Behold! The Numbing Crystal!

The Enchanted Crystals vibrator didn't leave me feeling enchanted. Instead, it left my fingers numb and my body frustrated. Though teasing with this toy is nice, when it comes to getting down to business, this vibe was seriously lacking. It does have some good features to it, but without stronger, deeper vibrations, none of it matters to me. If you're very sensitive, give it a shot. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Use

Enchanted Crystals from Evolved Novelties is a compact vibrator that's adorable and beginner friendly. This vibrator is best used for external stimulation as a teaser toy. If you're very sensitive to vibrations, or prefer using a warm up toy before something more powerful, this would be a great toy to consider trying out.

Not only can this toy be used for solo use, but it can be used along with a partner as well. Tease your partner by using the toy on their nipples, clitoris, perineum, etc. or jazz up your oral play by running it along your partner's shaft, testicles, and for external anal play. The toy is great for foreplay and is a wonderful warm up for hotter and heavier sessions. It is a little large to use comfortably on the clitoris during intercourse, but that will also depend on the position.

This vibrator can be used for shallow vaginal insertion, but should never be inserted anally. There's no flared base to prevent the toy from slipping inside of you and could potentially cause an embarrassing trip to the emergency room. Keep this external, apart from vaginal play, and you should be all set.

There's no need to keep this toy strictly in the bedroom. Because of it's compact size, it's a great option to toss into your purse and use whenever the mood hits. Even better, you don't need to use caution when it comes to using it in and around water. This vibe is waterproof and there's no concern about water leaking into the toy if you use it in the tub or shower and while you're cleaning it.

Material / Texture

Enchanted Crystals is made from ABS plastic which has an Eden material safety rating of 8/10 for being made from food-grade material, being hypo-allergenic, non-porous, latex free, and phthalates free.

The surface of the toy is somewhat velvety and matte with the majority of the toy being covered in what the packaging calls 'satin smooth coating'. It's not quite as nice to the touch as velvet cote, but it's much better feeling than some plastic toys. The battery cap itself isn't covered in the same coating, but is shiny and smooth like normal plastic. There's no drag to any part of the toy and doesn't pick up any dust or lint.

The toy is very rigid and has no give at all. The only area of movement is where the battery cap is unscrewed, and where the toy is turned on. Since the toy isn't large and can only be inserted a small amount into the vagina, it's unlikely that the hard material could cause discomfort, but use caution either way.

While two ends are rounded and without texture, the center portion is made up of twelve ridges that create a ribbed like sensation. This area isn't easily felt during use, but it does give you something to grip onto when your hand and the toy are covered in lube. Because the ends are large and rounded, it provides a broad stimulation that covers a larger area of your body.

The texture of the areas that connect with the body should work for just about anyone. Those that need texture to feel stimulated might find this to be lacking, but as an external teasing toy it should be fine for most.

When the toy arrived there was no obvious scent, not even a new plastic smell.

Design / Shape / Size

Available in a wide range of colors, there should be a little something for everyone. The one I received is mostly pink, but one of the bulbs on the end is purple. It is very girly and looks like it was made for a princess. Don't let that steer you away from this product if you prefer something less girly. Check out the other color options, there's bound to be one that suits your taste.

This toy is quite cute and reminds me more of a small 'magic wand' I would find with my children's toys and not in my bedroom. For that reason, it's very discreet and even if left out, few people would assume it's an adult product. If you don't have children, it might look like a pet toy, but if you are without both, I'm not totally sure what someone might think it is.

The vibe is very interesting in design, being made of two bulbs on either side, and a ribbed section in the middle. The center of the piece is the smallest area, and widens on either side before meeting up with each circular end. The purple end on my vibe is where you change the functions and unscrew the battery cap. Three ribs down is where the cap connects with the rest of the toy. The end that you would use against your body, is the side that's the same color as the handle.

The bulbs on either end of the toy are the same size, they come in at 1 1/2" in diameter. The handle starts off at 1" in diameter and decreases to 3/4" in the center of the toy. The total length is 4 1/4" and has an insertable length of 3". It's a very compact size that would work really well for on the go. Keep it in your purse for spur of the moment sessions while you're out, keep one in the car for lengthy trips with your partner, or tuck one into any other small compartment for easy access.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Enchanted Crystals is powered by one AAA battery that's not included. Once you unscrew the battery cap, you insert the positive end of the battery first. While the cap is open, you can see a clear o-ring at the base of the threads. This is important to leave in place since it prevents water from leaking into your toy when the cap is screwed on tightly. You'll also see that there's a rubbery piece inside the battery compartment itself. Don't remove this since it's there for a reason.

