I was so excited to receive the Impulse G and Sleeve in the mail that I went out before it arrived to buy batteries, so that I'd be all prepared once it got here. My girlfriend "borrowed" my last vibe and I haven't seen it since, so I've been vibe-less for a while now.
The vibrator by California Exotics arrived packaged very nicely in easy-to-open plastic container (none of this struggling with scissors). It came with instructions, which made me giggle with such phrases as, "Insert toy into the vagina or anus slowly so as not to cause pain." Slightly comical, yes, but also important information for someone who is new to the world of sex toys, so I appreciated it.
The packaging also has a nice guide to the levels of vibration:
1) Vibe 1
2) Vibe 2
3) Vibe 3
4) Roller coaster
5) Fast Pulsing
6) Stair step
7) Vibe 4
Upon reading this and testing them out (just on my hand, for starters) I expected to enjoy vibe 3 and fast pulsing the most... and they were enjoyable. But once I put the silicone sleeve on the toy (unrolled over it like a condom) and inserted it, I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed the "roller coaster" function.
The toy worked great - a simple touch of a button to turn on and cycle through the functions. You can't jump directly to a specific function, but I found it didn't bother me at all. I had so much fun playing with this vibe that a quick "10 minutes to check out the new toy before bed" extended to over an hour of play. The curve pressing against my g-spot was quite enjoyable, also.
As for noise, the different levels make different noises, but I'd say at its quietest you can hear it through covers (though not a door) and at its loudest you can hear it through a door, but not by the neighbors.
The "vroom" factor also varies by function, but I'd rate the lowest as a pleasing buzzing sensation (good for the clitoris), and the highest as strong and steady that will get the job done.
I highly recommend this toy - it's many functions make it one that you won't easily get bored of!

Oh, of course! Vibes 1-4 are just steady, continuous buzzing at a single level. The higher the number, the more intense the vibrations. Sorry, I meant to include that in the original review and it slipped my mind!
