Anyone who has never seen a red sunflower is missing out!
This would be a lovely toy for a beginner due to it's fun look and soft texture, but any lady would enjoy it! It is just thick enough to give you the full sensation without being painful. This toy has many safety features, but also has a few downfalls. You should weigh them out for yourself before purchasing.

Pros
Soft, Phthalates free, Waterproof, Nice angle for gentle g-spotting.
Cons
Much drag, No pulses, Somewhat porous, collects hair or dust.
The G-spot Sunflower from Doc Johnson is intended to be used as a g-spot vibrator. It is angled at the end to rub your internal sweet spot nicely. The tip of this toy is remarkably soft and those who require pin point stimulation may need to look else where. But if you like a squishy toy and do not require pinpoint stimulation to get where you are going, this toy may be right up your alley.
This toy could be used on the clitoris as well. I have found that the upraised sunflowers can be a nice little tease, and the back of the angle for your g-spot works well for "grinding the corn". For this purpose it can be used for added stimulation during intercourse while your fellow is penetrating you.
Since it is totally waterproof, it can be taken into any body of water to have your fun there. This toy gets a bit noisy as you get higher up in the vibes and if you live with roommates or family, the waterproof feature could come in very handy. Taking it in the shower would mask the noise for you.
This toy should not be used for anal penetration. It lacks a flared base or cord, and if inserted and it slips in, there will be no way to get it out. Though, the tip itself can be quite simulating when grazed over that sensitive area.
This toy is made of TPR and is latex free, phthalates free, and is hypo-allergenic. The only downside to TPR is that it is somewhat porous. The feel of this toy is squishy. It can easily be squeezed and pinched. It bends and wiggles without much effort. This is ideal for the girl who likes soft toys. I have noticed that since it is so incredibly soft, I have a harder time getting the friction I require to my g-spot. I tend to need to hold the base toward my anus to get the toy to come forward enough to be rubbing my g-spot. All bodies and vagina's are different, so this may not be the case for you. But if you are shaped like me, heads up, it will be a little difficult to use.
All around this toy are medium sized sunflowers which are upraised and of the same feel, super soft. These, for me, add a bit of friction when I am thrusting and help to give me that "full" feeling. This toy does have a bit of drag to it and I highly recommend using this toy with lubrication. TPR is safe for two kinds of lubrication, silicone and water based lubricants.
The design of this toy is like many others in its class. It has a slight angle at the tip to hit your internal sweet spot. The TPR of this toy is a clear red and the vibrating bullet inside can be clearly seen to the trained eye. The cute little sunflowers can be easily seen as well as felt(both to the touch and internally), and adds to the look of this toy.
This toy is 8 1/2" long all together with only 6" of that being insert-able. This toy has a diameter of just over 1 3/4" and does not look very intimidating at all, especially after feeling the squish of it and seeing the cute sunflowers. It is a cute toy any girl would be happy to have in her collection.
I would highly recommend this toy to a beginner. It's non-intimidating design, coupled with the squishy factor makes me think this would be a great introduction to toys. The only downside for a beginner may be the girth. But since it is so squishy, I wouldn't be intimidated by the girth.
This toy's control is very simple. It has a turn knob on the front of the plastic piece that you simply turn to the right to turn on and up. There is no click on or light to show you the toy is on or all the way off, but it is an easy toy anyone could figure out how to use. When you first start to spin the dial and the toy turns on, the vibes are on super low, but become increasingly more strong as you turn it up all the way. When at it's highest point, this toy gets pretty loud and could easily be heard through a door, but the intensity of the vibrations are worth the bit of noise. This toy lacks any pulses.
Inserting new batteries is also a breeze. Unscrew the plastic piece and remove from the toy, then insert the 2 AA batteries.
While doing an underwater experiment, I discovered that the seal on this toys battery compartment is very well sealed. Even after being submerged for a while there was not a drip of water inside.
Since this toy is made or TPR, it cannot be boiled to disinfect. Warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner will do the trick for you with this guy. When cleaning, be sure to clean and inspect all of the indentations in the sunflowers, I would imagine grooves like that are where bacteria likes to hide. Since this toy is somewhat porous, it should not be shared, and if you intend on sharing, it should be shared with a condom.
Maintenance is fairly easy with G-Spot Sunflower. Simply change the batteries when they start to run low(the toy will be less intense) or die. This toy does pick up hair and dust due to it's material, so I recommend leaving in the box, or invest in an Eden pouch. I personally have chosen to pouch mine, since the box is a bit big for my taste. If you cannot afford an Eden pouch, a plastic baggy will keep it safe from dust and bacteria. I also highly recommend cleaning before and after each use due to it's ability to collect dust and hair.
This toy comes to you in a mostly clear plastic box. Your toy is clearly visable on the front, but from the sides it is painted over and you cannot view the toy.

I bought this when it was on sale, and I sure am glad I did. It is an awesome toy for g-spotting and I have grown to really enjoy the squish of this toy. At first I wasn't sure I would like it because of how bendy and soft it is, but I think internally the softness was a nice change from the glass or ceramic I generally use. I definitely this this toy might be better for a beginner, but I am proud to have it as part of my collection.
Here is a few pictures I took.
^Here you can see the Doc Johnson emblem just above the dial knob.
This is it's size in comparison to a bottle of body spray here on Eden.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it3 months after original review
I still enjoy this toy, but I do not use it very often. Back when I first got it, it's softness was the bees knees to me, but lately I've been digging firmed toys with higher vibrations. I've also been discovering that I really like patterns, which this toy has none of. But, I do love how easy it is to clean whenever I do use it!
I still think this is a great toy and it would be a good buy for almost anyone.
