The Basic Essential Slim Softee is a different type of G-spot vibrator which allows the user more freedom of movement and comfort. With a slim diameter, the toy is a wonderful choice for beginners who are a little uncomfortable with larger toys. Also, the hooked end at the tip is extremely soft, so the user needn't worry about excessive pressure. This toy can be used on the clit, but the vibrations do not carry well to the tip.

In essence, this vibe is a wonderful choice for beginning G-spot users or for those out there who simply want to experiment with something new. Perfect for alone time, couple play, or even party play.

The Basic Essentials Slim Softee lives up to its name. The vibrator itself is constructed out of clear, hard plastic. This is covered by a soft TPR cover. Since TPR varies in texture and stiffness, I feel it is important to describe the texture in depth. The sleeve is almost jelly like, with a squishy feel and give. Even so, the form holds up well and stickiness is almost nonexistent. In other words, a very soft, pliable toy with a hard base. The best of both worlds as far as I am concerned. The toy has very little odor and is tasteless. Perfect for beginners.

Unlike many types of G-spot vibrators, the Slim Softee is ridged and waved. The tip begins in a fingerprint of six ridges which become increasingly wider. From there, the shaft sports three raised waves which stimulated the G-spot even after the curved tip had passed its mark. This is something I found very important. With my prior G vibe, I always had to make sure to have the tip resting against my G-spot. With this vibe, I can be more carefree, which is a real plus.

The only problem here is in the mold itself. The mold does not seem to be airtight,so during manufacturing, a few imperfections were molded in. I can sit back, and count more than three creases, small lumps, or smudges of material. Even so, the imperfections are not large and do not take away from the toy's aesthetics or performance.

This toy is not discreet but it is suitable for travel due to its small size.

The Slim Softee is just your basic multispeed vibrator. The control unit is at the bottom of the shaft and is manipulated by a simple turn dial. What is odd about this unit is that the turn dial lacks any type of instruction. Even so, the user should not find it difficult, as one direction turns the unit on and increases the speed and the other direction decreases the speed before turning the unit off. Vibrations are concentrated three fourths of the way down, which may sound a little odd, but works well with this toy. The vibrations do not carry well throughout the entire toy, but when in use, is not missed. It seems the vibrations hit just the right spots without any effort on the part of the user. I myself, use this toy at full speed, which creates a strong sense of stimulation on the G-spot.

Noise level is minimal. This toy could be used in a dorm room, or in a bedroom with the door closed. Thus, the low noise level should be preferred by those who wish to keep some secrecy about their alone time play.

Sadly, the O-ring on my unit doesn't seem to be placed just right, so I am a little apprehensive about taking it into the shower with me. With a little tinkering, perhaps I will be able to get it on just right, but as of yet, no such luck.

Since this toy is made of TPR material, I highly recommend that you cover it with a condom if you intend to share. Also, because this toy is soft and attracts lint, it is important to wash it before and after each use with a little mild soap and water or a toy cleaner. Don't worry though, this toy is easy to store. Just toss it in a drawer or toy chest. Finally, never use oil lubes with this toy.

This toy arrives with minimal plastic packaging. No frills here. The instructions for use and care are located on the back. Basically, California Exotics recommends that the toy always be washed before and after each use and used with ONLY water based lubes. Also, the included pictures show the toy with and without the sleeve. While it might be tempting to remove the toy from the sleeve for play, I would not recommend it. Most toys are hard to get back into sleeves without lube. Finally, the unit comes complete with a removable battery installation instruction guide. The unit takes two AAA batteries which are not included.

I have really only had one other G-spot vibrator in the past and was expecting the same experience. What I received was very different. I pulled the toy out of the plastic container and inspected it. I liked the feel of the toy and the light weight of the shaft. After I had lubed the toy up I decided to give it a try. Upon first impression, the toy wasn't much by itself. It needed some vibes so I flipped the dial and rubbed my G-spot. It took a little while but soon I had a wonderful sensation going which took me over the edge into bliss. All in all, a wonderful toy if you have some time to really spend on yourself.
