Egg-shaped bullets were one of my first introductions to sex toys and I am a big fan of them. I have tried close to 10 different bullets (many of which were egg-shaped) since we started exploring toys 2 months ago. I use them on a daily basis - not only to get off - but sometimes to simply relax and go to sleep when I'm slightly wound up. I've used them so frequently that I can tell you that the Eden Fantasys brand bullet will last me about 8 hours on high and the Colt bullet (on high) will last me about 7 hours on high.

Unfortunately, bullets are known for one thing - they usually have a low speed and a high speed (or a turn dial which gives you multiple options in those areas). Those are the limitations of the majority of bullets I've seen. However, when I found out that Cal Exotics had designed a bullet that was multi-function and would pulsate and escalate, I was excited. I saw how easy it was to turn it on with a simple press at the top of the controller and I waited anxiously for the mailman to bring me my new toy.

When my order came, we looked over all of our new toys. We'd received three other bullets along with this one and some other toys. This was the very first toy we played with.

My husband put the batteries in and got it started. To keep anything from happening to change the setting it was on, I lightly tossed the controller over my back. Oops..it bumped something on the way to the bed - time to retrieve it and reset it. We gently put it over my back again - but as hubby put it down, he apparently bumped it. Time to retrieve it again. So far the score was Toy 2 and Couple 0. We thought we'd outsmart the bullet -so we put the controller between my boobs. That worked for about a minute and then once again, somehow, the iTap was activated to change settings once more.

We continued several more times but gave up before we were willing to let the toy win with an 11-0 score. After all, we were so busy retrieving it and resetting it - we had no time to score ourselves.

But alas, even as we grabbed another toy and prepared to play, the iTap got in the last laugh. Apparently, she/he had touched - or been touched - by another toy while on its way in the toy bag. So we stopped our play to once again turn off this toy.

Let me simply say - I do not recommend this for couple play because trust me - if one of you doesn't tap it - the other one will!

Both the controller and bullet are made of ABS plastic. Neither of them have any smell or taste, although I did not try to bite on either of them. While the bullet is made of plastic, it has a metallic silver coating which might make you think it is metal when you see it on the website. There is a noticeable seam along the middle of the bullet where it is put together. However, I do not notice it at all when the bullet is in use.

The texture can be appreciated by both beginners and advanced users.

The design reminds me of both the Eden Fantasys bullet and the Colt bullet. Basically, you have an egg shaped bullet with a cord leading to a controller. The bullet is a comfortable size for me with a diameter of 1" and an insertable length of 2.25" (which is the full length of the bullet itself).

I suppose you could hide it by simply throwing it in your sock drawer - mine just lays out on my nightstand most of the time. You could take it with you when you travel if you put it in a cosmetic bag or something.

The bullet is attached to the controller with a 30" cord. The 2 AAA batteries are placed in the back of the controller.

This is both a powerful and noisy vibrator. You can definitely hear it through a closed door if there is no music on. Even if you do have music on, other people in the house may hear you cursing as you try to keep it on the setting that you want to use.

The first two functions are steady vibrations with the first one being a medium level and the next one being a strong vibration. The third function is made up of two short pulses followed by one long pulse. The fourth function is a rapid pulse that continually repeats. The fifth setting is a high low pulse cycle. In order to turn off the vibrator you must cycle all the way through the five settings as there is no function to remember what you were last on.

While we didn't use this toy long enough to say for sure it is a battery guzzler, the fact that it turns itself on without your help leads us to believe that you will waste a lot of batteries if you don't take them out after every use.

Since this toy can't be sterilized, you will want to use a condom if sharing it. Do not try to boil it or throw it in the dishwasher since there is a motor inside. I am concerned about the way that the cord goes into the controller because I think it would be possible to ruin the motor if you got the cord went and the water dribbled in.

Since this is ABS plastic, you can use a washcloth and some soap to wipe it down after every use.

The two nice things about this are the fact that you can use any lube with it and it doesn't attract lint and dust or have drag like silicone items do.

I want to close this review by sharing that the toy actually did have one FINAL laugh at our expense. We finally were playing and close to "scoring" when we heard a buzz. We looked at the toy bag to see it was vibrating. We faced the decision of do we stop our play and turn it off or keep on playing and let it buzz.

We let it buzz and it was still buzzing when we were done. But at least we weren't scoreless!

Oh yeah - and the toy is not allowed near any batteries lest he/she learns how to put them in and turn back on. I can see it now "The Night of the Self-Controlled Bullet Vibrator".
