If you're looking for a solid toy with strong and rumbly vibrations but have a small budget, this is your toy. It's absolutely huge, but even if you find you can't handle the size you can still use this on your nipples, partner's penis, clitoris, or anywhere else on the body.
The Jumping Gyrator Power Swirl is a vibrator by Cal Exotics that I didn't have very high hopes for. It's best used for external stimulation (clitoris, nipples, penis, etc) and can also be used for vaginal penetration if you're up for its size. I will warn you that since there is no flared base, it's best not to use this for anal play.
Here is the Power Swirl:
The Power Swirl is waterproof and absolutely huge! This would be perfect for size queens who want something inexpensive and not made of terrible material. Even if you aren't a size queen this has worked wonderfully for me on my clitoris. My partner usually hates vibrations on his penis and thinks they feel weird but he actually enjoyed me running this along him.
While not terribly loud, I do feel it could be heard by someone standing on the outside of the door if you don't have the TV or music on. Definitely not good to use if you live in a dorm room and have no time alone.
The Power Swirl is made out of PU coated plastic which means it has kind of a velvet feel to it. It scores a 7 on the Eden safety scale and is phthalate and latex free. There has been some speculation about whether or not the PU coating is porous but after a little help from Ryuson and this forum post that is isn't porous when a very thin layer is used.
After opening the Power Swirl I did my usual inspection. I found it to be very rigid with no give, soft feeling, and also no smell or taste. There is a tiny bit of texture that swirls around the vibe giving it it's name. The texture is very light and therefore not great for a texture lover, as it can hardly be felt while inserted in the vagina. It does feel nice when rubbed along the clit for external stimulation.
Here are the swirls:
The Power Swirl comes in pink, purple, and blue. The tip or head is slightly bigger than the rest of the vibrator, and it varies in size along the length of because of the swirl. It's very girthy so lube is definitely needed if you're trying to use this internally. Size queens will really appreciate this strong inexpensive vibe but if you prefer average size like me, or are a beginner you probably won't enjoy using this in your vagina.
Here are my fingers attempting to wrap around the head:
Overall the size and shape didn't work for me internally.
Here is a size comparison photo:
Left to right iPhone, Bent Graduate, Power Swirl, and Pure Wand
Measurements:
Length: 7.5 inches
Insertable length: 6.5 inches
Circumference at largest point: 5.5 inches
Circumference at smallest point: 5 inches
Diameter: 1.75 inches
Now that you've seen a couple photos, this thing is obviously huge. Insert at your own risk.
While this doesn't look like a penis, it still is a phallic shape and is obviously a sex toy. It's not very easy to hide because of it's size either. The vibrations don't lock for travel so it's best to take the batteries out.
Now we're finally going to talk about what I love about the Power Swirl! As I mentioned earlier, I wasn't expecting to like this very much. I popped in 3 AA batteries and was stunned when I turned it on. Let me tell you, I own quite a few strong and buzzy vibes. I expected that this would be of decent power, but I had no clue it would be so rumbly! The less expensive vibrators are usually pretty buzzy. I have to point out that while the name and package suggest it gyrates, it does not. It just vibrates.
As I mentioned before this takes 3 AA batteries:
When putting the end back on you have to line up the little notches and twist. I prefer the notches to the threaded screw kind because I've had some of those strip on me. This is waterproof and performed quite well in the water. The seal stays in place so you don't have to worry about adjusting it before your water sports.
There are only 2 speeds which I consider to be medium and high. I actually appreciate the simplicity, it's very easy to use. To turn it on you press the pink button:
This will turn it on medium. Press it again for high, and again to turn it back off.
The vibrations can be felt throughout but are stronger in the tip and middle. I did notice that when a pressure was applied, the vibrations dimmed a little bit. On medium I think it's a solid 3 vrooms and 2 bees. On high it's 4 vrooms and 3 bees. It is definitely a battery guzzler so keep some extras on hand!
Being waterproof makes the Power Swirl very easy to clean. Simply wash it with warm water and soap, toy wipes, toy cleaner, or wipe it with a 10% bleach solution. Do not put it in the dishwasher or boil it.
To store you can just put it in a drawer. The packaging is the type you just want to throw away, and it takes up more space than necessary in a growing collection.
You can use silicone or water-based lubricant. If you plan to insert this, I strongly recommend silicone as it's slicker that most water-based lubes.
I want to apologize a million times because I have misplaced the outer-box for my Power Swirl. I generally keep even the cheapest of packages, but for some reason the box has just disappeared. I'm thinking my dog may have taken off with it, or maybe my partner threw it away.
The package is simple and see-through, and looks just like it does on the product page. It flips open at the top and inside the toy is sitting in a plastic mold:
Yes, I am just as confused as you are. I have no idea why I have that part of the package but not the actual box.
Inside the box is a simple users manual telling you how to put the batteries in, doesn't tell you how to actually use the toy though. I would not recommend the package alone as a gift box because it's pretty cheesy like most boxes for calex vibes. You can wrap it, or put it in a gift bag.
I enjoyed this vibrator a lot and have used it quite a few times so far. My Ina 2 is my go to internal vibrator, but when I want something to use on just my clit, this is my go to guy right now. It's a little bulky for a clitoral vibrator, but it's strong and rumbly. That is not easy to find in a cheap toy. Before my favorite cheap vibrator was the Velvet Touch by Doc Johnson, but this has taken its spot. I definitely wish it wasn't so big and girthy, but I think it's good that they were trying to please those with a small budget and a hunger for girth.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it1 month after original review
The Power Swirl eats batteries like crazy. I still like it, but it's just too big to want to use as a clitoral vibrator all the time. After a while, it just got annoying. I also got smaller more practical toys for that use. Unfortunately it's still to big for me to insert comfortably as well.
I would still recommend the Power Swirl to anyone looking for a strong, rumbly, girthy, and inexpensive toy. It will still get used periodically, just not as often.
