Liv in the Lap of Luxury

A solid vibrator that just didn't work for me as a G-spot stimulator. Disappointing, but still deserving of being in the luxury category. Should definitely be a contender for your dollar.

Use

Use: The Liv vibrator, by Lelo, is a luxury vibrator with serious class. While the curve of the Liv was not right to stimulate my G-spot, I couldn't fault this girl's performance externally or vaginally. Liv has about five different patterns which you can then adjust in intensity. Her control panel is a simple white circle. Hold pressure on the plus button at the right of the circle to turn Liv on. Press down the minus button at the left of the circle to turn off. You can cycle through the modes using the up and down buttons and adjust intensity with the buttons on the left and right.

Liv has both buzzy and rumbly vibrations, depending on the setting you choose. I particularly enjoy some of her faster buzz settings and her roller coaster vibe.

Materials: Liv is made of silicone, which rates a 10 on the Eden safety scale. Silicone is super easy to clean in a variety of ways: soap and water, antibacterial spray or wipes. Just keep in mind that Liv isn't entirely waterproof as you clean her.

Material / Texture

Liv had no particular smell coming out of the packaging. Her silicone was very smooth, without too much drag. I suspect that her texture is aimed at beginners, though there's nothing that says an advanced user would dislike her either. Liv's texture doesn't particularly add to the experience of using her.

I have to give it to Lelo that they do know how to package a vibrator. Liv comes in a sturdy box, well suited to gift giving. The box is color coded to match your choice of Livs: green, pink, or navy blue. Liv comes with an instruction booklet, information on your warranty, a satin pouch,a charger, and a sample of water-based lubricant.
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth
    • No odor

Design / Shape / Size

Dimensions: Liv is about 7" long, with 4 1/2" of that being insertable. Her circumference is 3 3/4", and her diameter is 1 1/8". She weighs about a pound, which is just enough to feel like a solid weight in your hand. I must admit that she looked a little intimidating out of the package to me. However, Lelo did include a black satiny bag for storage which would make it a snap to travel with.

Functions / Performance / Controls

One of the great features Liv offers is that she is rechargable. The white circular light around her control panel will turn red when she needs charging. I have yet to see this happen, but I've spoken to other users who have said she can run 2 to 3 hours on a charge. That's quite a lot of play time!
    • Discreet sound
    • Long lasting power

Care and Maintenance

Liv is very easy to care for. You can clean her with soap and water as long as you are careful of her charging port toward the bottom. You can also use antibacterial wipes or sprays. You can't boil Liv as you could with other silicone products, because she isn't 100% waterproof.

As far as lubes go, any lube except silicone lubes will work just fine. A quality water-based lube is probably your best bet.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Personal comments

My husband and I have enjoyed using Liv so far. I was hoping to find a vibe in her that was a good match for my G-spot, but she didn't work for this purpose, even after multiple tries. Given how well Liv performed in every other respect, I had to fault, not the toy, but my own anatomy, in this case. After some consideration, I think I can still recommend her to others, because she's a solid investment piece for someone who wants more than just a basic vibe. Liv will withstand wear and tear and does what she is meant to do quite well. I thought about returning her for a more specific G-spot vibe, but in the end, I probably won't be able to give up a toy that is so good at almost everything.