Once you've replaced the cap, you're ready to power your toy on. There are no buttons to press, but instead, the ball on the end of the battery cap needs to be twisted clockwise (with the cap facing you). Twisting it a little bit will bring you to a lower level of vibration, but as you keep turning it the power increases. The packaging states that this is 'true multi-speed'. While the vibrations levels blend together fairly well, I can detect three different levels of power. A steady low, medium, and high.

When it's time to turn the toy off, you turn it counterclockwise, but be careful. If you turn it too far, the cap will completely twist off. This can be frustrating if it was unintentional, so make sure you only turn it until the vibrations stop.

Even on the highest setting, these buzzy vibrations are moderate at best. While it would work great for someone that's very sensitive, it's best used as a teaser toy in general. Power queens will be deeply disappointed, and those that prefer rumbly vibrations might be annoyed by the buzzy sensations put out by this toy. The only good news about it lacking in power, is that it's also very quiet. Though it could be heard from under the covers, no one would be able to hear it through a closed door; making it a great option for someone that has roommates.

The vibrations are focused pretty evenly throughout the whole toy, but are a little stronger in the handle and the bulb opposite the battery cap. They travel easily into the area you're holding and will make your fingers feel numb almost instantly.

After fully submerging the toy, no water got into the battery cap and the vibrations were still at the same level of power. This would make a great little toy to store near the tub for a little treat to help you relax.

Care and Maintenance

Being that this toy is plastic, you can easily clean it with antibacterial soap and warm water, or your favorite sex toy cleaner. If you're sharing with a partner, you can wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol or clean it with a 10% bleach solution. Because it's plastic and there are internal working parts, it can't be boiled or put into your dishwasher.

Since there are so many grooves in the central area of the toy, you want to make sure you use a tooth brush or something similar to really get into the crevasses. Just using a wipe won't be enough if you've used it vaginally or if it was covered in lubricant. Take the time to clean it well since you don't want it holding on to any type of bacteria. Make sure the toy is totally dry and the battery is removed before storing.

This material type is compatible with all lubricants, but you want to avoid using an oil-based lube if you're using it vaginally. There are no compatibility concerns as far as keeping this directly with another toy, making it easy to store. It doesn't come with a storage pouch and one isn't really necessary. It's unlikely that anything serious will happen to your toy if you don't keep it inside of something, but a small pouch or sandwich bag will work if it bothers you.

Packaging

The packaging this toy comes in is modern and attractive looking, but isn't at all discreet. The elongated plastic dome is clear apart from the information displayed on it; making the toy clearly visible. The information on it is useful, but gives away what this toy is for. The front shows the company name, product name, color, and a little blurb about what this 'crystal' is designed to do for you. The back is much more informative and gives you the key points to know about the toy and the direction of use. It also states that there's a 1 year warranty.

The top of the dome has a plastic loop that would make it easy to hang on a hook, and the bottom of the package is where you open it. Once you remove the bottom, the toy comes out as well. In the cap there's a plastic piece that's made to fit perfectly around one of the bulbs to help prevent the toy from moving around inside the packaging.

Though it's cute, the packaging isn't great for long term storage. The plastic can be recycled or tossed as you see fit.

Because this isn't the most discreet packaging, it doesn't make a great gift for someone who's easily embarrassed. It would be cute to purchase a bunch of these and give them out at bachelorette or other adult party, but doesn't seem tasteful enough for anything apart from that.

Experience

Being the power queen that I am, I had a good feeling this product wasn't going to work for me. However, since Eden was running a special, I added the product to my cart, hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. Once the product arrived I was surprised by the small size. I guess for some reason I thought the vibe was going to be a little larger. I was glad that it was small since I prefer clitoral toys and this was a nice size for me.

When I turned the toy on, I instantly knew it wasn't going to be right for me. The broad stimulation provided by the bulbous end wasn't my taste, and the buzzy vibrations left my hand and clitoris numb and unsatisfied. While it did work a little bit better for other external stimulation (such as my nipples), I simply couldn't enjoy it because of how tingly it made my hand.

Seems like a nice product for someone sensitive, but this just wasn't right for me.

I'm not a fan of broad buzzy vibrations either. Blech. Great review though! Love the pics.

Great review! I'm sorry that this didn't work out. I'm glad that you pointed out that it was rigid because from the design it looks like it would be movable.
