibrator for its price, and it is not a battery guzzler either which is great. So, yes, I still like it, and I will continue to enjoy this one and recommend it.
