Haute Couture for Less!
Both beginner and advanced users will be able to appreciate the elegant Calypso bullet toy due to its ease of use and wide variety of vibrations and pulsating patterns. The only thing about it I really didn't like is that I had to cycle through all the modes to go back to the one I wanted to finish off on. It's not really a big deal, but it can interrupt the flow of things when the timing is crucial. Other than that, it's well-made and durable.

Pros
Silicone cover, splashproof, discreet, quiet, eye-catching.
Cons
Cord isn't very long and can tangle, only available in pink.
Add some flair to your toy collection with the Calypso 1 from CalExotics Couture Collection! This toy combines a very girly/feminine design with a multi-functional, high-speed micro bullet. It's ideal for clitoral play, but it can also be enjoyed anywhere else on the body for external stimulation in either a solo or couple's scenario. Internal insertion isn't recommended, especially if retrieving the toy requires pulling hard on the cord which in turn can damage it. It's also splashproof, so don't be afraid to take it in the shower or tub.
The design of the toy is the basic controller>wire>bullet. What makes this one even better is that the bullet is covered in pink silicone, which in and of itself is a real treat because of its extremely safe properties, which make it an ideal material for even the most sensitive users. The silicone is smooth with some drag and the only texture is provided by a series 4 uniformly shaped rings around the center of the bullet. There's no smell or taste present.
The bullet is on the smaller side, just shy of 2-inches long and 1-inch in diameter. Without the silicone cover, I imagine it would be more difficult to grasp due to its small size. The 23-inch wire that connects the bullet to the controller is covered with a thin white splashproof material, although I'm not positive what this material is. The 4-inch long, handheld white controller is made of heavy-duty plastic and has a lovely, swirly, tulip-like design on the glossy topside, with the two function buttons sitting in the middle of the flower.
Two-AAA batteries are inserted in the battery compartment, located on the underside matte portion of the toy. The cover has a little tab that must be released with a fingernail in order to open it; this helps to secure the cover and keep it tightly in place during waterplay. When I first took off the cover, I was wondering where the waterproof gasket was, since there is a visible gap all around the cover that I imagine some water must get in to; however, it's there, just above where the batteries go in, so that was reassuring.
Function-wise, this toy offers a good variety of sensations and is not only easy to operate, but also powerful. Both function buttons are flush and must be pressed/clicked to cycle through the different levels. The power button must be illuminated for the toy to work. Then you just have to click the button with the little waves pictured on it to start the cycle of low, medium, & high vibrations, which then changes to a series of 4 patterns (low to high tapping, strong tapping, strong faster tapping, 3-taps followed by a long hold). The only downside is that you must cycle through all of them to get back to your favorite, as there is no reverse mode. The luminous lights do stay on or flash with each level. I found it to be very quiet also.
Because of its small size, it is very portable and it won't turn on by accident should the batteries be left in. Only a water-based lube should be used, if any is needed at all, and it can be thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial soap and warm water.

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
It's not my go-to bullet, primarily because it just feels so small in my hand. I prefer something weightier and that delivers something more than just pinpoint precision.
