How the Romans would have done it.

Oh, it's ugly, yes, but it's the ugly duckling of the sex toy world because you get the best of both worlds here. It's so freaking intense! And it's super quiet! What else do you need?! Nothing. Buy this. Buy it right now. Honestly, for me, I really don't think there's any way that something could top this. I love my little sidekick, even if it looks like a mutant electric toothbrush from ancient times.

Use

When it comes to clitoral stimulation, the Eroscillator is unbeatable. Instead of conventional vibrations that come from gyration of the motor, the Eroscillator stimulates by rapid back and forth movements which create a truly unique sensation during clitoral stimulation. Unlike traditional types of vibrations, this style seems limited in its use. The design is most appropriate for clitoral use, but it may be stimulating when used on other erogenous zones like the nipples. The attachments give a wide range of options for the user, but are not suitable for insertion and are unsafe for anal penetration.

This vibrator is suited for users of all skill levels. The three set levels of power may not be the best for the absolute beginner because they are quite powerful, and someone with no previous experience with clitoral stimulation may be slightly overwhelmed.

The occasions where this vibrator is suitable for play are slightly limited due to the need for an electrical outlet and the non-waterproof design. The cord is a very generous length which allows for a wider useable area than others out there, but it is still something that needs to be considered. This vibrator should not be used in or around water. It is highly suitable for use with or without a partner and can be used in quite a few positions, but may be too bulky for others. The low noise level makes it incredibly discreet, as well.

Material / Texture

The body of the Eroscillator is made of plastic which is generally non-porous and firm. The attachments have varying levels of texture ranging from bumpy to smooth which allows for the user to experiment with the texture and shape that is best suited to their preferences. However, the firmness of the attachment may be an issue for those who prefer softer materials, but there are additional attachments which offer a less firm option. Plastic is easy to clean and maintain making it a wise choice of material. It is generally odorless and tasteless, as well. It does not attract lint or dust like many other toy materials tend to.

Design / Shape / Size

The overall look of the Eroscillator is quite interesting. I feel like it's someone imperial and that it resembles the bronze artwork of the Romans. If they made vibrators or electric toothbrushes they probably wouldn't be too far off from this. It's not the most attractive design on the market, but it is highly functional. It isn't something that would immediately come off as a sexual object, therefore it is moderately discreet.

The body of the Eroscillator is about 11" long, but it's not unwieldy because it's quite light. It is ribbed which aids in providing grip, yet it can still become slightly slippery at times. It can also be a little difficult to find the switch when you're trying to navigate down there in the dark, but it's only a small learning curve.

The attachments are around 2 1/2" long, so you have over a foot of vibrator at your disposal. Three attachments are included, but they are double sided which gives you six different options.

Cup and Ball - One side is cupped which is great for those who like indirect stimulation. The other side is a half sphere shape which is what I prefer. It provides a broad area of stimulation and had smaller nubs on it for a little extra texture, but I barely notice them.

Golden Scoop - It's pretty much like one of those wooden spoons. Just imagine that the back of the spoon had little bumps on it and was flat, while the front of the spoon was, well, spoon shaped.

Grapes and cockscomb - It's uhhh . . . interesting. One side is shaped like a bunch of grapes which is an insane amount of texture. The other is a thin vertical ridge with smaller ridges on it. Again, holy texture!

Those attachments give you a lot of different options, and there are others out there. The Soft Fingertip Attachment is the only one that you can buy by itself. The others only come with the upgraded Eroscillator set.

The cord is incredibly long. It's a whole 12 feet long, so you've got a lot of room to work with, but you have to make sure not to get yourself all tangled up in it while squirming around in delight.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are three speeds here. They're the classic low, medium, high settings you find. Nothing too special about those. They're located on the base on a slide type switch. What's great, though, is that there's a good amount of variance between the speeds, but not too much of a jump. Low is a moderate amount of power. Because of the types of stimulation you're getting here, the low setting is incredibly stimulating on its own. It can be compared to the medium or high settings on conventional vibrators. Medium is around the high speeds in more powerful vibrators, and the high setting is almost a little too intense for me, and this is coming from a girl who favors jackhammers and Hitachis. This sort of stimulation seems to reach a lot deeper internally. I've found that orgasms are much more satisfying because of that. Normally, clitoral orgasms for me are great, but nothing special. Sometimes, though, I'm content just using this without any other toys.

Oh, and it's QUIET! Isn't that what we all look for in our idea vibe? One to rock our socks off while being just a whisper? When I first pulled it out of the box and plugged it in I was quite confused because it made a horrible amount of noise and all I'd ever heard was that it could barely be heard under covers. The attach pop in pretty easily, stay in securely, and are easy to remove, but god this thing was loud. After fiddling around with it, I realized that when the attachments aren't in contact with anything they rattle around in the base a little and do get that loud, but when you have it applied to a fleshy surface it's barely audible, as in you might not even have to close the door. Only problem is that when you go to readjust everything and lose contact with your surface it gets all rattly. It's not too much of a bother, though.

It's not waterproof, sadly. Nothing with a cord really is, right?

Care and Maintenance

There's not much you have to do to keep up with the Eroscillator. The body isn't waterproof, but the attachments are, so you can throw those in the sink with a little soap and water to get them sparkling clean again, or wipe them down with a bleach solution when needed. Plastic doesn't need much care to stay clean. The base can be cleaned with a damp cloth or toy wipe, but it can be a pain when things get stuck in the ridges. It's one of those situations where it's a 'share at your own risk' deal, but the multiple attachments can be assigned to other players so that everyone can get in on the fun.

All lubes are fine to use here, but most of the time they're not really needed.

It doesn't collect lint or anything like that, so you can store it anywhere you choose. Just make sure wherever it's going is away from any water.

Simple!

Follow-up commentary
I've had this for about 4 months now and still have not a single complaint. My other vibrators just sit there collecting dust now because this one stole the show and I can't say enough good things about it. I understand why it has the amazing reputation it does. It's also something I never have to worry about my roommate hearing, so I don't have to wait to have my alone time when he's not around. Win-win-and even more win situation there.

Awesome review! This made me laugh so much. I have often looked at this one and thought it looked like an electric toothbrush. It is hideously ugly, but it is good to know it is so useful

Yes! I mean, it's not like you're staring at it when you're using it.

You kinda have to have a sense of humor with it.
