It's not short, it's fun-sized.
If you're looking for small, discreet clitoral vibrator that can also be used with a partner for teasing, foreplay, and small enough to be used during sex, look no further than DocJohnson's Pocket Rocket, a small 4" pocket rocket that's very light-weight, yet packs a powerful punch for it's size.

Pros
Small, travel-friendly, powerful, can be used all over, discreet
Cons
Not waterproof, only one setting, not rechargeable, a little loud
Use
This pocket rocket is awesomely small, but super powerful! I would recommend using this for clitoral stimulation, as well as all over your body (and your partner's). I would not recommend inserting this anywhere - it really wasn't meant to be inserted. And, OK, I'll be honest - the attachment head it kind of pokey and tends to slip off by itself; there's nothing to secure it on. I generally don't use it. I'm also not sure if you're supposed to use the toy with the cap or not. I couldn't find anything that said whether or not to use it. This is my first pocket rocket, so I'm not sure.
Material & Care
The Doc Johnson pocket rocket is made of black ABS plastic. It's 4" in length and about 1/2" diameter and weighs about 0.1 lbs. It's a very light-weight travel friendly toy. Though it doesn't come with a travel pouch it would easily fit in a purse or other small bag. I would definitely worry about it turning on, so store without a battery if not in use and when traveling. There was absolutely no smell when I took it out of it's package. This isn't waterproof so I would say use soap & water to clean the head of the toy...or attachment or just use a toy wipe or toy cleaner.
Vibrations & Controls
This pocket rocket has one speed, you twist the bottom to turn it off, on and put in or take out the battery. The vibrator uses one AA battery and it super tiny and very powerful for such a small toy. The vibrations are a little buzzy, but it's super powerful. I gave this 4/5 bees, it seems pretty loud to me I don't think it could be heard through a door under blankets though.
Packaging & Storage
This pocket rocket comes in some basic DocJohnson packaging. It was pretty flimsy so I didn't keep it. There were no separate instructions for care or use. For storage you can keep this with silicone and composite silicone toys, it shouldn't react with them. I may start keeping it in my purse.

I don't use this a ton, but sometimes when I just want clit stimulation I reach for it and it does a great job still!

Great review, I love the pictures!

Great review. I personallly prefer to keep the cap on, I find it transmits the vibrations better which seems odd and I never had any problems with it coming off.

I just think the cap is kinda pokey, but I think I get what you mean by it transmitting the vibrations better, like more surface area for the vibrations to cover? The cap of mine sometimes slides up like it wants to come off..not like everytime but..it happens and I just think it's kind of weird.
