Ako's Not My Soulmate
Ako is a silky soft, super powerful clitoral vibrator for a woman who knows just what she wants. She also has several applications for couples play. Ako's sturdy, well made, and quite affordable considering the quality you get. Though her buttons might take some getting used to, she's worth the time invested and is a hard bargain to pass up if this is your kind of toy.

Pros
Super duper soft, pretty, very intense vibrations and a breeze to clean
Cons
Tricky controls to use in the dark, would be a much better toy if it remembered user settings
...but she could be yours. The Picobong Ako by LELO is a clitoral stimulation toy that's about 4 1/2 inches long. You can insert up to about 3 inches of that length if you choose to use her as an internal vibe, but that's not her primary purpose. You can also use Ako to stimulate other erogenous zones, like your breasts, if you so desire. Ako could also have some applications as a couples toy. You could stimulate your partner's ass with her, or hold her between you during intercourse because of her super small size. I haven't gotten a chance to use her this way, but I'm looking forward to it! Depending on the setting you choose, Ako can purr like a kitten or roar like a tiger. I like her for her wide variety of strengths, but her higher settings may not be for everyone. Ako is made of silicone and has an ABS plastic base. She takes 2 AAA batteries. Ako is so soft that you may not need to use any lube at all with her. If you do choose to use a lube, avoid using a silicone based one so that you won't degrade your vibrator and leave dimples in it over time. She's waterproof, so she's safe to use in the shower as long as you are careful not to get the base too wet.
Cleaning Ako couldn't be simpler. The only thing you have to remember is that you must remove the batteries of any vibrator before cleaning it. It's also a good idea to take your batteries out of any vibrator when you are not using it so that you don't run the risk of ruining a toy through battery corrosion. You can clean Ako with soap and water or an antibacterial spray/wipe. I prefer to clean her with antibacterial soap after I've removed the batteries. You can then wipe her dry with a soft, clean towel, or let her air dry. Even though Ako is made of silicone, she doesn't really attract fuzz, hair, lint, or fur the way you might expect with other silicone toys.
I purchased the Picobong Ako for my own personal use, since my husband is often away on business trips. I was attracted by an affordable price (got her on sale), the array of bright, cheerful color choices, simplicity of cleaning, and the fact that she purported to be both strong and quiet. I knew that I needed a lot of strong clitoral stimulation to climax, so I reasoned that Ako was the perfect vibe for me. More on that in the experience section of this review.
Ako comes in a fairly sturdy, attractive looking box that is color coded to coordinate with the color vibe you chose. Mine is purple. The box is about 7 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide, so it's a good size for easy storage. It features a clear plastic front. Inside the box, you'll find Ako secured inside a black cardboard packaging which I found very tricky to open. I threw this part of the box out as soon as I got my toy out of it, but I have kept the purple box. Ako comes with a Picobong logo key chain, an instructional booklet, as well as information on the one year warranty provided. Ako does NOT come with batteries; you'll need to purchase those separately.
Ako has 3 buttons: a + button, a - button, and an M button, which stands for "mode". You turn her on by holding down the + button. Hold down - for a few seconds to turn her off. The mode button cycles the vibrator through its 12 patterns. Once the vibrator is on, the controls are simple. You strengthen vibrations by pressing +, and weaken them by pressing -.

Experience
I was super excited to receive Ako in the mail. When she arrived, I took her right out of the box and was impressed by how buttery soft she felt, even for silicone. She fit perfectly in the palm of my hand. I had trouble figuring out how to put batteries in, but found a diagram on the white plastic around her battery casing after careful inspection. It would have been a lot easier for me if LELO had included a diagram in the instructional booklet, but no such luck. I also had some trouble getting the battery cap back on. Even after several uses, I still find this a bit tricky.
I'm sad to say that I wasn't as pleased with Ako as I expected to be, but this has more to do with me than the product. She does deliver some very intense clitoral stimulation, but I discovered the more that I used her that I really needed g spot stimulation as well. It took me a long time to achieve orgasm with just the Ako alone, and then it was really a matter of finding the right pattern for me. I found that I couldn't stimulate my g-spot with my fingers while manipulating Ako, either. My arms just weren't long enough.
There are a couple of weak spots about Ako herself that I need to address. Her controls look simple, but in the heat of the moment (and in the dark) I found that it was hard to remember which button was + and which was -, and this really took away from my experience. A simple function to make the buttons glow in the dark or light up could have fixed this problem. I didn't find a lot of difference between some of the modes. I personally needed some of the stronger roller coaster vibration settings to achieve orgasm, and those aren't nearly as quiet as the other settings are. Don't get me wrong; on the lower settings, Ako really is as quiet as she claims to be. However, when you put her on her highest settings, she starts to push the 3 bee barrier, which is a big concern for me. I live in an apartment with a small child. I think that if I continue to use Ako, I will definitely play a radio or something similar to cover noise. One other note on the modes: I wish Ako could remember my favored settings, so that I didn't have to repeatedly hit the mode button in the hope of finding the one I needed at any given time.
Overall, she wasn't what I thought I was getting, but she's a very well made toy that's reasonably affordable. I think she might be a great buy for you if you really do need clitoral stimulation as your primary method of reaching orgasm.
I'm going to give Ako 3 stars, but really she's on the borderline between a 3 and a 4. I knock her down somewhat for her awkward controls, and the fact that she isn't as quiet on high settings as I was hoping she'd be.

Follow-up commentary
30 days after original review
It turns out that I just needed a little practice with Ako to experience some extremely intense orgasms. I still wish her controls were more clearly labeled. It would be nice if she didn't eat AAA batteries with quite so much abandon. That said, Ako has become my go to vibrator. I imagine she'll hold that rank until I can save up for something 3 or 4 times her price tag.
