Pros
Strong vibrations, solid design, quiet. The detachable bullet makes for easy cleaning.
Cons
Minor battery issues.
The Mantric Bedside Bullet was my first bullet-style vibrator. Being a huge fan of many different types of sex toys, I couldn't believe I had not yet experimented with a bullet. I never quite understood a bullet's place among other toys because of their odd, mini egg-shape that can only be used to pinpoint one small area. Therefore, I felt a sense of inexperience when I broke out this beside bullet. It didn't help that I couldn't get it to turn on the first time. I figured it was just my batteries that were dead so I went and finally invested in rechargeable batteries. Well, it worked!
The Mantric Bullet is a smooth plastic, which is non-porous and phthalates-free so you can clean it easily with some warm water and antibacterial soap. Feel free to use water, silicone or oil-based lubricants with this bullet. The battery pack and controls fit in your hand like an iPod and the bullet attaches like a set of headphones, which makes it easier to clean because you don't have to worry about getting water in your batteries or motor. Make sure that you have 3 AA batteries ready for this toy because they are not included!
The controls are very straight forward and consist of an up and down arrow to cycle through the bullet's eight settings. The first three are mild, moderate and strong constant vibration and then you get 5 pulsating and escalating settings. After the eighth setting it resets, which is nice because you don't have to cycle all of the way back down to turn it off.
I was not terribly successful on my first attempt with using this toy. I found that its small shape left a lot to be desired as far as clitoral stimulation was concerned. This is not the toy's fault, but rather my inexperience with vibrating bullets. I prefer a more "comprehensive" vibrator like the LayaSpot, which stimulates the whole region. The concentrated vibe of the Mantric just didn't get me excited so in my impatient state I broke out another one of my vibes to use instead.
The next time I tried the Mantric Bullet it wouldn't turn on again! I discovered that this was because one of the batteries got stuck too far in so the battery next to it wasn't making contact with the metal. I just had to pull the battery that was stuck out a tiny bit. Be aware of this if your doesn't want to turn on. Once I figured this out, it has worked fine.
This time I inserted the bullet and found it to be quite pleasurable- finally I had found a way to enjoy this toy! I experimented with different depths and cycled through the bullet's different settings while stimulating my clit manually. This led to an extremely intense orgasm, so I was happy. The bullet's plastic material transmits strong vibrations that, if positioned correctly, can be used on the g-spot. The escalating vibe settings felt great inside of me. Now I know that a bullet can offer the option of insertion without too much commitment. With it you can enjoy a stronger orgasm without a lot of lube and a girthy dildo.
Although it was only my first bullet, I would recommend the Mantric Bedside Bullet. The design is simple and sturdy and the vibrations are strong. I believe it is quite enough that you cold use it in public spaces, but I have yet to try that one out.
