Extreme Vibrating Action?! HA!

Eva is, unfortunately, all form and no function. Few people want a toy this flexible for G-spot stimulation and the power source provides lackluster vibrations. When you consider the price point, there are awesome alternatives that are more effective and versatile.

Use

California Exotics continues to up their game with attractive vibrators made from quality materials, and this is the case with Eva, which is intended for G-spot stimulation. It's rounded head could bring you clitoral pleasure if you don't need pressure (because the flexible neck won't allow for it), but the lack of flare makes this unsafe for anal play.

Material / Texture

The insertable portion of this vibrator is pure silicone, the texture of which is an absolute lint magnet. It's the not velvety nor is it shiny and smooth. It's somewhere in the middle with a lot of drag, so I imagine you'll want to use some water-based lube with this vibrator. The slight raised ridges on the side really add nothing to stimulation, so if you love texture, this isn't the toy for you. However, the simple design would work well for inexperienced users who are look or a non-intimidating toy.

The silicone meets hard plastic that houses the battery pack and buttons. This gives the shape the vibe needs to function.

Design / Shape / Size

Eva is long and lean. The silicone vibrator seems like the grown up version of yesterday's hard plastic G-spot vibes. It has sweeping lines and a gently angled head for G-spot stimulation. The vibrator measures 9" long and you can really insert most of that. However, you'll stop at whatever length is ideal to reach your G-spot. There are symmetrical raised ridges that emulate waves on either side of the shaft, but they exist for aesthetics as I cannot feel them internally.

The widest point of this toy is the head with a 1.5" width. However, it's not perfectly circular where it curves. The shaft gently tapers to quite thin. It's less than an inch wide for most of the shaft. This shaft widens once more toe make room for the back pack and controls. It's about 2" wide at the base, which makes it wide enough to grip.

The shape would be quite effective for G-spotting, but its effectiveness is hampered by the flexibility of the silicone. If this weird rigid, I think it would work for everyone. The thicker head, while it has give when you squeeze it, is firm enough for some G-spot stimulation, but the shaft bends easily enough to make the vibrator a bit difficult to control. With some effort, you can bend the tip of the shaft all the way down to the base. You can easily get a 35-degree bend with the shaft, but if you pull the base toward yourself during use, the head will move away from your G-spot.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibrator is easy to use. There are two buttons that are easy to locate by touch; although, they do light up so you can find them in the dark. A power button activates it, while a second button moves through the vibration settings. As Eva is powered by 2AAAs, the vibrations are incredibly buzzy (high-pitched). They make my hand tingle uncomfortably. Fortunately, the vibrations aren't so strong that I really feel them in my hand because they're focused at the head.

There are three settings of steady vibrations, but I can better hear the difference than feel it. The vibrations are so buzzy that there's barely a difference between the levels. This means that the four pulsation settings are completely ineffective because there's simply no power to back them up.

You can quickly turn off the vibe with the power button, and it doesn't remember your setting when you turn it back on. In use, I found it uninspiring and not very fun. I have other vibrators that are easier to control and offer stronger vibrations. Eva doesn't really compare with them.

The battery pack of this toy is pretty frustrating. You have to perfectly line up the two prongs with notches in the toy itself, then push it town and give it less than half a turn. I find lining it up especially difficult with batteries inserted because you have to use the cap to push them down against the spring while you turn. I, personally, am biased against any cap that requires such a finicky turn because it's hard to tell when they're in place. This is the case with the Eva.

There's a tiny o-ring permanently installed around the battery compartment, which the manufacturer advertises as waterproof. I don't have a tub to test this, but I'd trust it in the shower or when washing.

This won't be heard through a closed door, but it definitely operates at more than a whisper hum. I found the sound a bit loud for the power output.

Care and Maintenance

Wash with soap and water. The water is especially important to rinse away all the lint and hair this toy will attract. Sorry if you have pets!

This silicone toy shouldn't be reactive if you store it with other silicone toys, glass, metal and the like. , But I'd keep it away from your jelly toys just in case. They tend to leech onto other toys.

If you don't use it frequently, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion.

Silicone toys are best used with water-based lube.

Packaging

This comes in plastic box. They tend to be cheap and I tossed mine into the recycling. It's bulky for storage. There's no included storage bag.
