Intriguing New Idea But Falls A Little Short
A fun toy which provides some variety from the typical dual action vibe. However, the total experience is a little underwhelming. Overall, this could be a fun toy to use in conjunction with others or for couple play, but doesn't quite get the job done on its own.

Pros
Unique undulating shaft motion. Waterproof.
Cons
Only three speed levels. Noisy. Large, but unfocused clit stimulator.
I was extremely excited when I discovered the Passion Wave Butterfly. I thought the "waving" motion provided by the plastic discs would be an interesting variation on the typical twisting or turning motions of most rabbit vibrators. In theory, this seems like a great idea. In practice however, this vibe doesn't quite hit the spot.
The "wave" motion of the shaft is created by three columns of plastic discs which create a undulating motion against the soft jelly casing. While this motion does feel pleasant, it failed to create any earth shattering sensations for me. Additionally, given the circumference of the toy and the positioning/motion of the discs any movement caused some pinching from the discs. This is definitely a "hands off" vibrator. Put it in and leave it be. ;)
The clitoral stimulator is shaped like a butterfly (hence the name). Unlike other rabbit vibes I have tried, this feature is rather large. The wing span of the butterfly is 3" long. This allows the wings of the butterfly to stimulate your labia while the antennae stimulate the clit. The wings were a nice touch, however, I found it hard to get the antennae to hit in just the right spot.
Finally, my biggest problem with this vibe is the lack of power/speed settings. With only three power levels for both the vibrating and waving functions, it doesn't offer much variety. For me, the waving motion topped out too soon and left me wishing for a higher setting. Conversely even on the lowest setting the vibrating attachment was quite intense. Additionally, both of these functions are very loud. This not a toy you can use on the sly.
On the plus side, this toy is waterproof, which makes for easy cleaning, not to mention opportunities for some fun bath-time experiences.
The bottom line: It will provide an orgasm, but it won't exactly be an earth shattering experience.

Do I understand you correctly that the discs themselves can pinch through the jelly coating?
Carrie Ann: Since it is waterproof it is just easier to me to be able to get the apparatus clean using soap and warm water with out worrying about getting the battery casing or control panel wet (a rookie mistake of the past).
