A missile to remain in its silo
While the toy seems to be of a good manufacturing quality, it has lots of design and safety flaws. The material used is not ideal for anal toys. The toy is short and could easily "get lost" as it has no flared base. The rings under the "head" don't feel all too comfortable while moving or pulling the toy out.

Pros
waterproof, hypoallergenic.
Cons
water lubricants only, no flared base, too short, only 2 vibration settings.
It's been a long time since my last review due to some accidents that have lead to injuries temporary limiting my mobility. Thanks for the patience. Now about the Dr. Joel Kaplan probe.
First of all I wish to express my ongoing disappointment with the choice of the material of this toy. The TPR silicone isn't suitable for any lube other than water-based one which is not my lube of choice. It virtually starts melting when you put a silicone based lube on it. Dr. Joel Kaplan seems to be an eager toy designer without too much knowledge of ergonomics, anatomy as well as the basic safety.
1. Egonomics: The top part of the toy is well designed and due to it's vibrations and shape it allows a smooth entry and can be used while "warming up" but why are these two ring shaped "irregularities" underneath? Once you start moving the probe around, it is actually quite disturbing. Not to mention the pulling out feeling after one is done.
2. Anatomical aspect isn't entirely thought through. The toy is a couple of inches shorter than it should be to give comfortable access to the prostate gland. The vibration settings, strong and very strong, don't provide with one enough variety before getting numb.
3. As mentioned above the toy is short, slim and has no flared base. I would not really advise to use it other then a massage stick for your temples
I've been a bit skeptical about Dr. Joel Kaplan before and I'm a strong skeptic now. The experience as such isn't really worth to mention. It's wasn't a good come back to the world of toys. I have certainly had higher expectations. The only good thing about this toy is it's manufacturing quality and lack of any smell. Otherwise a waste.

Follow-up commentary
7 months after original review
Despite all the trials, solo and with partners, the missile remains a big disappointment. Once it's inserted it feels OK, but the vibrations are far away from the "instant orgasm" as promised by the manufacturer. If it manages to hit the prostate the feeling of numbness sets on within a few minutes.
I have asked my partner to penetrate me with that one, and after a few minutes I have decided to go back to the good old Temptress' G-Spot to enjoy some vibrating prostate massage.
We have also tried to use it vaginally, but it just doesn't do as desired. It's OK as a clitoral vibe when combined with some other toys or anal penetration. I will keep this one at the bottom of my chest for now but I don't really know why. I feel that this toy has some potential but I just can't figure out where it lies.

You and Dr. Kaplan = not BFF The probe is short and looks like it's better suited to thrusting during partner play. I like the shape of the toy, sorry to hear that it wasn't a good fit!
-
This is an anal toy? I never would have used it as such.
-
I agree with Lauren. It looks vaginal.
-
It is listed as an anal vibrator! Weird to say the least! Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you!
-
According to my girl it sucks as a vaginal toy. It's OK as a clitoral vibe but there are much better ones on the market.

What defines a toy as being an anal VS vaginal toy?
