BRAND & COLOUR:
The Chemise Padded Cups is another beautiful creation by Coquette – one of my favourite lingerie companies so far. Their items are made in China.
A lot of people seem to associate this outfit with weddings. I don't naturally think of weddings when I see a sexy white piece of lingerie. But then I'm not wedding orientated. To me it just screams innocence and purity. It's a shame it doesn't also come in a black and perhaps a soft pink for those who love the shade.
The product page doesn't show up how pretty it is with the sliver threading – it's prettier in person.
MATERIAL:
The chemise is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester and has plenty of stretch to the mesh body. The inside of the cups are lined with some decent cotton padding which is going to give you a little extra size boost, whether you require it or not. I believe most of us are happy with a little something extra in that department (even at a DD cup). These cups also have underwire for support.
For added detail, the outer half of the cups features a lace overlay with silver threading throughout the floral pattern, to create somewhat of a glittering effect. The rest of the cups is done in slightly gathered mesh. Across the top of each cup is a wide band (slightly over 1” wide) of sparkly, stretchy, opaque gauze that is gathered onto a piece of elastic. This creates a mild amount of stretch.
The main section around the chest is all created using the same stretchy lacing as is on the cups. It's also featured at the bottom of the chemise. At the top of the back is three rows with two hook and eye closures, just as you find on a bra. The straps are fully adjustable thin elastic.
Joined onto the glittery lacing is very tiny holed mesh fabric which allows the body to breath. Perfect for the warmer months. This mesh is very stretchy in all directions, causing it to be ultra hugging and will show up everything. Coming down from each cup is a strip of polyester (stretchy) which curves slightly as it makes its way down to the bottom lacing and is finished off with a small white ribbon bow. I believe the bows can be removed without affecting the rest of the outfit. These strips make the eyes focus on them and gives the illusion of smooth shaping. The back doesn't feature these or the bows.
On the inside at the bottom of the mesh is where four elastic adjustable garter straps are attached – these aren't removable, unless permanently. They aren't stitched to the lace section at all. The clip piece is metal with a piece of white ribbon stitched in place, which can be easily removed.
There's no g-string included with this one, unfortunately.
All seams have been serged with no stray threads being left hanging. The edges on the ribbon pieces have Stop Fray on them, but they failed to use a little on all the elastic ends – shoulder straps and garters.
FIT:
Because this chemise is made from stretchy mesh, it will fit a variety of shapes and sizes – depending on how you like your lingerie to fit. This one is only offered in a L, but I'm able to fit into it (just) and I have been buying XL in lingerie from Eden. Smaller than a L could get away with it if they don't want it to stretch much or at all if you're tiny. I've included the measurements so you can decide for yourself.
The shoulder straps can adjust from an unstretched 10” to 19”. There's plenty of strap to play with and this type will stay where they are adjusted to – unlike with shiny ribbon straps. Not only are the garter straps stretchy elastic, but they adjust from 4” to 7 ½”.
All measurements below are gained by measuring across a flat garment.
CHEST – underneath cups:
Unstretched: 14 ½”
Stretched: 18 ½”
WAIST:
Unstretched: 13 ¼”
Stretched: 25”
HIPS:
Unstretched: 15 ½”
Stretched: 28”
LENGTH:
From the top of the cups to the hem unstretched = 21”.
From the top of the cups to the start of the lace bottom = 16”

Experience
I’m a DD (AU sizing) and at my age, my breasts no longer have that firmness going on. They require garments that will keep them contained, as they do have a mind of their own. I'm not keen on my breasts mushrooming over the top of moulded cups and mine do tend to in this one. So I make the straps longer which gives a sagging appearance rather than shorter straps that lift and squish my breasts all up into the cups, causing them to REALLY overflow. From experience though, most guys are going to love your breasts, even if they are spilling out; the more they can see, the better. If you're a firm DD, it would look ultra hot. Otherwise, I'd say this one is a better fit for a C or regular D size bust. Any smaller could be lost in this.

CLEANING ~ PACKAGING:
The tag says to hand wash due to the lace and mesh. Although the materials aren't ultra delicate, some machines (particularly top loaders with the centre rotating fins) could catch and rip the fabric. Placing it in a pillow case would prevent this happening.
I hand washed mine for the first time, but I'll just throw it in the front loader on its own for the next clean. I then hang mine to dry on a clothes line on the veranda or inside protected from the sun.
The Chemise arrived on a normal sized plastic Coquette coat hanger and packaged in a clear plastic dress bag. The package is tacky/glue sealed at the bottom and is resealable if need be.
EXPERIENCE:
I love that this one has the sliver threading, as actual glitter gets over everything! Even though this is only my 3rd Coquette chemise, they have yet to fail me in their fantastic style and quality. I'm planning on ordering my 4th one, in the same design as this, very soon. As much as I love other lingerie pieces I have bought from different companies, this style seem to bring out my sexier side. Until I bought my first one, Retro Mesh Cupless Chemise, I wasn't a big fan of lingerie due to being on the large side. I just felt like an elephant in them. Although these ones hug your figure EVERYWHERE, I feel sexy in them which is a big thing for someone who has never been happy with her body. And for whatever reason, since then I have been able to enjoy myself more in my other pieces.
I have worn this for a couple of short wears, but because it is tight-ish on me and I don't want to permanently stretch it (if that's possible; the mesh bounces back quite well), I'm planning to set this aside til I lose some weight and am an actual L in size.
Thanks Coquette and here's 5 stars for the Chemise Padded Cups.
Just wish there was more size range in this one, so everyone has the chance to buy and experience how sexy this number is!
