The Black Magic pleasure kit is a completely inclusive vibrational kit featuring three different types of vibrators. This Doc Johnson set would be great for couples, and singles, male or female. Compact and discrete, these toys feature a wide range of intensity, and would be a great set to take on vacation, or for use as a starter kit for new toy aficionados.

Each of the toys is meant for use on the body's erogenous zones, and are not anatomy sensitive, so both men and women can enjoy them equally. An added bonus to this kit is that it is waterproof, making it safe for shower, bath, sauna, jacuzzi and sandy beach usage.

Each of the toys is made of black ABS plastic, and they all have vaguely matte/velvet finish. The texture does add a bit of drag--it is nowhere near the matte drag of silicone, but also does not have the smoothness of standard plastic toys--which makes the toys much easier to hold once it's wet.

The toys are tasteless, and odorless, but once you open the battery cavities of each there is a whiff of a strong plastic odor, so if you know that scent will bother you make sure to air it out; I was not bothered by the odor enough to be concerned as once the cap is closed the scent is undetectable. The plastic is hard, solid, unforgiving plastic.

The traditional vibrator is completely seamless and is untextured except for the ribbed turn dial.

The pocket rocket has a textured cap on it, with thirteen raised nubs in two circles; under the cap is the head of the rocket, which is textured with three raised metal circles. The rest of the pocket rocket is untextured, except for the ribbed on/off/open switch.

The bullet vibrator has a very noticeable seam through the center (horizontally) going all the way around it. The cord connecting the controller to the bullet is smooth plastic, and the controller is the same velvet plastic as the bullet vibrator and the other two toys.

The lubricant (1 ounce of Black Magic slick lubricant is included) is water-based, glycerin-free and paraben-free, and contains the following ingredients: Water (Aqua), Propanediol, PEG-8, Polyquaternium-7, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glucose, Lactoperoxidase, and Glucose Oxidase. I found that it did not keep me or the toys nearly as lubricated as with a silicone lubricant, but as a water based lubricant it had a fairly good lifespan. It was a little gummy/sticky after it dried, but it did leave my skin feeling soft. I did find, though, that it was not nearly as sticky as many lubricants, and did not make me want to immediately wash myself off after sex. When I did wash up, running water removed the residue from my hands, making this a good lubricant to use for those who won't have time to wash up after sex, or who don't want to take a full shower because a wet washcloth will suffice.

What's not to like about this kit? It truly has something for everyone.

The traditional vibrator is a straight, seven inch vibrator with a circumference of 3 1/2 inches, meant for penetrative usage or clitoral stimulation. It's fairly slim, and is easy to take; it would be a good warm-up toy for those seeking larger toys, or a great slimmer toy for those who prefer vibrators on the smaller end. It is seven inches long, so it is not the most discrete toy, but it would not be difficult to put in a drawer or a purse.

The pocket rocket, in traditional Doc Johnson style, is not intended for penetrative use, but merely external usage. I found that, with the cap on, it was nice to use for sensory play and teasing; it felt nice along my nipples with the vibrator turned on, and it was an interesting sensation running across my skin and lips with the vibrator off. I do caution, though, that it does not feel pleasant when it's pushed too hard against the skin. The pocket rocket measures in at 4 inches.

The bullet vibrator is slightly more girthy than the traditional vibrator with a circumference of 2 1/2 inches, and a length (the bullet itself) of 2 3/4 inches. The cord connecting the bullet and the controller is sturdy, even when I yanked on it, it showed no failure and the controller was easy to grip and hold onto.

This kit takes five batteries total, one AA battery in the pocket rocket, two AAA batteries in the bullet vibrator, and two AA batteries in the traditional vibrator. Batteries were easy to insert or remove. I did find that the pocket rocket battery compartment was accidentally opened more often than I am comfortable with, because the off button is between "on" and "off" and I'd often unseal it without realizing, so when I stored it, it came apart.

To begin with, these toys are all waterproof, as long as the caps are tightly sealed and the O-rings are all in good condition. I submerged them all underwater and was pleased to notice that there was no leakage at all. As with all waterproof toys, you should check the O-ring (and in the case of the bullet vibe, the plastic surrounding the connection wire) to make sure they appear to have no damage before usage.

The pocket rocket is one speed, controlled by a turn dial at the base of the toy. The vibrations are located in the head of the toy, and this is probably the least powerful toy of the three. This toy could be used for vaginal play, but I cannot imagine that being comfortable as the tiers seem like they would be painful upon removal. If you do chose to use this toy for penetration, this toy should never be used for anal; it's too short to get a good grip on and the risk factor is very high. Even so, it a very nice vibrator, with good vibrations. It's fairly quiet, unable to be heard under a blanket. Overall, I'd rate this at vibration intensity 3, sound 1.5. It also works well for massaging other erogenous zones, like nipples, the perineum, the testicles or the base of the penis.

The traditional vibrator is multi-speed and can be controlled by a turn-dial at the base of the toy, which makes this a good toy for amping up the speed progressively. The vibrations are located in the top of the toy, and can barely be felt by the bottom of the toy. It is strong vibration near the top of the toy, which makes this a good toy for clitoral stimulation using the tip of the toy, or for users who like strong deep vibration. I do not recommend this toy for anal play as there is no flared base. This vibrator is stronger than the pocket rocket, and a bit louder. Vibrational intensity of 3.5, sound of 2.

The bullet vibrator's vibrations are located in the bullet and it is controlled by the controller, attached by a plastic cord. This can be used for penetration vaginally, but not anally due to the possibility of the cord becoming detached. The vibrations have four levels, ranging from gentle and very quiet, to intense and slightly less quiet. This is the strongest of the vibrators, and like the traditional vibrator it can be lowered to a more manageable level of intensity. I was shocked at how quiet this vibrator was; it was never too loud to be masked by my comforter. The bullet cord is long enough that a partner laying or sitting beside you could control it easily, making this a fun couple's toy. This one has a vibrational intensity of 4, sound of 2.

Plastic is nonporous, and easy to care for; it can be washed with antibacterial soap, or deep cleansed with a 10% bleach solution. These toys should not be boiled, baked, laundered or cleaned in a dishwasher. After a 10% bleach solution, they are technically safe to partner share, but these toys do have seams where germs can hide, so I'd caution you to be safe and use condoms, toy covers or finger cots if you're sharing between orifices or partners for safety's sake. The toys can be stored in the packaging it came in, or all together in your preferred method, plastic will not melt or react unhappily together. Plastic can be used with any type of lubricant, oil, water or silicone.

The toys come in a black, purple and pink box with a clear window in the front from which you can see the toys. None of the toys came with instructions, but it was easy to figure out usage and battery info. The box included basic information about care (that caps should always be closed, that they toys are waterproof, etc.)

The packaging would be nice for gifting or storage.
