A Luxury Let-Down
Overall The Vr8 was a letdown for me. The controls can be finicky and this habit of cutting out when a button is not held down long enough - has ruined many a session for me as it switches off at just the wrong moment.

Pros
One strong motor, Bulbed end provides a nice level of G-spot probing, Travel-locks.
Cons
‘Press and Hold’ controls are distracting and can cause the toy to cut off mid-play.
While I’m usually much more of a simple, silicone dildo lover than an appreciator of more expensive luxury rechargeable vibes, The Vanity by Jopen collection is one that I have heard much about, mostly positive. Vanity by Jopen offers quite the selection of designs including rechargeable rabbits and luxury silicone G-spot vibrators, all in its deep Fuchsia pink colouring.
With Vanity by Jopen having won industry awards like ‘Best Product Line’ and ‘Luxury Toy Line of The Year’ – The Vr8 had a high reputation to live up to.
Packaging:
My Vr8 arrived in basic ‘sample tester packaging’ of a clear plastic bag which contained the vibrator itself along with its charger and various plug adapters so that it can be used in the U.K, Europe and the U.S.
Normally, the Vr8 would arrive in much more luxurious packaging with the addition of a drawstring bag for storage of the toy too.
First Impression:
Seeing the Vr8 in person it has an upmarket look with its minimalist buttons and charging port and its -almost- seam free silicone. One end of the toy is slim and curved with a bulb and pronounced tip whilst the other is thicker and as well shaped for insertion as it is for use as a handle. The slimmer section of the Vr8 is quite flexible (apart from where the bulbs motor is placed) while the thicker end is absolutely solid and non-flexible.
In the middle of the toy are two discreet non-marked buttons. Turning the toy over reveals the equally discreet and water-proof charging port.
In the hand, the finish of the Vr8s silicone is smooth with just a bit of drag, though not much for silicone I thought. Later in use it proved to have more drag than expected.
Controls:
After a few hours charging the Vr8 was ready for its first use and I was ready for the challenge of figuring out its controls as my tester item arrived with no instructions. Each one of the unmarked buttons corresponds to it closest motor and after some time playing with the buttons I got a hang of the relatively simple controls.
Pressing the closest button will switch on each motor, pressing and holding the button will increase its vibration speed and pressing without holding will switch off the vibrations altogether. Each end of the toy can be used separately or both motors can vibrate at once. When a motor is switched on its button will stay lit up red.
Holding both buttons down together for a few seconds will travel lock the Vr8, repeating this will unlock it.
Measurements:
Total Length: 8 Inches
Circumference of Bulb: 3 ¾ Inches
Circumference larger End: 5 Inches
Features:
Two Motors
Body-Safe – Medical-grade, phthalate-free platinum silicone
Versatile – Internal, G-spot and clitoral stimulation
Several Vibration Modes
Waterproof
Rechargeable
Light up Controls
Travel Lock
Bulb End:
Starting with the smaller and flexible Bulb end of the toy, its shape works well for clitoral stimulation as it is small enough to really nuzzle in against the clitoris and its pointed tip can provide concentrated, direct vibrations.
The lowest vibration mode of the bulb is particularly slow even for a low setting and at first it can feel like you have maybe switched the wrong end of the toy on. Moving on to it higher levels of vibration took some practice as learning to press and hold the button each time took some practice and patience and having the vibrations completely cut off every time I forgot this made for a frustrating begin to my first session with the Vr8!
Once I had adapted to its ‘press and hold’ controls I enjoyed the wide range of vibrations which really do cover everything from barely felt to a reasonable level of vibration, though it doesn’t boast any pulsing or escalating modes. The bulb end certainly wouldn’t be powerful enough for a power queen to enjoy.
When inserted the Bulb provides some light G-spot stimulation as it naturally gravitates towards the front wall of the vagina. Its slim build makes it easy to insert and gives it more of a probing feel in use rather than filling penetration. Its vibrations impressed me more when pressed against the G-spot and mixed with G-spot pressure; compared with their weaker performance when used clitorally.
Larger End:
The very smooth, larger end of the Vr8 is solid and its shape quite reminds of the JimmyJane Form 6’s thick end. It has stronger vibrations than the smaller bulbed end and its solid build means that these stronger vibrations also travel better through the toy so it provides much stronger and direct vibrations when used clitorally. Power lovers will get on much better with this motor!

Experience
When inserted, this end requires a generous amount of lube and feels a good bit larger than its smaller counterpart. In use it is filling but lacking as its smooth shape just doesn’t provide much penetrative stimulation to accompany its more adequate vibrations and filling size.
Overall:
Overall I enjoyed the smaller bulbed end for G-spot probing (though it’s not curved enough to provide intense G-spot stimulation) and the larger end works better for clitoral use as it provides stronger vibrations through its solid build and much stronger motor. While the smaller end is weaker and much quieter, the larger end is as loud as it is strong.
The ‘press and hold’ feature with the toy buttons is what really frustrates me about this toy though. While most toys have a reverse feature where holding a button down will switch a toy off; the Vr8 goes against this usual rule and the finicky timing when pressing its buttons can lead to the dreaded cut off at that all important moment.
Material and care:
Made of Hypo-allergenic, Latex free, Non-porous and Phthalates free silicone, the Vr8 is skin safe and easily cleaned with warm water and a mild soap. Being so waterproof, it can be properly cleaned without worry despite its having charging port. The silicone material of the Vr8 has a velvety soft finish which has a strong drag and requires extra lubricant. It is safe to use with water-based lubricants and comes with a drawstring bag for storage.

Thank you for viewing Vanity Vr8 – g-spot vibrator discontinued review page!
I had high hopes but even with time to adjust to the controls, its finicky button timing means it switches off at that make-or-break moment when you all you want is that extra hint of power.
