This red halter top by Espiral is one of those revealing clubbing outfits that can actually be mixed and matched with a lot of other things in your wardrobe. It is supposed to be a loose fitting blouse that sort of drapes around you, but if you are a plus sized girl like me, I wouldn't back down from wearing this piece as long as it is layered properly. I think it does not look bad on me, especially since baggy clothes just make me look bigger than I already am. I think this works for me just nicely.

Material/Design

This halter top blouse is made of 94% Rayon and 6%Elastan. It is a very lightweight, flowy material, but it is also quite stretchy. I actually have a few skirts made of this particular fabric, and it is very smooth and nice to wear, and also does not "age" quickly. This material tends to stay new-looking for a very long time even when washed constantly.

The design is nothing special. It's just two strips of material that slightly overlaps at the front. They are attached to a string that ties behind your neck, and the blouse is accented with silver colored rings and chains. The chains and the rings look very cheap and I think that it will probably tarnish or break off over time. Luckily, the halter's string just wraps around it, so you can easily remove it if you do not like having the rings dangle from your neck.

There is a garter at the bottom which I am not so fond of, however, it keeps the shirt in place without riding up.

Fit/Size

This blouse is really stretchy so I think it will fit a lot of women. It is a bit form fitting on me instead of the baggy, flowy way it hangs on the model, but personally, I think it makes the blouse look better. I am a big girl and have a 49 inch bust, a 47 inch waist, and 52 inch hips.

I would never wear something this revealing by itself so I wore a black tube top underneath. This is what it looks like on me:


It does not ride up and the material is stretchy enough to not create any stress around my neck while I am wearing it. I do not like the rings much myself so I think I will just remove them or replace them with something else.

Care and Wash

Washing this blouse is easy enough. I would suggest that you remove the rings and the chains before stuffing it in the washing machine to prevent it from coming apart and getting stuck somewhere. You are supposed to handwash this blouse only, but I just use a washable laundry bag for delicates and set the washing machine to delicate. I only use cold water to minimise bleeding, and I wash it with similar fabrics.

Overall, I think this blouse is not bad. I think it looks okay on me, and I would gladly couple it with a tube top and a nice jacket to go over it. It is a nice evening piece for a night out in town.

Months have passed and the halter itself is still fine. However, I had to remove the ring and the chains because they have started to rust and some of the chain links have fallen off. The shirt itself still looks like new though and is a sexy backless piece.
