Hannah Harpers Butterfly Vibe is what I would call utterly average. It is not a home run but it isn't a total miss either. The shaft is really great for g-spot stimulation, but the butterfly was definitely not my favorite clitoral attachment. I think that with this rabbit, as with all rabbit vibes, this is mostly due to anatomy. I do know that there are better options out there if you are willing to spend the money, so if you are feeling doubtful about this one, it might be best to keep looking.

Good G-spot Stimulation Vibration Patterns Tpr Silicone
Hannah Harpers Butterfly Vibe is designed as a g-spot targeting rabbit style vibrator. The best use for this is simultaneous vaginal and clitoral stimulation, however it can be used a number of different ways.
The butterfly can be used as a grip for control during thrusting, the "brush" head can be rubbed across the clitoris while gripping the shaft, or for those determined on an anal adventure the shaft can be inserted while the butterfly stimulates the perineum (and possibly the testicles depending on anatomy). If using this toy anally I HIGHLY recommend using in combination with a condom as Tpr Silicone is slightly porous.
Due to the quiet nature of the butterfly, this toy can be used fairly discreetly in any private area. Unlike actual LIVE butterflies, the water has no effect on its ability to flutter making this vibe suitable for both bath and shower use as well.
Though meant for solo play, this toy can be used by couples as well. However, if you mean to share, please do be responsible and use a condom to prevent any infections or transfer of fluids.
Tpr silicone is a silicone based rubber witch is both Latex and Phthalates free, as well as being hypo-allergenic. It is less porous than rubber, but more porous than silicone; it also has a range of hardness, though this particular vibe is fairly flexible. It also has little to no odor and carries vibrations well.
The texture of the tpr is quite smooth and has only a very slight drag. The nubs on the end of the G "brush" add tremendously to the amount of stimulation it delivers, especially during thrusting. Unfortunately none of the texture on the clitoral stimulator really adds anything, in fact I think the shape might actually detract from the effectiveness.
The design of this vibe is not great and not terrible, I like some aspects of it and really dislike others. As far as Pipedream products are concerned this is one that I am more impressed with, it doesn't drain batteries, it seems relatively sturdy and the g-spot targeting head is quite effective. The location of the buttons is convenient during use, the o-ring makes it effectively waterproof, battery insertion is easy and the battery compartment stays closed during use.
The problem I have with this one is the clitoral attachment, I'm pretty sure the wings are meant to add to the experience by vibrating against the labia, but if that IS the goal, they aren't serving their purpose (at least not for me). What they are doing is absorbing some of the vibration that could be traveling to your clitoris. The other problem that I have is that it's a bit short and the antennae don't transfer the vibrations well.
Size wise, I wouldn't suggest this to a beginner, the neck of the shaft is nothing spectacular, but the head is actually a bit big (especially with the nubs). It is not overwhelming, but may be a bit intimidating during insertion. I think this is mostly due to shape, as opposed to size.
This is not a small vibrator (not huge but not small), and is fairly conspicuous so not the greatest for travel, the buttons being located on the base of the vibe could lead to it being accidentally turned on during transfer as well.
The rabbit vibrators are meant for simultaneous vaginal and clitoral stimulation, some not only vibrate but also contain rotating beads or heads or even a shaft which has a thrusting or subtle wave to it. This particular rabbit only vibrates. It has dual motors, one of which is located about half way up the shaft, the other at in the base of the butterfly.
The motors are controlled by two buttons located on the bottom of the vibrator, there is an on off button (great for times when there is a chance of being caught), as well as a function switch that cycles through the vibration patterns. Both motors run on the same patterns so when you change the setting it will effect the whole vibe. There are 7 patterns, a weak, medium and strong steady vibration, followed by an escalation pattern, a steady pulsing pattern, faster pulsations and finally 3 short pulses and a longer burst.
Tpr is fairly easy to clean, just wash with an antibacterial toy cleaner or mild soap. Unfortunately Tpr Silicone cannot be sterilized. The areas on this vibe that will require the most attention while cleaning are the "brush" style head, and the area where the clitoral attachment meets the shaft. Cleaning may be aided by using a soft bristled toothbrush, or a microfiber cloth.
In order to prolong the life of your toy there are a couple things you can do.
1, Employ the use of condoms over your vibrator
2, Wash thoroughly with mild cleansers (soap or toy cleaners)
3, Store your toy properly so that it can not pick up and absorb dirt and bacteria between uses
4, Ensure that it does not come into contact with incompatible materials
Any type of silicone can be destroyed by coming into contact with the wrong materials, mainly other types of silicone and tpr products. It is therefor important to keep these separate from each other, either by storing them in separate places, or keeping them in their own pouches or packaging. It is also important to use compatible lube with your toys, no matter what the material. Tpr Silicone is compatible with water based lubricants only.
The packaging that comes with the HH's Butterfly is simple molded plastic packaging. It is clear with display card insert including a photo of a lingerie clad Hanna Harper, most of the toys attributes, and its name (definitely not discreet). The packaging is recyclable but can also be used to store the toy between uses (as long as the extra space it takes up is not a problem).
I am fairly torn over this vibe, on one hand I love thrusting and the head gives me no end of pleasure, on the other hand I find the butterfly a complete nuisance. I spent quite a bit of time trying to adjust positioning so that the butterfly could properly stimulate me and was always disappointed. I think this would make an excellent vibrator WITHOUT the clitoral attachment, but with, I find it to be more of a hassle than it's worth.
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore3 months after original review
Originally I loved the g-spot "brush" portion of this vibe, loved that I could use it in the tub, and tolerated the clitoral portion. Unfortunately what I discovered last time that I used this was that it is FAR from waterproof. When testing it originally, and using it in the tub for the first time, It was never submerged for long periods of time. The last time I used it however it was submerged for a longer period of time and took in enough water to cause it to malfunction and stop working. So... considering that little experience, I can no longer love this vibrator. However, I can say that if you were not planning on using this underwater, it would still be a perfectly functional rabbit vibrator. Far from perfect, but adequate.
