One of patterns includes the constant vibration though all motors. The second type of function includes changes in motors after each second, which allows an almost full rotation of the head and beads, and a switch between the vibrations for the clitoral and anal attachments (their motors go from one direction to another, so a full stop is felt, but they both constantly vibrate). The third one is like the second, but the changes occur much quicker, at every half second.

The intensity go from a medium-low to a strong high, and the change in settings is so gradual that you almost feel like going through a slider than buttons.
