Because the Ultra Thin is a penis like straight vibrator, it is great for vaginal penetration. The vibrations are good and strong and can be felt mostly through the upper two thirds of the shaft, with less felt at the base. It is a nice stiff toy and can be used for thrusting, which feels great with the vibrations and since this is not a particularly girthy toy there is less worry for those who are just starting out. I find that because it's so straight I have trouble stimulating my g-spot with it.
It can also double as a clitoral simulator, I often put a touch of lube in the tip and use it on my clit with another thicker toy. The Ultra Thin has a "nub" a the base for clitoral stimulation while inserted, but the toy is so stiff that I haven't found a way to get my clit to the nub. Maybe I'm just built wrong for the toy.
With the slightly "bulbed" end and being slightly thinner than most vibrators this little guy could be used for anal play, but being made of jelly and quite porous please remember to slip him into a condom first.
I love jelly material, I love the feeling of it, the way it glistens when all wet with lube. I even like the smell! The Ultra Thin is made from good quality jelly material with no visible seams on the toy that is one of the denser jelly materials I've seen. It gives the toy a little give without being overly squishy. I have had mine over a year now and it still looks as good as the day I got it. No peeling or cracking in the material.
To me jelly toys always have a particular smell, it's kind of rubbery with a little sweet to it but not offensive. This toy had a very light smell to it when I took it out of the package and retains only the faintest whiff. As for taste, I find have found this particular toy has no real noticeable taste.
A few words of caution with jelly though:
First is that it scores only a 2 on EF's safety scale. The reason for this is that jelly is made from PVC and phthalates to give it that nice squishy feel. Phthalates have been linked to some health problems. Jelly is a very porous material so it will harbor bacteria, if you plan to share this with a partner please use a condom and clean it well.
Second is that it does need lube as the material has a "sticky" quality to it so it doesn't glide well without something to help it out. But once it is lubed up it is very slick and slides nicely on penetration. Remember to only use water based lube with jelly! It's also very smooth if you are using this toy for clitoral stimulation
The Ultra Thin is very obviously penis shaped with vein like texture throughout the "shaft". It is thin and can be easy and discreetly packed away in a bag or tucked into a drawer, but once it comes out there is no mistaking what it is for. With the TSA cracking down on what goes into your carry on I would suggest that you don't pack this in your carry on unless you are comfortable with whipping out a purple penis in public.
I love the realistic shape and texture of the the Ultra Thin, the head feels great when penetrating and the vein texture is really stimulating when the Ultra Thin is used for thrusting. Because this toy is relatively straight I found it hard to manipulate it to stimulate my G-Spot really well.
The toy has an insertable length of 5 1/4", and is 4 3/4" around, or 1 1/4" thick which is a little on the thin side for me but great for beginners.
My biggest issue with the Ultra Thin is the turn control dial located at the base of the toy.
The dial is rather small and thin which makes it awful hard to find by just feeling around. And when my hands are slippery with lube I have a hard time turning the dial to increase the vibrations.
Also because the dial is attached to the base where the batteries go, it's possible ending up unscrewing the base after reaching down to turn the dial and having the batteries fall out which is a huge buzz killer (pun intended). The Ultra Thin runs on two AA batteries and so far I'm still using the same batteries.
I found that closing the bedroom door blocked out most of the sound even when we revved him up to high. Word of warning, be sure that the battery cap is screwed on tightly, if it is a little loose I have found that the Ultra Thin will make a rattling sound that is quite loud otherwise this is a pretty quiet vibrator.
The low setting is a nice warm up and you can gradually increase the vibrations by turning the dial. I find the vibrations are quite intense and go from "That feels great!" to "Oh My God!" pretty fast.
This toy is not waterproof so do not take him into the shower. Remember to take the batteries out while cleaning as that screw cap is not the tightest closure I have seen.
I generally just use antibacterial soap and warm water to clean my Ultra Thin. The vein texture does tend to catch and hold onto stuff so use running water and give it a good rub with your fingers. Best way I can describe it is give this thing a hand job under running water and it will clean up pretty easily. Please do not use alcohol or alcohol based cleansers on jelly material as it will degrade the material over time.
One word of warning, as much as I love jelly material, it is the worst dust and lint magnet imaginable which can make it a health risk. I would not recommend tucking this away in a drawer as is, please make sure it is stored in a lint free box or back in it's packaging. I store mine in a non fabric lined box and it does quite well. I might add that it is best to clean the Ultra Thin and put it away after use than let it sit out somewhere. A caveat to this to make sure your jelly is dry before putting it away as the porous nature of the material can make it susceptible to molding (yuck right?) is to store this in a breathable container. I use a really nice box that is made from very high grade paper (I think my hubby's cologne set came in it).
I did some research on the web and have seen that jelly based toys should only be used with water based lubes due to the fact that silicone based lube will degrade jelly material. I would highly recommend using a lubricant as jelly material can be slightly "sticky" when un-lubed and pull at the labia when inserted if you are not very wet down there.
This was one of my first sex toys and it was a great choice. It is very easy to use and not as intimidating as some of the other toys on the market. I have since found that I like my toys to have a little more girth but that doesn't mean my Ultra Thin gets excluded. He still comes out of the toy box on a regular basis, often as a clitoral simulator while I use my Jelly Royales to fill me up.
My hubby still finds all sorts of great things to do with my Ultra Thin either to warm me up or help me reach great orgasms during sex. We did experiment with some anal play and the girth of this toy makes it just right. I still get a ton of use out of my Ultra Thin and for the price it was a steal!
Follow-up commentaryI still like it16 months after original review
Yes, yes, I know jelly is gross, but this is still one of my go-to toys. There is nothing fancy about it but it gets the job done. I still like the texture, and the vibrations are just right for me. So far it has held up with no pitting or damage to the jelly material, and it cleans up very easily. It's kind of like finding the "just right" toy.
