I would be hesitant to recommend this to someone, because mine broke after 2 weeks. $60 dollars is a lot to spend for 2 weeks, but if the motor was more reliable, I would count this as a good addition to anyone's toy box.
The Roulette Croupier by Evolved Novelties is intended for vaginal use, in particular for g-spot stimulation. I think a functional Croupier has something to offer to both newbies and veterans, but someone buying this vibe just for g-spotting will probably be disappointed. The tip is too broad and soft to stimulate that area well -- for me at least. If you're just looking for a vibrator that you can use vaginally, for clitoral stimulation, or in the shower, then this vibe will have something to offer.
Note: I would not recommend this one for a very first vibrator because of the girth, but it shouldn't take you long to work up to this size.
This toy, like many other vibes, is silicone. That means lots of cling, but fortunately it's easy to clean, and it can be stored easily in its own box. This is quality silicone, so there is no smell or taste, which I appreciate. Regardless of how much soap I use, if something smells, I don't feel that it's clean.
The texture at the tip is best for clitoral stimulation, and it can't really be felt internally.
The design was definitely a plus for me; it's a good width, and it has a very pleasing design. I was very impressed with the vibrant colours, and the pretty, yet functional, curves. This toy, with batteries removed, would be easy to transport, but it's not discreet. It definitely demands attention. If you drop your bag and this rolls out, everyone is going to know exactly what it is.
Putting aside my biggest compliant (as described in experiences), when this toy worked, it worked great. The vibrations are primary felt on the end of the shaft. The controls are easy to use, the battery pack is accessible, the vibrations are strong, the curve is good, and the girth is exactly how I like it. If this product hadn't quit on me, it would still be one of my favourites.
I really like the controls on this vibe. The dial is incredibly easy to use, and it stays in place once you pick a level.
Water lovers will love the fact that it is a waterproof toy. Personally, that's not a big feature for me, but I did test it in the shower and it held up. I was surprised that the dial was waterproof as well, but it is.
I didn't find it to be too loud. I would say a 2-3 out of 5 bees; it could be heard over blankets but not through a door unless you had your ear pressed to it. If you worry about thin walls or noisy housemates, a bit of music would easily muffle any buzzing.
It can be cleaned with mild soap or toy cleaner. It should not be used with silicone lube -- water-based only. I store mine in the lovely box it came with, but any box or pouch would do. It should not be put with other silicone toys, as the silicone can degrade.
It comes in a hard plastic box that has a secure metal clasp on the two long ends. The metal and plastic of the box are put together well and seem like they'll last a long time.
In fact, since the motor died on mine, the box is likely the only thing I'll keep out of this whole experience.
There weren't any instructions included, but really, everything is self-explanatory.
I was really excited to get this toy, at $60 dollars I thought I was investing in quality. The packing is impressive, the silicone flawless, the colour is vibrant... it definitely holds up under visual scrutiny.
The fist time I used it, I was not disappointed. The vibrations were strong enough to satisfy without numbing (about a 4 on the vroom scale). The curve was great at stimulating the clit and g-spot; the ridge on the top was especially good for the clit. The girth was exactly the size I like best right now. So, basically, everything was perfect and I was pretty happy about my purchase.
But the honeymoon only lasted 2 weeks when the motor unexpectedly quit. I wish the design was enough for me without the vibrations, but I'm a girl that needs vibrations, and if I just want a full feeling, I have better dildos. So, now this toy is useless to me.
I am frustrated by its failure. I think at 60 bucks, it should have a motor that's going to last more that 2 weeks.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it1 month after original review
With no motor, this toy really has no purpose for me. I haven't used it since, and I plan to clear it out from my toy box.
