The Cupid Kiss is a cute toy that has a large variety of functions and features. However it packs a girth that must be taken seriously. Beginner toy users beware, this one is for the more experienced.
The Cupid Kiss by Shaki Toys could be used for a few different things. It's marketed as a g-spot toy however it could also be used as a clitoral vibe or for "stimulation of the erogenous zones" as it says on the box. This toy would be great for a woman wanting to spice up her solo play or for couples alike. In my opinion this toy is not for beginners. It has a fairly large diameter, this combined with its texture and size could be too intimidating for someone just getting into adult toys. For this reason I would only recommend this toy for someone who considers themselves an intermediate to advanced toy user.
Also I would not recommend it as an anal/p-spot toy. The toy lacks a base which is recommended for anal toys. This paired with the texture and size makes it not ideal for anal.
The box says that this toy is made of 100% silicone (10 on the Eden safety scale) however that's not entirely true. It's actually made of TPR silicone (6 on the Eden safety scale) meaning its actually what's called a "silicone based rubber compound". This is what makes the toy have a bit of give that TPR is known for. It came out of the box with no gross smell or taste. One important thing to note is that this toy is a bit of a lint magnet like most things made of silicone.
The toy is pink, velvety, has a bit of give to it and is squishy. It has a ribbed texture that starts at the head close together. As you go down the shaft of the toy the ribs grow larger and further apart from one another, then wrap around the back of the toy. The first inch of the toy bends a bit (g-spot curve) but the rest of it does not bend or flex in any fashion.
The Cupid Kiss is 7 3/4" long, 6" insertable, 5 3/4" circumference and 1.5" in diameter. As I've said before, due to this large size I'd say it's not a beginner toy.
The ribbed/wavy design on this toy is nice, it's not all too intimidating and would be a great way to get into textures if you're already well versed on other toys. The shape of the toy is nice having a only very slight tapering, growing just a big bigger at the base. There is a g-spot bulge towards the head however I don't believe that it worked all that well. I think it's just too slight of an incline to hit and stimulate most people just right.
You probably could travel with this if you wanted to but to, it would be easy enough to hide in a carry on bag.
This toy takes 2 AA batteries which can be put in the battery cave by unscrewing the twist off base at the bottom. To turn the toy on you simply press the button on the bottom of the battery cap. I had no problem turning on the toy or changing the settings while the toy was inserted however some people may. To turn it off you can either cycle through the functions or simply hold down the button until it shuts off. The toy has 8 functions/speeds which include vibrating, escalating and pulsating.
The first two settings pretty quite however once you get to the third the toy can easily be heard pretty loudly under blankets and inserted. On the higher settings it could even be heard through a door as a hum. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend this toy to someone living in a dorm, at home, with a close by roommate or just anyone who would prefer to be unheard. The vibrations on the higher levels should be strong enough for most. I tested the toy underwater and it worked just as promised.
Silicone is pretty low maintenance when it comes to care. Don't use a silicone based lube, stick with water based. Because this isn't 100% silicone, please don't boil it or put it in the dishwasher to sanitize. Stick with mild soap and some warm water to keep it cleanly. You could also use antibacterial toy cleaner if you have it. The box notes to clean the product before and after every use and to keep the inner battery cave dry while cleaning. Because silicone isn't generally porous, you could probably share this but I always recommend using a condom when sharing toys no matter what.
This toy comes beautifully and respectfully packaged. You can see the Cupid Kiss threw two windows, one on the front and one on the back.
The box is purple, gray, black and white with some cute designs. Across the front are just the words "Cupid Series-Kiss of Hero" (bad translation is my guess for the weird name). No half-clothed or naked women at all. It's also full of information about the toy. On the back are two foldout panels with 4 sections of information about the functions and specs.
I have very mixed feelings about this toy. I feel like it's a great toy and has many great functions and features for the price. However for me it was far too large. I loved that this toy had some length, but I was only able to insert the first 3 1/2 inches or so because of the large diameter/girth. At first it was a nice 'full' feeling but that quickly turned into "Ow! Too much!".
The g-spot curve did nothing for me and the internal vibrations weren't anything spectacular. So I ended up using it as a clitoral vibrator on the low setting because of the noise.
I feel like I would have appreciated this more if I were more experienced with the size and could have used it to it's full potential. So I'm giving this 3 stars. The Cupid Kiss has some faults but over all it's not a bad toy and I plan on keeping/using it.
Push come to shove I would buy this toy again, and would recommend it (with a reservation) to someone ready for it.
Follow-up commentaryI've started to like it more2 months after original review
I've grown pretty neutral to the Cupid Kiss. Sadly I'm still unable to get any more of this toy inserted then before, despite continuous attempts. I also still dislike lack of g-spot and the loudness of the toy. But I'm starting to appreciate the many functions and speeds the Cupid Kiss offers a bit more.
One thing I have noticed is the Cupid Kiss is kind of annoying to clean. You really have to get into ever ridge and bump to make sure it's 100% clean.
Overall the Cupid Kiss isn't a bad toy, it just needs the right home. I'm going to continue to recommend this toy to more of an intermediate/advanced toy user who can handle the girth (circumference) better than I can.
