Dance with me!
If you only need or want one clitoral vibrator, this is definitely one you want to choose, especially if you're not super sensitive!

Pros
Strong, quiet, small... AMAZING.
Cons
Short charge life, recharging is a bit fiddly.
The Salsa is a fantastic little rechargeable bullet vibe made by the luxury company We-Vibe. It is primarily meant for clitoral use, though it is also excellent to use on nipples. It is exactly the size of my middle finger. Now, I know that doesn't help anyone else, especially because I have "man hands," but I just wanted to add that. Seriously, it is exactly the same size! The actual measurements are 3 1/2 inches long and 1/2 wide, and it's shaped like the classic bullet toys of old. Since it is so small, it is pretty discreet and pretty easy to hide.
Salsa is made of hard plastic, no taste nor smell to it. It is waterproof, which I find fantastic, having never had a waterproof vibrator before. Some vibrators claim to be waterproof but aren't really (c'mon, we've all had one of those) but the Salsa is truly and completely waterproof.
The Salsa is controlled by one button on the bottom. I'm not the biggest fan of one button controls, but with the size and shape of this toy, there's really nothing else they can do for more buttons.
There are eight different settings. Four constant vibration settings, increasing in power. The fifth is a weird pulsing setting: there's a slower pulse for a bit, and then a faster pulse. The sixth setting is the 'rollercoaster' setting. The seventh is just the faster pulse from the fifth setting. And then the last, what I call "Cha-cha." It, for lack of better description, goes BZZBZZ bzz bzz bzz. Normally I really, really hate patterns. For the most part, the Salsa is no exception. I prefer constant vibration, the highest I can get, so I usually always use setting number four. But, I actually love the last setting for when I'm in the mood for patterns. When you turn off the Salsa, it remembers which setting you were on. To turn it off, you have to press and hold the button for two seconds.
The vibrations are INCREDIBLY strong and deep for such a small thing. I am definitely a power queen. My favorite toy to use is the Wahl 2-speed. (I have limited myself from using it lately, so as not to desensitize myself.) The Salsa, while not as strong as the Wahl - it physically could not be - is very strong. I have noticed, though, that pressure does lessen it slightly — just slightly. And even though it's incredibly loud, it's incredibly quiet. Maybe not one bee, but one-and-a-half bees? I can't rate it as that, so I rated it as two. But it really is very quiet... unless it comes into contact with another hard surface, like plastic or tile. Then it gets LOUD.
Although it doesn't have a locking function for travel, I would say it's somewhat travel friendly, due to the size and how fast it charges. It charges for ninety minutes, which gives you between one and two hours of use, depending on what setting you use it on. However, one of the few cons of this toy is the frustrating charging base. The charging base is magnetic, and the magnets aren't the strongest. The slightest touch can detach the Salsa from the base. Also, the base cannot be set up vertically, which is annoying.
The Salsa does come with a white satin bag for storage, although the bag is quite huge, much bigger than it needs to be. Cleaning is easy, just soap and water is needed. Lube is also easy. Because the toy is made of plastic, it is compatible with all types of lube.

Experience
At first, I found orgasm a little difficult with the Salsa. But then I discovered something: just pressing and holding it doesn't do much for me.
I have a particularly long clitoral hood that does NOT like to stay retracted. To get the best out of this toy, I usually have to hold it back with one hand, and stroke - yes, stroke - my clit with the Salsa with my other hand. Stroking it actually feels a LOT better than just holding it there. This is annoying because I can't easily use the Salsa and a dildo this way, but if I'm warmed up enough, I don't HAVE to use both hands.

Follow-up commentary
1 month after original review
I still absolutely adore my Salsa. Every other vibrator I have is rarely used nowadays. This is my favorite vibrator of my (admittedly small) collection. I don't think any other vibrator could ever beat this one. And yes, that is a challenge!
