The Body and Soul I is a vibrating egg with a wireless remote control. It could be used by anyone who enjoys vibration. It's intended use is to be inserted, and then controlled by your partner via the controller.



The possibilities for this are endless. Imagine being at a crowded bar, a movie theater or even a grocery store, and having your partner control the vibrations you're feeling, with no one around you being aware. Could you control yourself and stay quiet during a romantic comedy? Could you calmly order a drink, even with the vibrations bumped up to high? Any public situation where there is a bit of background noise would create a setting where this toy could be used. After a night of amazing teasing, you could go home and have amazing sex!

The manufacturer doesn't recommend that this toy be used anally, so it is purely for vaginal or clitoral stimulation. Any clitoral stimulation will most likely need to occur in private, because it would be quite loud to have this resting against you instead of being inserted. You could hand off the remote while you hold it against yourself, and still get the rush of the vibrations being controlled by your partner, but any public play will necessitate it being inserted. You could use this toy solo, as well, if you so desired. When you are finished playing with this set, you pull on the retrieval cord (which is also the antenna) to extract the egg.

The Body and Soul is made of ABS plastic with a PU coat, and has a velvety smoothness to it. Both the egg and the controller are made of the same material. The shade of blue is lovely, and has a distinct shimmer to it. The surface has a matte finish, but there is no texture to it. There is no discernible taste or smell to the egg or the controller.

Beginners and advanced toy users alike will enjoy this toy, though users who are looking for strong vibrations may want to look elsewhere.

The design of the Body and Soul is classic and discreet. The vibrating egg is shaped like a classic vibrating egg, oval and rounded. The size is ample enough to make its presence known, but not large enough to make it too big for a beginner. The remote controller has the appearance of a generic personal electronic item, such as a phone or mp3 player, so it won't draw the eye. It fits easily in the palm of your hand. The LED panel does light up while it's in use, so using it in a dark bar or theater may attract a bit of attention. Covering the top panel with your other hand would solve this problem easily enough.



The retrieval cord (antenna) is long enough to ensure easy removal, but it does tend to irritate while the egg is inserted. Getting it positioned in a place where it is comfortable can take a bit of tinkering. It does seem sturdy and unlikely to be come loose.

The controls of the Body and Soul are easy to use. The controller resembles an mp3 player, and although people may wonder why you don't have headphones, it won't attract much attention. After inserting the batteries in the controller and egg, you hand off the egg to whomever will be on the receiving end of your controls. After they have the egg where they'd like it to be, they are free to do whatever they'd like, be it getting a drink at the bar or getting comfortable in the movie theater seat next to you.

The control unit has a central heart shaped button with three sections. There is a power button on the bottom of the heart, and plus and minus buttons on the top. As the person in control, you slide the switch on the side of the controller unit to the "on" position, and hit the power button on the bottom center of the heart panel. This also activates the LED display on the controller, which gives you a numerical display from 00 to 10 and heart patterns which correspond to the vibrator settings. To start the egg vibrating, you press the plus button. Pressing the plus button cycles you through the 10 vibration settings. To go back to earlier settings, you can press the minus button, or you can simply press the plus button until it passes 10, as it will take you back to 00 where you can start again. While on any of the numerical settings, you can press the power button to turn the toy off. When you turn the toy on again, it starts at 00; it does not return to the setting it was on when it was turned off.

The ten vibration settings are:

1-Low steady vibrations
2-Medium steady vibrations
3-High steady vibrations
4-Pulse
5-Cycles of three pulses and an extended pulse
6-Cycle through periods of slow pulse, medium pulse and fast pulse
7-Alternating between periods of slow pulse and low steady
8-Alternating between periods of medium pulse and medium steady
9-Step by step increase through 8 different intensity levels
10-Fast pulse with an occasional extended pulse

The buttons are not difficult to press, so they would likely be pressed if the controller was placed in a pocket. None of the vibration settings is going to satisfy someone who needs a great deal of power. At the highest settings, it is still a mid-range vibration. The vibrations themselves are more of a buzz sensation than a rumble. The product insert advises that the remote can control the egg from a range up to 26 feet. When tested, the egg was responsive up to 30 feet and through three walls. The egg is waterproof, but the controller is not. It performed well in the bathtub. You could relax in the bath with a good book, and when your partner wanted to signal you that they were ready for love they could simply push a button.

The Body and Soul does tend to use batteries quickly. The batteries should be removed from the toy when it is not in use. The controller and egg each take a different type of battery, and neither one is a common battery type. The egg requires two N batteries, and the remote requires a single 12 V battery. After only some testing, and two times using the toy, the batteries needed to be replaced.

The Body and Soul is made of hard plastic. The egg can be cleaned with soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. The remote can be wiped off if it needs cleaning. Either silicone or water based lubes can be used. Storing plastic toys is very simple: they can placed in your drawer or toy box with no fear of them reacting with toys around them.

The packaging is basic, but smart. Within a cardboard box, each component (remote, egg, batteries) is in an individual plastic bag. The cardboard box has the name of the toy and color photos of the toy on the front and side, and basic toy features listed on the back. It is obvious what the toy is for based on reading the box, so I wouldn't call it discreet. The toy does come with an instruction sheet, which informs you how to use and care for it. You could use the box for storing the toy, as it would keep the two parts of the set from getting separated from each other.

I can personally attest that this toy is a great way to dip your toe into the pool of public play. A normal road trip, with a stop for a bite to eat on the way home, provided two chances for teasing. Knowing that your partner has the power to turn on that vibrating egg at any time is an amazing turn on. Watching for their little smirk as they turn it on, anticipating when it might start, and finally the surprise of the sensation itself provide amazing foreplay. With such a long drawn out session of teasing, when we finally got down to business, the release was amazing.
