Diamond In The Rough?
The Diamond Dolphin is a good choice if you're in the market for a rabbit-style vibrator. The rotating beads can stand up to clenching, and the clit stimulator features decent vibrations. Using the beads does not diminish the power of the clit stimulator, so both can be used at the same time without affecting each other. It's waterproof and pthalates-free!

Pros
Waterproof, beads stand up to clenching, decent vibrations, pthalates-free
Cons
Somewhat loud, slight scent, lint magnet
California Exotics seems to have taken a new direction in the packaging of their products featured in The Diamond Collection. The Diamond Dolphin, a rabbit-style vibe from the Diamond Collection, arrived in a blue box lacking the standard half-naked girl that has come to be expected with Cal Exotic's products. Graphics of diamonds were strewn among the box, as were the standard blurbs such as “Girl's Best Friend” and “Elegantly Sized”. A “Safe and Pure” seal is listed, which I'm guessing is their way of saying it is phthalates-free.
The Diamond Dolphin is encased in a plastic tray, which isn't overly-difficult to remove from the box. Once out of the box, it takes 3 AA batteries which are housed behind the control panel. It is waterproof (I submerged it in a bathtub for 20 minutes and no problems here!) as long as the cap to the battery pack is closed tightly. The shaft and clit stimulator are constructed of TPE, which is phthalates-free, but cannot be sterilized. (If sharing, please cover with a condom.) The TPE does have a slight scent, although it's not very noticeable unless the vibrator is near your nose. Like most other TPE or TPR rabbits, this one does attract lint, dust, dirt, pet hair, or whatever else it may come into contact with. The Diamond Dolphin is easy to clean, as you can fully submerge it in water. You can clean it using anti-bacterial soap and warm water, or a toy cleaner, depending on your personal preferences. The bottom half of the vibrator, which serves as the handle and also houses the control panel, is made of white plastic. Right below the clit stimulator (and right above the control panel) are 2 rows of rhinestones, hence the diamond part of the Diamond Dolphin.
Let's move on to the good part- how does this toy work? The Diamond Dolphin features 4 rows of non-jamming metal beads and a dolphin-shaped vibrating clitoral stimulator. Both features have 3 settings (low, medium, and high) and the beads can rotate in either direction. There are LED lights on the control panel that indicate which setting each function is on. The vibrations from the clit stimulator are surprisingly impressive. The vibrations cause a rattling noise, which goes away once any amount of pressure is put on the clit stimulator (this might just be a defect with the one I received). Once the rattling noise stops, the vibrations are fairly quiet. The TPE allows the vibrations to travel easily, and the tip of the dolphin nose provides direct contact with the clit.
It seems as if Cal Exotics has improved their motors, which is nice. Unlike some of their other rabbits, the intensity of the vibrations in the clit stimulator are not affected by turning on the rotating beads. The vibrations remain the same, even if the beads are turned on. Another improvement is the rotating beads themselves- these ones stood up to clenching! While clenching, they did produce a whining noise, but did not stop rotating. They make a fair amount of noise on their own, but add in the whining and this is not a discreet toy.
Overall, the Diamond Dolphin is a good choice if you're looking for a rabbit-style vibrator. The beads stand up to clenching, both functions can be used at the same time without diminishing the power of either, and it's waterproof!
