Body and Soul Remote 1 by California Exotics is an egg style vibrator with a retrievable cord. The egg is powered by a remote that turns the egg on and controls the vibrations.

This egg works well for external stimulation; can be used on the nipples, clitoris, perineum, testicles, penis, and any other erogenous zone on your body. Thanks to the retrievable cord the egg can be inserted vaginally and with caution, can be used anally as well. I wouldn't advise using this toy anally unless you're holding on to the cord during use. You don't want an embarrassing trip to the ER because you lost it inside of you.

This toy is great for solo play, with a partner, and can also be used in the tub or shower and on the go. Makes the perfect toy to secretly be pleasured in public, without the worry of someone knowing what's going on. The remote is very compact and tucks away nicely in your pocket or purse. Even if someone were to see it, it's quite unassuming unless you are familiar with the company name which is printed on the back of the remote.

You don't have to be a beginner to enjoy this toy, but if you're a power or size queen, this one might fall short in the pleasure department. If you enjoy moderate vibrations, than this is a great toy.

Body and Soul is made from ABS, PU coated plastic which rates a 7/10 on the Eden material safety scale. The plastic is phthalate free and is very silky smooth to the touch. There was also no smell when I first opened the package, and there still isn't now.

Because this toy is made from plastic, there's not give to the egg or remote. Only the cord attached to the egg is made to bend a little in order to comfortably wear the toy inside of you.

The silky smooth plastic makes this excellent for beginners or more advanced users who like a toy that lacks texture.

Body and Soul is designed like any other cordless egg vibrator. It's shaped just like a real egg, rounded and oblong. The egg unscrews at the center where the batteries are put inside.


Between the cap that screws off and the egg, is a piece that seals the seam, making the egg waterproof. Always make sure that the cap is closed tightly to ensure that no water leaks into the battery compartment.


One end of the egg is totally rounded and smooth, but the other side has the cord sticking out of it. The cord holds very well and no amount of tugging has shown any movement to it. It's in there very well, which really helps you to not worry about the cord separating from the egg.


The egg is in the middle when it comes to size, it's not big, but someone who's not used to penetration might find they need some lubrication to help slip it inside of you.


The remote has a very sleek look to it and is a little bit smaller than a basic track phone, which makes it very easy to slip into a pocket and take on the go. The front of the remote features a small screen that displays which of the 10 setting you're on. Just under the screen, there's a power button and a - and + sign that's used to cycle through the various settings and is in the shape of a heart. Before pushing the power button on the front (at the bottom of the heart), you need to make sure you turn the remote on by sliding the button on the side.



The back of the remote has the company made on it in white and has the battery compartment. In order to open it, you need to slide the back down and flip it up. After you've put your battery in (or have taken it out), put in back on in the reverse order in which you opened it.



Because of it's compact size, this toy is great to use on the go. It's easy to hide and the remote is discreet and more unassuming than not. Both beginners and advanced users can enjoy the fun this toy has to offer!

The remote and egg both need batteries in them in order to work. There are two different kinds. The egg takes two N type batteries and the remote takes 1 12V battery. All the batteries you need are included with your toy.


On the side of the remote is an on and off button. Make sure that it's pushed up in the 'On' position and press the power button on the front of the heart. The screen will light up and show the numbers '00'. The vibe won't start until you hit the + sign and the numbers change to '01'. At the bottom of the numbers, several hearts are displayed that change with the settings. Each time you press the + button, it goes to the next function and display. If you want to go back to a previous setting, press the - button. To turn off, press the power button, then slide the side button to 'off'. When you turn the remote back on, you start at '00' again, the remote doesn't hold your place.





Body and Soul has 10 different functions that you can cycle through using the plus and minus signs on the remote. They are:

2: Steady Vibration - Medium
3: Steady Vibration - High
4: Quick Pulses
5: Patterned Pulse (chaa, chaa, chaa, chaaaa)
6: Slow to Fast Pulse
7: Steady Pulse - Slow
8: Steady Pulse - Fast
9: Escalating - Low to High
10: Short Steady Quick Pulse

This vibe and remote are made to work even when there's some distance between them. The box claims that it's up to 26', but I wasn't able to test up to that range. It worked when my husband and I were on separate floors in our apartment, but didn't change function as often as he was pressing the button. It seems like it's a hit or a miss when it comes to distance and the remote working the way it should.

The vibrations are mediocre at best, and weren't very impressive when inserted vaginally. This vibe would work best for someone who's very sensitive to vibrations, because anyone who needs a little 'umph' will be highly disappointed.

The lack of vibrations does have a positive side to it. No one will hear the vibe if you choose to use it out and about in public.

I have found that the vibrator goes through batteries pretty quickly, and that's very disappointing considering the awkward type the remote and egg use.

The PU coated plastic egg can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and warm water or your favorite sex toy cleaner and if necessary, the remote can be carefully wiped down with a damp cloth. The egg is waterproof, but the remote is not, so use caution when cleaning. Make sure that the egg and remote are dry before storing, and that the batteries are removed.

This egg is compatible with both water and silicone based lubricant.

This toy can be stored in your toy box, dresser drawer, even your nightstand. It doesn't take up much space and doesn't need to be stored in any special way. I keep mine in a small drawstring, silk pouch, but a sandwich bag or small box would work just fine too.

The Body and Soul remote and egg come packaged in a thin cardboard box that looks like it belongs on a peg hook. The package shows a full color image of the toy on the front, with the name of the toy and company name. The package makes it obvious what the box contains, so I wouldn't leave it out in the open. It opens easily from the top.



The sides also show the product and name.



The back of the box gives a little bit of information about the toy in five different languages.



The box doesn't double very well as storage and should be discarded as necessary.

Inside of the box, the toy and all contents are packaged together in a thin plastic bag.
