Little Bullet, Big Vibrations
If you're looking for a simple bullet vibe that is reliable and gives intense vibrations then this toy is definitely what you're looking for.

Pros
small and compact, intense vibrations, waterproof
Cons
may not be as exciting for experienced users
The Bullettes by Doc Johnson is a 3 1/4 inch bullet vibe made out of translucent hard plastic. I have the pink one which is a very dark hot pink, almost red actually. It might be little in size but it packs a big punch. The turn dial eases you through a range of vibrations from light to rather intense. The turn dial is very user friendly and is ribbed for a good grip. It slides easily so changing intensity is easy to do even during use. Overall the sound of the toy is pretty discreet but the high setting does get kind of buzzy to the point that it could be heard under covers, but it would not be able to be heard through a closed door.
The Bullettes features a retrieval cord which you can slide over your wrist for added control while using the toy. The design is really cute and simple, with a bulged shaft and a pinpointing bubble at the tip of the vibe. The bubble really carries vibration well. My only dislike about the design is that at the base of the bubble is a little ridge that requires more attention while cleaning.
The toy takes a single AAA battery, which is included, and does not guzzle batteries but after a several uses with the same battery there is a noticeable drop in the level of intensity. The vibrations are still strong, but they're not as "knock your socks off" as they initially were. The battery compartment cap is not very durable. Take care not to turn it too hard; I did and ended up cracking the inside of the cap. The toy still functions properly but I would no longer use it in water. Before the cap incident I used the toy in water and saw no problem. The toy seems to be 100% waterproof.
Overall, I like this toy and recommend it for a beginner. There are a lot more exciting toys out there that have a lot more functions so someone more experienced with toys might get bored easily with the Bullettes. There are no pulsations or escalations, just the different levels of vibration. It still has a place in my toy box though and has outlasted many other bullet type vibes.

Experience
I like to use this toy during foreplay as it's small, pretty quiet, and can be used for both pinpoint massage and for clitoral stimulation. I've also used this between me and my husband during sex and it's fairly unobtrusive.
A friend of mine got the same bullet at the same time as I did. While I found the vibrations to be extremely intense, she did not have the same experience and felt that they were pretty weak. I normally like high vibrations so I think it's possible that maybe she got a dud or dud batteries.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I just had to change the batteries in the Bullettes, for the first time ever since I've had it! I also leave the batteries in this one when not in use, which is generally a no-no, but I often do this with the bullets that I grab often. Even with leaving the batteries in they lasted longer than I have ever seen before. Now that my bullettes has the new battery in it's just as powerful as ever and I have to say, while this is a very simple toy it's a great one to have in your collection. It's proven to be very reliable to me over time, I've actually had this for I believe over a year now!
