Super sparkly, super sexy!
All in all, this was a great dress, and it completely served its purpose. Will I wear it again? Possibly, for a night out to a club with a pair of leggings! Will I be aware of irritation and do everything I can to stop it? Absolutely.

Pros
Nicely lined, sequins have great reflection!
Cons
Sequins can irritate sensitive places that rub such as underarms.
I'm a bit modest, but I purchased this dress with the intentions of wearing it to a Halloween party. You know, since Halloween is the one time per year that chicks can go out in public wearing skimpy clothing and not be judged for it... I made my own costume, and I was a naughty unicorn.
This dress fit the bill perfectly! It was super short, and it barely covered my tush. I wore super cute black, purple and lace striped boyshorts underneath since the dress literally stopped at the top of my thighs.
The fact that it was black, shimmery and sparkly hid all my insecurities about my lumpy stomach. I didn't feel like wearing any shapewear that night.
The sequins were sewn in wonderfully; none began to loosen or fall off throughout the whole night, and I was pretty rough on it while I was wearing it. All the stitching stayed intact and tight.
This dress, unless you have super perky breasts, will need a bra worn with it. There is no bust support at all, but the straps are thick enough to hide any bra straps. My bra stayed hidden for most of the night, but made an appearance in one picture. Again, thankfully it was Halloween and it wasn't a big deal.
The sequins are thick and high quality which is a good thing but because they are thick, they will rub on sensitive areas of skin such as underarms. That's where I had the biggest irritation from this dress. When I took the dress off, I did have some chaffing on my sensitive pits. When I had my sweater over the dress, it kept the underarms from being irritated.
One thing that I absolutely loved about this dress though is that it gives amazing cleavage! Though my bra was not showing most of the evening, somehow it made an appearance in this picture.
(Pardon the cigarette pack and lighter tucked in the strap in this picture, I had no pockets for the evening.)

Experience
This dress made me feel absolutely sexy. I'm very self conscious about my stomach, and between the black color and the sequins, I feel like it was hidden very well. If it were just a teeny tiny bit longer, it would be great for wearing out for any occasion. I just found it to be a bit too short for that. I got so many compliments on this shimmery number that I began to forget how the sequins under the arms were irritating my sensitive skin horribly!
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I truly think that it's a shame that this dress got discontinued! It's still a staple in my wardrobe in the winter when paired with some leggings or jeans, and a sweater. I still feel truly sexy in it because of the camouflaging properties of my middle section by the sequins and the black. It's held up great through a few wears. However, to extend the life of it, I haven't washed it after each wearing. If I only wear it out for a little while, I wait to wash it. We all know how finicky that sequins can be with the wash, and thankfully I haven't noticed any missing at all!

Aww! How lovely this looks! I have this in blue and I felt the same way you did -- so pretty and sexy! I love that dress. Still have it. I really wish I'd have gotten it in black too! I love your photos. Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I may have to add the black to my wardrobe too. Hmm.. Now only if it came in pink too! Lol.
