Uncomfortable Material and Shiny Chunky Areas? No Thank You!
I really thought this was going to be a corset that rocked my world. Instead, I was deeply disappointed. The material on the inside of the corset was scratchy against my skin immediately after I put it on. Maybe it'll work better for someone else... but for me, I won't be wearing it again.

Pros
many sizes available, size can be adjustable with lace back
Cons
material is uncomfortable, lace ties don't like to stay tied, shiny in all the wrong places.
The Liquid Shine Corset Thong and Stockings by DreamGirl is available in sizes S, M, L, 1X/2X, and 3X/4X. Since they don’t have size XL, which is what I normally wear, I opted for the size large and prayed it would fit.
The corset and thong arrived wrapped beneath hot pink tissue paper. Attached to the corset were a cardboard tag and a sealed plastic baggy. The cardboard tag had a photo of a model wearing the outfit, and stated the company name, size, colour, and company website. They have the colour listed as hot pink and black, though I think the colour is much more purplish. In the attached baggy, there was a pair of stockings.
The corset is 100% polyester. The black wet look parts of the corset have stretch to them, while the purple parts of the corset do not. The criss-crossed string down the back of the corset can be loosened/tightened as needed.
I’ve taken measurements of the corset laying flat, unstretched. The ties in the very back of the corset were tied tightly so that there would be no gap between the lace (no skin showing through). If you need additional measurements, please feel free to send me a message.
Thong
Waistband unstretched: 14 inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 28 inches
Widest part of material that covers your front area: 4 ½ inches
Liner length: 4 ¼ inches
Corset
Chest (armpit to armpit): 15 ½ inches
Length of corset (armpit to bottom): 12 ½ inches
Length of back of corset: 10 ¼ inches
Ribbon neck ties length: 20 inches each
Detachable, adjustable garter straps: 6 ½- 10 ¾ inches
The measurements above were taken of the tightest fit possible. The ties can be loosened greatly. There are actually 2 long ties that tie up the back of the corset, so there is plenty of string to adjust the sizing to fit your needs. Though, the more you need to loosen the ties, the more skin will be exposed since there is no material underneath the ties.
The corset does up with 18 hook and eye closures down the centre front. There are 8 plastic boning pieces in the corset; 4 in the front, and 4 in the back. The 4 garters that come with the corset are detachable, so you do not need to wear them if you prefer not to. I like wearing my corsets out in public underneath a nice cardigan, so I rarely get use out of the garter straps. You can see a photo of the stockings, thong, and a garter strap from the piece below.
Instead of shoulder straps, this corset ties behind the neck. The neckties are a long ribbon (see measurements above) and because they are so long, I can’t see them being a problem for anybody.
There is no designated area for your chest (cups) so there is no under wire, and there is no padding in the chest area. The lack of support may bother some people. Also, depending on where your nipples sit (whether it be beneath the wet-look material or the purple material), the outline will show through. I just adjusted my chest so that my nipples were beneath the purple material since it’s thicker and doesn’t reveal anything.
The stockings are black and sheer. They’re extremely stretchy. The stockings are not really the best quality, though it is nice that they added them with the corset. If I were to wear the corset with stockings in the bedroom, I would probably use one of my own pair of stockings. These stockings have to be worn with garter straps because they are the kind that likes to roll down your thigh immediately after putting them on.
The material is not comfortable against the skin at all (for me anyway). The black, wet-look material is fine, but the rest of the material is scratchy against the skin on the inside of the corset. As soon as I tried the corset on to take photos for the review, I told my partner how uncomfortable it was. I was excited to get the photos done and over with so I could take the corset off. This was the biggest turn off of the corset for me because above all, I need to be comfortable. I can usually handle a bit of lace trim scratchiness, but this is the entire inside of the corset I had to deal with. The thong wasn’t scratchy, though the material was ridiculously stiff.
The care tag states that both the thong and corset should be dry-cleaned only.

Experience
...continued
As much as I loved the corset in the stock photo, my opinion has changed now that I’ve actually worn it. I’m deducting two stars in the rating for how uncomfortable it is on me. I most likely will not wear this corset again because it doesn’t eventually get uncomfortable; it’s uncomfortable from the very beginning.
Another thing that I wasn’t fond of is how it looks on me. I’m an extra large person so I’ve got some chub. The wet look material shines a bit, and seems to highlight my chubby areas. I really don’t even want to add photos of me wearing it because I dislike the look of it on me THAT much (though I will anyway for the sake of the review). I also wish it was a bit longer.
The last thing that bothered me about the corset is that the ties that you lace up the back are very silky and do not like to stay tied. This isn’t as big of an issue as the others things I just noted because you can always replace the ties with a ribbon/string/etc.
Below are a few photos of me wearing the corset (I warn you, it’s not sexy at all- yuckie!). The first photo shows a front view, second is a side view, and third is a back view. I added the fourth photo because I felt that I looked bitchy in the first photo and I’m not bitchy at all so I didn’t like it. The first photo is a better representation of how it looks from a front view though because the last photo I am sort of leaning forward and it looks like I’m sticking my bum back.
You can see in those photos the shine on my hips. Also, I don’t think I mentioned above that there is no panel beneath the hook and eye closures so there will be a bit of skin showing through (you can see this in the first and last photo).
I’ve decided to give this piece a 2 out of 5. While it looks nice in the stock photo, that’s where it needs to stay. I won’t be wearing this again because the material is far too uncomfortable against my skin and I can’t stand the way it makes my flubbed areas shiny.
